The National to Perform and Campaign for Hillary Clinton in Hometown of Cincinnati
The National to Perform and Campaign for Hillary Clinton in Hometown of Cincinnati

On Wednesday, November 2, American rock band The National will hold a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) performance for Hillary Clinton in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The event will be part of Hillary for America's "Love Trumps Hate" performance series to get out the vote in the final weeks before Election Day on November 8. At the event, the band will perform and urge Ohioans to support Clinton and her vision of an America that is stronger together by voting early or on Election Day. Over the final weeks of the campaign, Ohio voters will hear from The National and other surrogates that Clinton has the experience and steadiness to bring people together and get real results - and that Donald Trump is temperamentally unfit and unqualified to be president. The choice in this election is clear. We can either come together to tackle the big challenges facing the country or let Donald Trump keep tearing us apart with his divisive rhetoric and dangerous ideas. The "Love Trumps Hate" performance series will feature a number of artists performing in battleground states who will energize our supporters and encourage them to turn out to vote on Election Day or to take advantage of early voting options in their states. The performances will also serve as an organizing opportunity to recruit new volunteers and supporters so more Americans can encourage their friends and neighbors to join the millions of voters who will make their voice heard in this year's election. GOTV Performance in Cincinnati with The NationalWhere: The Civic Lawn at Washington Park, 1230 Elm St., Cincinnati When: Wednesday, November 2, 2016 Doors Open: 6:00 PM

SLEIGH BELLS Share Music Video for "I Can Only Stare" + Album Out Nov 11
SLEIGH BELLS
Share new video for "I Can Only Stare" - the music video directorial debut from filmmaker Alex Ross Perry with Sleigh Bells' Derek Miller - watch it HERE
Band to perform on BBC2's Later... With Jools Holland on November 1st & 4th
New album, Jessica Rabbit, out November 11th, 2016 via Torn Clean
(Video still from "I Can Only Stare")Sleigh Bells have today shared a stunning video for their forthcoming single, "I Can Only Stare," the music video directorial debut from the independent filmmaker Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip / Queen Of Earth) along with the band's Derek Miller.
Alex Ross Perry said the following about the video: "I had never been asked to direct anything, at all, ever, prior to Derek reaching out via Instagram about whether or not a collaboration would be something I might consider. I was flattered, and immediately interested. I knew from their prior videos that Sleigh Bells had a particular aesthetic and I was interested in finding ways to bring my working methods to that table. Then instantly, I felt this was a song I could hear a hundred or so times in the filming and editing, which also proved necessary.
From our first conversation, it was clear that Derek and Alexis had a blessedly specific vision for how this video should look, and feel. It was almost like being asked to direct something somebody else had written. However the extent to which the band trusted me to realize these ideas, from shooting on my preferred format of Super 16mm film with my regular cinematographer Sean Price Williams to using rear projection instead of green screen for certain scenes, made me feel like an equal partner whose ideas pushed the concept to places no other director might have pursued."
The band's Derek Miller said the following about the collaboration: "The video follows three doomed women, all played by Alexis. It's bleak but hopefully inspiring, too. Most of us have probably felt like one or all three of these characters at some point in time. I know I have. Making this was cathartic. We had the privilege of working with Alex Ross Perry, one of my favorite young writer/directors, Sean Price Williams (badass Director of Photography) and a really, really great crew. Alex's last film, Queen of Earth, was one of my favorites of 2015. There's a tense, ominous quality to it which I hoped he would bring to the video. He did. His decision to shoot on Super 16mm film helped avoid the slick crispness we had grown tired of with digital cameras. It was a great experience. And a huge debt is owed to Robert Richardson, my favorite cinematographer. We ripped Mr. Richardson off big time for the rear projection screen performance footage."

"I Can Only Stare" is the latest offering from the Brooklyn-based duo's forthcoming album,J essica Rabbit , set for release on November 11th, 2016 via the band's newly-formed label Torn Clean in the U.S.
Sleigh Bells, who are known for their intense live shows and commanding stage presence, have also been invited to perform for the first time on BBC2's Later... With Jools Holland on November 1st and 4th, 2016.
Jessica Rabbit is an album that does not sound like anything Sleigh Bells has ever done - or anyone has ever done, for that matter. It is the sonic equivalent of firing synapses, with melodies zig-zagging in different directions in a beautiful and ever-modulating controlled chaos. It is playful but darkly so; flirtatious but caustic; ebullient but downright sinister. Singer Alexis Krauss has moved from the baby coo of the band's earlier material into full powerhouse mode, singing with a visceral urgency that was absent from previous releases. Tempo changes stretch the songs in different directions, like an attention span gone haywire. It is a record that is wholly unique in sound and purpose, an unabashed and unafraid statement from a band that has made offending rote conceptions of pop music their signature and greatest strength.
Jessica Rabbit is available for pre-order now at the following stores: iTunes / Limited Edition LP / CD.

Ramonda Hammer Share New Single "Zombie Sweater" with Brooklyn Vegan, On Tour Now
Ramonda Hammer Share New Single "Zombie Sweater" with Brooklyn Vegan Los Angeles November Residency at The Hi-Hat AnnouncedOn Tour Now

"Ramonda Hammer strikes a thin dichotomy between thrasher-pop anxiety and a rocker's shoulder shrug." Earmilk
"Ramonda Hammer have perfected an indie-rock sound that’s equal parts power and melody."- LA Weekly
"Crunchy, grungey, no-B.S. ’90s-style alt-rock, with Davis’ gritty vocals wailing through the quartet’s muscular hooks and rhythms." - Buzzbands LA
Stream: "Zombie Sweater" at Brooklyn Vegan or SoundCloud
Ramonda Hammer have shared their new single "Zombie Sweater" with Brooklyn Vegan. "Zombie Sweater" will be available on New Professor Music via Bandcamp and all streaming services on Halloween. The song follows up their critically acclaimed album Whatever That Means which was released this spring. Ramonda Hammer is currently on tour with shows coming up in Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago and have announced a November Residency at the Hi-Hat in Los Angeles. All upcoming shows are listed below.
Ramonda Hammer is a grunge-pop project from Los Angeles, CA. To answer the question you’re inevitably going to ask, the band’s name is taken from a lady who was featured on the once-popular reality television show Cheaters. The show, in and of itself, represents how front-woman and band founder Devin Davis views life - it’s a mix of sad and funny, some people learn and some people don’t, and we take what we can to do what we can. Plus “Ramonda Hammer” just sounds cool. The band delivers a familiar yet unconventional sound. Davis’s songwriting plays with quirky chord progressions, time signature and tempo changes, and dynamic vocal melodies - akin to many of the alternative and grunge bands that made an impact in the 90s. Her lyrics are thoughtful and charmingly raucous, and the songs are symptomatic of heartbreak, angst, self-destruction, self-soothing, human ignorance, and the uncontrollable. The other three fourths of Ramonda Hammer - Andy Hengl, Justin Geter, and Danny Louangxay - turn Davis’ songs into fully flourished anthems! Each instrument has their unique presence - Andy’s melodic and rhythmically clever bass lines, Justin’s unrelentingly expressive guitar riffs, and Danny’s easily aggressive pounding on the drums (not to mention the contagious, excited smile on his face). Although the parts are well thought out, when you get these guys live, it feels like everything magically comes together right there on the spot, and audiences can’t help but be enamored with what this group is doing. After a very successful Kickstarter campaign in September 2015, Ramonda Hammer recorded their first album with Grammy-nominated sound engineer Morgan Stratton. The album is titled Whatever That Means, which is not only a playful nod to everyone who’s puzzled by the band’s name, but is a lyric from a track on the album called “See”, in which Davis wails, “I hate that all I write about is how I feel about the people that I care about, and I’ll try to have more depth...whatever that means!” The album was released April 29, 2016, and the band has been touring it all over the U.S. in support of the album. Ramonda Hammer signed to the New Professor Music label in October 2016 and plan to release an EP and album next year. Ramonda Hammer Tour Dates

About Hazel English:
Hazel English is a 25-year-old Oakland-based artist who makes beautifully blurry indie pop powered by transcendent melodies, and caked in layers of Californian sunshine and redolent reverb. Meticulously clad head-to-toe in a seemingly endless supply of dress-up thrift-store costumes, a glance at any of Hazel's social networks reveals a vivid portal into her timeless world, where sun-bleached snaps bely a million possible stories. She's an artist for whom the visuals and music go hand-in-hand.
Early demos released on her Soundcloud racked up over a million plays combined, making her somewhat of an online sensation before she was ever signed. Now armed with her debut 12-inch vinyl EP, Never Going Home, Hazel collates a brilliant snapshot of her DIY creations to date. Jay Som - Turn Into

Turn Into
Polyvinyl Records
22 July 2016Jay Som represents the musical vision of San Francisco singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Melina Duterte. Constantly shifting, that vision embraces indie, alternative, pop, and even a little shoegaze assembled by its architects hand like an infinite puzzle with no border. This unpredictable sonic sensibility is threaded together by melody but never bound to it. Turn Into [Polyvinyl Records], a collection of finished and unfinished songs written, recorded, and mixed between March 2014-October 2015, offers a snapshot of her musical evolution up to this point.
Her self-described headphone music is the product of a full musical immersion that began during her childhood in the Bay Area. Born to a DJ dad and singer mom, she spent her formative years studying old cassettes and records as well as performing on the family karaoke machine. She picked up trumpet before eventually teaching herself guitar.
Duterte started uploading her music to Soundcloud as Jay Soma moniker she randomly found via an online baby name generator meaning, Victory Moon. By 2015, she had accumulated a growing following on Soundcloud and Bandcamp. After a few too many glasses of wine on Thanksgiving, she decided to unveil an early version of Turn Into online, performing every instrumentguitar, bass, keys, and drums.
Signing to Polyvinyl Records, Turn Into gets a proper release in 2016. Its first single Ghost simultaneously haunts and hypnotizes as her voice hums a shimmering harmony punctuated by fits of fuzzed-out six-string emotion, acoustic unease, and poignant personal lyricism.
Elsewhere, Why I Say No rides the crest of a surf guitar swell, while a whimsical and wild guitar lead jostles Next To Me. The distorted trudge of Drown beckons, while the title track offers a sun-soaked send-off.
2016 also saw her release a one-off 7-inch of I Think Youre Alright and Rush on Fat Possum Records in addition to embarking on her first proper tour with Mitski and Japanese Breakfast. Next up, Duterte will release her official full-length debut album for Polyvinyl in 2017, further welcoming listeners into her vision.

Anna Meredith debuts video for "The Vapours" + UK/Europe dates
ANNA MEREDITH DEBUTS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “THE VAPOURS”
FROM ACCLAIMED DEBUT ALBUM VARMINTSOUT NOW ON MOSHI MOSHI RECORDS
Celebrated UK composer and electronic artist Anna Meredith is excited to share the new music video for “The Vapours”, taken off her debut album Varmints, named “Best New Music” by Pitchfork and released this past March via Moshi Moshi Records. “I wanted to capture the organised chaos of the song by filming each band member individually performing their parts within a white cube and cutting between them as they come in and out of the song, throughout until the big finale,” explains director Ed Warren. “All the lighting and laser work was triggered live as if an on-stage performance in an attempt to mirror the energy and complexity of the song itself.” Anna Meredith is set to embark upon a string of UK and European live shows, including her biggest headline show to date London’s Scala on November 23rd. Upcoming tour dates below.

Varmints was recorded with drummer and percussionist Sam Wilson, guitarist Jack Ross and cellist Gemma Kost, at the famous Aldeburgh Music in Suffolk, Hackney Road Studios in London and Meredith’s own flat. The record opens with the enormous and brassy surge of “Nautilus” which Meredith describes as: “the best version of me, the most confident and bombastic. The best I can be, with three gins!” There’s the complexity of “Shill”, a piece that Meredith conceived as a “punk palate cleanser” and a kind of “workout” for her orchestrally experienced collaborators. The thready, ticking pulse of the closing “Blackfriars”, meanwhile, crosses into new territory for Meredith, marking out a more personal course. “It’s different to everything else, it’s quite personal. I wouldn’t normally want to write about things happening to me but I did have a bit of a terrible time last year - I was a bit heartbroken - and it was the first time I’ve tried to work out a feeling like that in a track.”
Aside from sharing bills with Anna Calvi, James Blake and These New Puritans, Meredith has written a piece for MRI scanner, soundtracked PRADA’s Spring/Summer 2015 campaign, created symphonies for nursery children, and music for park benches in Hong Kong and sleep-pods in Singapore. Recent performances at the BBC Proms have included collaborations with Laura Marling and The Stranglers for the first 6Music Prom, a performance of her body-percussion piece ‘Connect It’ from the BBC Ten Pieces project and her aforementioned Last Night of the Proms composition ‘Froms.’

Miya Folick, the LA-based artist behind last year's acclaimed Strange Darling EP, has just shared the new song "God Is a Woman" on digital platforms. The song already has early worldwide support from Apple Music, where the song was named "World Record" on Zane Lowe's taste-makingBeats 1 show, as well as on Spotify, who have just included the song in several playlists across the platform including a featured slot on the
New Indie Mix
.The new song trades the bombast of her live shows for a deeply layered, contemplative arrangement, marking the most pop-prone entry in her oeuvre to date."God Is a Woman" follows August's stand-alone single "Pet Body," which was widely acclaimed for is uniquely ferocious take on surf-rock and landed her a support slot on the east coast leg of Sleigh Bell's US tour.LISTEN TO MIYA'S INTERVIEW ON ZANE LOWEhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/post/idsa.45164ef0-9a06-11e6-91d4-ff2117c0f341

Frankie Cosmos, the band led by singer-songwriter Greta Kline, will be releasing a limited edition cassette tape featuring cover songs this fall. The tape will be available for the first time at Webster Hall on November 13th, the biggest New York headline play to date and a perfect homecoming to round out what has been a huge year for the band.
Kline told us how the collection of songs came about, saying, "whenever I'm really excited about a song I want to learn it, and it becomes the first thing I play every time I pick up an instrument. These are all songs by people I know and have seen perform a lot and have been inspired by. I recorded these covers last winter in my bedroom."
It's been non stop for Frankie Cosmos, playing shows around North America and the UK and Europe, the band is currently on the road here in the US and will be returning to Europe for a much anticipated stop at Iceland Airwaves festival before. All tour dates are listed below.
Next Thing has received critical acclaim across the board from everyone including The New York Times, Rolling Stone and Pitchfork and is sure to feature on several Best Of 2016 End Of Year Lists. If you haven't yet experienced world of Frankie Cosmos, now is the time, you can download or stream the album in full.
Acclaim for Next Thing:
"Next Thing shows that as the group continues to grow up, Kline's clear-eyed observation and youthful disaffection only feel more vital." Rolling Stone
"Frankie Cosmos, led by singer Greta Kline, makes wonderfully light, breezy, sweet songs that are just delightful." NPR
"Frankie Cosmos manages to be both devastating and uplifting. The young indie musician's greatest talents lie in her lyrics; she's a wordsmith who's brevity hints at suppressed emotions beneath the surface...Next Thing is a gem that speaks to the soul." BUST
"Kline has created a perfectly insular work, one whose songs display a newfound textual richness while retaining their unkempt edges." Under The Radar
"Kline recalls the legible confessionals of Colleen Green or Kimya Dawson and the bright-eyed melancholy of Beat Happening or Cub, all while building from her greatest strength: being immediately and deliberately herself." SPIN
"This patchwork of tracks makes for an album that doesn't have much of a thematic through-line beyond the anxiety-ridden adolescence that Kline's songwriting naturally gravitates towards, but it does result in 15 songs worth of the sharpest, most accomplished Frankie Cosmos material to date." Stereogum
"On Next Thing, Frankie Cosmos stands tall as an individual in a sea of bland lo-fi dudes, unfolding 15 songs in the palms of her hands that are endlessly re-playable." Consequence of Sound
