Death in Vegas returns with Transmission

Death in Vegas returns with Transmission, the sixth release from the project begun by Richard Fearless nearly two decades ago.

Death in Vegas returns with Transmission, the sixth release from the project begun by Richard Fearlessnearly two decades ago. This album forges new miles on the path Fearless carved with Satan's Circus and Trans-Love Energies, and is born of his desire for an ever more raw, refined sound. United over a love of Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey, Fearless partners with artist and writer Sasha Grey, whose lyrics resonate across the soundscape of visceral techno and unsettling, discordant drones, weaving into a state of dreamlike euphoria. Field recordings of the constant drone of air traffic and incessant noise from the steel factory opposite Fearless' Metal Box studio, as well as the Ballardian landscape in which it's set, all exert their pull on the record, searching for light in the dark.TRACKLISTING

BRONCHO Premiere "Fantasy Boys" Video, Announce Headlining Tour + Cage The Elephant Support Dates!

BRONCHO PREMIERE "FANTASY BOYS" VIDEO
ANNOUNCE HEADLINING TOUR + SUPPORT DATES WITH CAGE THE ELEPHANT! BRONCHO premiered the VHS-shot music video for their new single "Fantasy Boys" today via Noisey; the clip features a fuzzed-out aura that aligns with the song's romantic nostalgia. "Fantasy Boys" is the first single from BRONCHO's forthcoming third album  Double Vanity , due out May 27 on Dine Alone Records.
WATCH "FANTASY BOYS"
Praise for "Fantasy Boys":
"Double Vanity is somewhat of a tonal shift from their last album-they've gotten a little smoother, a little slower, and a little sexier... ["Fantasy Boys"] sounds like the romantic final slow dance scene from a sexy late '80s movie." - The Fader
"The subdued track comes smothered in spacey guitar effects, and vocalist Ryan Lindsey somehow makes lines like 'I wanna eat you up' sound sexy instead of weirdly ominous. It's a lower-key look than nearly anything we've seen from BRONCHO so far, and it might be a sign that they've finally learned how to relax. Or, better yet, get down." - Consequence of Sound
"You know a song is good when it makes you shiver a little and it's not just because the air con is on full blast." - Noisey
"A hooky, dreamy piece of '80s-sounding pop songwriting." - Brooklyn Vegan
"[S]hows the quartet moving in a  sexier, more shoe-gazey direction. If you're thinking of your favorite 80s cult-movies while listening to 'Fantasy Boys,' you're not alone." - Observer
BRONCHO will be on tour through May and June, opening a string of dates for Cage The Elephant at venues like New York's Central Park Summer Stage and Philadelphia's Mann Center, and then continuing on with a headlining tour across the country.

Villagers Announce NYC Headline Show; Confirm Newport Folk Festival

ANNOUNCE HEADLINE NEW YORK SHOW and CONFIRM NEWPORT FOLK FESTIVAL  credit: Andrew Whitton Following on from multiple shows in 2015, which saw Villagers aka Conor O'Brien supporting John Grant, Calexico, Laura Marling and Paul Weller throughout USA and Canada, the band have announced they will be returning in July to perform shows in New York and at Newport Folk Festival. These shows mark the first time Villagers will be appearing as a full, five-piece band in the United States. Previous trips have seen Conor O'Brien play in various stripped down configurations, however the full muscle of his live band has not been experienced by audiences in the United States. This July, catch Villagers at Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday July 23rd, or at Newport Folk Festival on Sunday July 24th. Villagers US Tour DatesSat July 23 ||New York, NY ||Le Poisson Rouge || TIXSun July 24 || Newport, RI || Newport Folk Festival || SOLD OUT Watch footage from a recent Villagers concert filmed in Europe.  http://concert.arte.tv/fr/villagers-la-route-du-rock-hiver 2015 saw Villagers release the critically acclaimed Darling Arithmetic, the third full-length album in their career. Spawning the singles 'The Soul Serene', 'Everything I Am Is Yours', 'Hot Scary Summer', and 'Dawning On Me', the deeply personal and heartfelt album reached new audiences in American and beyond, and led to multiple tours in the United States. In early 2016, Villagers released Where Have You Been All My Life?, a a re-imagining of older material seamlessly woven with Darling Arithmetic material, recorded over one 24 hour period at London's RAK Studios. Praise for Darling Arithmetic: "For the third Villagers album, "Darling Arithmetic," Mr. O'Brien has scaled back radically, turning out something that resembles an old-fashioned folk-rock confessional. On the opener and lead single, "Courage," he strums an acoustic guitar with a country lilt that calls Neil Young's "Harvest" to mind." - NEW YORK TIMES "The need to stop pretending-to admitting one's deepest insecurities and wants-seems central to Darling Arithmetic, an album that delivers a gorgeous, if somewhat restrained, step forward." - PITCHFORK "a naked and subtle acoustic record with the raw, straightforward lyrical universality of Christopher Owens and Devendra Banhart" - INTERVIEW MAGAZINE "O'Brien wisely keeps Darling Arithmetic's arrangements subtle and skeletal, giving each the space it needs in order to breathe, rest and seep under the skin" - NPR "Ultimately, Darling Arithmetic emerges as the ideal soundtrack for the typical Sunday morning respite following an evening of excess and entanglement. It's akin to meditation, when the need to exhale becomes of utmost importance. Most of all, it's a graceful, beguiling and sumptuous set of songs, one worthy of both patience and praise, an extension of the excellence the Villagers brand introduced so early on. Darling Arithmetic is nothing less than calculated genius, manifested." - POP MATTERS "O'Brien's latest is easily his richest work so far." - PASTE "a quiet folk album with little, arty flourishes, "Darling Arithmetic" doesn't need to get loud to have an impact. Drumheads slapped with brushes, picked-out acoustic guitar and sparse piano and organ frame some truly lonesome vocals. Best example: the urgent, wounded shout contained in whispers on "Hot Scary Summer."" -BOSTON HERALD "It's a tumultuous listen, but one that sweeps you up in its compassion, bravery, and beauty. Honesty has never sounded so good." UNDER THE RADAR  For more information please contact: www.wearevillagers.com /www.facebook.com/villagers /www.twitter.com/wearevillagers

^ w/ Courtney Barnett "Each of the nine songs on the Toronto band's first LP is a sharply drawn indie-pop wonder, steeped in romance, wit and melody."  -- ★★★★ Rolling Stone Ever ascending, the Canadian fuzz-pop quintet Alvvays are set to continue making a splash in 2016 with announcements that they will embarking their first ever Australian tour, followed by three North American nights with Courtney Barnett between two exciting debut Coachella appearances. Despite a busy schedule, they've also been taking as much time as possible at home in Toronto to work on their next record.

The group had a breakout run behind the critically acclaimed and fan adored self-titled debut. Released by Polyvinyl Records the album was produced by indie-guru Chad VanGaalen and mixed by Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh as well as John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile.)Having already been chosen by NME as “a band everyone will be talking about after SXSW”, the band have also captured the attention of the likes of Pitchfork, DIY and Stereogum, with their tracks "Adult Diversion" and "Archie, Marry Me". The band has received accolades from press and other indie legends across the board. Comprised of Molly Rankin (lead vocals/guitar), Kerri Maclellan (keys/vocals), Alec O'Hanley (guitar), Brian Murphy (bass) and Phil MacIsaac (drums), Alvvays take the template laid out by the likes of Scottish stalwarts Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines and Belle & Sebastian and fuse it with a strong sense of self and a unique personality. Each shimmering track on their debut full-length frames Rankin's melancholic melodies and unwavering voice with meticulous arrangements and needlepoint guitars.

The man behind the Brian Jonestown Massacre embodies a rock archetype: the wildly creative yet self-destructive genius. His prolific output includes more than 15 BJM albums …and this year alone includes a soundtrack to an imaginary French film, a short LP called Mini Album Thingy Wingy, and a drone-rock side-project with Toronto rock’n’roller Tess Parks. Every offering is invariably coloured by his reputation as a loose cannon.” – Rhik Samadder (The Guardian)
