The Kills unveiled the second music video from their highly anticipated fifth album,  Ash & Ice . "Heart Of A Dog" premiered on the Coachella festival live stream immediately before the band's blistering energetic performance Friday evening. The band adds: We are very very especially pleased to release our new music video for "Heart of A Dog!" It was shot all day and into the night in Los Angeles by our dear friend, the tremendous talent, Sophie Muller. We love this video. We love it because it's fucking fun. Muscle cars and backflips. Palms trees and cacti. Dogs and dice. Neon and sunshine. We hope you love it as much as we do. VROOM VROOM. Love, The Kills.

The man behind the Brian Jonestown Massacre embodies a rock archetype: the wildly creative yet self-destructive genius. His prolific output includes more than 15 BJM albums …and this year alone includes a soundtrack to an imaginary French film, a short LP called Mini Album Thingy Wingy, and a drone-rock side-project with Toronto rock’n’roller Tess Parks. Every offering is invariably coloured by his reputation as a loose cannon.” – Rhik Samadder (The Guardian)

"The Manchester, England-reared all-female quartet Pins may be the talk of the indie scene - and look magazine-ready, to boot - but their ascent has been as uncontrived as their fuzzed-out, slightly melancholy sound."-The New York Times"Citing '90s groups like My Bloody Valentine and Jesus and Mary Chain as influences, the band takes a jangly, straight-ahead approach to alternative rock on "Young Girls" --NPR" They're just a very good rock band making very good rock music, taking a familiar stew of influences and just nailing the fuck out of them." --Stereogum"Young Girls," a sunny-day indie shuffler that flows perfectly in time for the gentle winds of spring" --FADER
Still on the heels of their successful second album  Wild Nights,  and amidst an extensive North American tour supporting The Subways, Manchester five-piece PINS have shared a dark, sultry video for track “Trouble” on The Line Of Best Fit.
As the song title suggests-and in true PINS form-the video hints at darkness and danger while simultaneously emitting playfulness, style and addictive guitar work.
The band says of the video: "Trouble is about doing something that feels good even though it might be bad for you. We took a blacked out photography studio and used different props and lenses to reflect that notion. We channelled our darkest thoughts and started rolling. It's dangerous, glitchy and distorted. You only ever get a glimpse. But you can't help but watch."
PINS earlier this year released their standout second album  Wild Nights , receiving great acclaim across media in the UK and US. The album was recorded in Joshua Tree at Rancho De La Luna with Dave Catching (QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal) and Hayden Scott, and mixed in New York with Ben Baptie at Atomic Sound NYC (Mark Ronson).
This year has seen a packed out touring schedule for the band. Along with performing their own sold out headline shows, they have supported the likes of Sleater-Kinney, Drenge, Best Coast  and Mythopeoia III: Legs.

Pearl Charles shares new video, announces Record Store Day releases + new tour dates

PEARL CHARLES SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR "PHASES"
ANNOUNCES PHYSICAL RELEASE OF SELF-TITLED EP VIA KANINE RECORDS & TRACK "PHASES" ON ALCOPOP! UK LABEL COMPILATION FOR RECORD STORE DAY
LAUNCHES CALIFORNIA TOUR DATES NEXT WEEKWATCH: "Phases" https://youtu.be/ScdhkrmcR98
Following last year's release of her debut self-titled EP via Burger Records that introduced the native Angeleno's brand of effortless cool, Pearl Charles is back today to announce two Record Store Day releases. The first of those releases is the inclusion of her song "Phases" as part of the Alcopop! curated UK label compilation and the second of which is the physical release of her self-titled EP (previously only available on cassette and digital on Burger Records) via Kanine Records, which will include three bonus tracks.
In conjunction with the announcement, Pearl Charles is sharing a new video for "Phases". The visual is directed by Davis Ayer who worked on the piece in collaboration with artist Evan Hawkins and depicts Charles strumming her guitar against a background of sea and moody spotlights, serene and ethereal. It also comes in advance of the string of shows throughout California that Pearl will be playing starting next week. Check out the video above now and see below for more on Pearl Charles and upcoming tour dates.
Tour Dates:

April 20  - Los Angeles, CA @ Standard HotelApril 24 - Los Angeles, CA @ EchoplexApril 28 - San Diego, CA @ Pour HouseMay 21 - Palms, CA @ Deserted, The Palms FestivalJune 11 - Sonoma, CA @ Huichica FestivalJune 19 - Topanga, CA @ KCSN, The Village
 About Pearl Charles:
At the young age of 23, Pearl Charles already has deep roots in the Los Angeles music community. An LA Native, Pearl embodied California rock and roll cool even before she took her natural position as a figure in the local music scene (and beyond). Pearl started logging miles on the road with her first band, oldtimey Americana duo The Driftwood Singers, at age 18, followed by a lengthy stint drumming and singing in garage-pop band The Blank Tapes. The Blank Tapes toured extensively and earned accolades from Rolling Stone and The New Yorker for their sunny lo-fi surf rock. Along the way, Pearl collaborated with artists such as Jonathan Wilson, Stephen McBean (Black Mountain), Farmer Dave Scher (Beachwood Sparks) and Johnathan Rice, as well as toured extensively internationally, supporting diverse artists such as Father John Misty, Matt Costa, Thee Oh Sees, Kim Deal, The Growlers, Allah Las and Mystic Braves. Despite all of this, she managed to find time to earn a BFA in Music from CalArts.
Embarking on a solo career in 2015, Pearl is set to solidify her own name and place by releasing a 6 song debut EP on Burger Records this summer. Pearl recorded her self-titled EP track by track with a select group of producers and a little help from her friends, many of whom are notable LA musicians in their own right, including Joel Jerome (La Sera, Cherry Glazerr) and Taylor Locke (Rooney). Though she draws inspiration from the legendary scenes of the 60's and 70's, from Laurel Canyon to The Factory, from Haight-Ashbury to Muscle Shoals, she also counts contemporary artists such as Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco, Sharon Van Etten and Jenny Lewis as influences. Pearl Charles writes and sings songs with a distinctly unique voice, creating a sound that is both timeless yet undeniably here, now.

“One of the warmest, most welcome voices in pop music. There’s a beseeching quality to his singing that draws you in with curiosity.”—NPR Music “…a winning platter of ‘60s inspired rock with a singer-songwriter twist.” —American Songwriter   John Doe’s official music video for “Sunlight” premieres today on The Huffington Post. Watch the video here: http://huff.to/1SbvE66. The song appears on Doe’s forthcoming album  The Westerner , which will be released April 29 via Cool Rock Records/Thirty Tigers. See below for complete itinerary. Recently, Doe’s track “Go Baby Go,” featuring Debbie Harry, premiered on Stereogum and the official music video for “Get On Board” premiered on NPR Music, who says, “…colored with plenty of rock ‘n’ roll grit and reverb, Doe exhorts us to partake of a journey that’s both urgent and unavoidable, without getting too specific about the destination.”The album features ten new tracks from Doe with guest appearances from Chan Marshall of Cat PowerDebbie Harry of Blondie, Cindy Wasserman of Dead Rock West and Tom BrosseauThe Westerner was produced by Howe Gelb (Neko Case, M. He was also one of my best friends for over 30 years. Michael taught me how to ride horses (we knocked each other off them several times) and we taught each other about writing, music and art. Many of these songs are about him or use him as the main character. His presence has been with me throughout the making of the record. It’s a wild, spread-out, desert-like life that we’ve lived.” [image error] Doe’s first book,  Under the Big Black Sun: A Personal History of L.A. Punk , will be published on May 1 by Da Capo Press.  Photo: Rick Marr Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds' fourth and strongest album yet for In The Red Records“La Araña Es La Vida”, summons the Mexican muse of The Great Spider Goddess of Teoticuhan, who sprouts hallucinogenic morning glories and protects the underworld, or in Kid’s eyes, the world of underground music.  Recorded at The Harveyville High School gym in Kansas, Guitar slinger and singer, the legendary Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), bassist Kiki Solis (Baby Baby Dance With Me, Knife in The Water, Rhythm of Black Lines), drummer Ron Miller (Switch Hitter, Up The Academy) are joined by Chicano, Mosrite playing guitaristMark Cisneros (Medications, Deathfix) on this self-produced ball of wax.  “La Araña Es La Vida” rocks n rolls it’s way thru a planet of Glamazons (Psychic Future), blisters with the tricks of a “Magic Machine” then gets to work out a low rider groove on “Chicano Studies”.  Tales of gender bending, disembodied heads, gente from La Puente and even a TCB-era, Elvis-inspired rave up on “Karate Monkey” is merely a smatter of the magic on this platter. A limited number of colored vinyl comes with a flexi disc; a cover of the Psychedelic Furs“We Love You”, plus an original tune; “Anything To Say", with the CD featuring a bonus track; “Nasty Hat”, as well as completely different artwork from the vinyl. The world is a wild and woolly place and with “La Araña”, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds will continue to mirror it. Orale! Living La Vida Araña!
