Goldfrapp Shares Video for "Anymore," New Album Out March 31

PREMIERES NEW VIDEO
“ANYMORE”

ANNOUNCES NYC SHOWS

NEW ALBUM
SILVER EYE
OUT MARCH 31, 2017 VIA MUTE
Self Portrait
Goldfrapp reveals the video for their latest single “Anymore,” taken from their seventh studio album Silver Eye, out on March 31st through Mute.

Alison led the creative for all visuals on the album and played a crucial role in the direction of the video for “Anymore.” The surreal and elemental nature of the island along with striking choreography makes for an intriguing and beautiful contrast to the metallic nature of the track.

On making the video Alison said:

“The ‘Anymore’ video was shot on the strange & beautiful island of Fuerteventura. I love the volcanic rock and dunes which were also the setting for the still images I took.”

Watch HERE.

Goldfrapp also announces two special New York shows at new venue Brooklyn Steel, April 26th and 27th.  Tickets are on sale February 17th with exclusive fan pre-sales from Feb 15th, including special ticket/album bundles.  Sign up to the mailing list at goldfrapp.com for more details. The duo’s March 27th show at London’s Roundhouse sold out in less than 2 hours.

Goldfrapp follow up 2013’s album Tales of Us with the deep, dark and electronic musical palette of Silver Eye. The new studio album features an eclectic collection of new collaborators including John Congleton (Grammy-winning producer of St. Vincent, John Grant and Wild Beasts), electronic composer Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak), and Brian Eno collaborator Leo Abrahams, who added abstract guitar textures. The album was mixed by David Wrench (The xx, FKA Twigs, Caribou).

The volcanic island of Fuerteventura that serves as the backdrop for the “Anymore” video and Alison’s new series of self portraits for this album are a total compliment to the elemental drama of Silver Eye.  With its black sands, stark cliffs, rolling dunes and blazing blue skies as a back drop for the stunning twins Alison discovered on the streets of London, Alison has created a set of visuals that are as arresting as they are idiosyncratic.  In demand more and more as a photographer, Alison has been commissioned for other projects, including shooting Laura Mvula live at Somerset House.

Silver Eye is out March 31st and available to pre-order  HERE .

Honeyblood Release Video for "Babes Never Die," 'Babes Never Die' out now on FatCat Records

HONEYBLOOD RELEASE VIDEO FOR "BABES NEVER DIE"
ANNOUNCE WORLD TOURON FAT CAT RECORDS
"Honeyblood's ambitious, unsettled Babes Never Die is a riotous success." -  The AV Club
"Scottish duo Honeyblood play pumped-up punk rock that's both exhilarating and jubilant-music with fun melodies that jump off the walls."  SPIN
Watch the video for "Babes Never Die"Directed and edited by Gareth Goodlad
Glasgow two-piece - frontwoman Stina Tweeddale and drummer Cat Myers are back with the video to their electrifying single "Babes Never Die." The song is from their critically acclaimed and heavily buzzed sophomore album Babes Never Die which is out now on Fat Cat Records.
Shot across their recent world tour, the video includes footage shot by many different photographers and fans, capturing their incendiary live performances, as well as behind-the-scenes snippets from the band's own tour diary. It perfectly captures the raw intensity of their live show as well as a glimpse into the world of Stina and Cat backstage and touring. It's released as the band announce their biggest ever tour to date, starting in Australia via Asia, and working their way back across 30 dates to their biggest ever headline show at London's legendary Koko on June 16th.

Commenting on the video, Honeyblood's Stina says; "This video has such a special significance to us. It was filmed over three months of shows throughout the US and UK. It's a real snapshot of that tour and what it's like for us on the road. Most of the travel and backstage footage was filmed by Cat and I on our phones. However, we could not have made it without great folk getting involved and filming at the shows!"
Stereogum premiered the video today and noted, "Stina Tweeddale and Cat Myers captured phone video from backstage and the highway, and it's all rolled up along with an abundance of performance footage into one of those classic road videos - one that really gives you a sense of who these people are while ultimately letting the super-catchy music speak for itself."
Babes Never Die is the follow-up to their eponymous debut, Honeyblood
"The Glaswegian pop-punk duo's third LP slips agitated misanthropy into hummable tunes like "Cruel," in which gentle power chords flutter while Tweeddale wonders how much more of her shit her boyfriend will suffer...Elsewhere, "Ready for the Magic" and "Sea Hearts" pile up boomerang guitars and liquor-soaked prophecies to make playing jump-rope with your heartstrings seem like an Olympic sport."  - Rolling Stone
"Scottish punk duo Honeyblood had a stellar string of one-offs after their self-titled 2014 debut, and today they continue the streak with the fun, frenzied "Sea Hearts." A muted 4-bar lures you in before they sucker punch you with plenty of fuzz and lyrics about "sipping tequila after dark." The song then dissolves into a more rhythmic earworm hook, and it all exudes the carefree, playful audacity that we've come to expect from the band."  - Stereogum
""Sea Hearts" hits like an endorphin rush. Tweeddale's guitar is fuzzy grunge fun, her melody is as catchy as a pop song, and drummer Cat Myers provides both pep-squad harmony and a crashing wall of drums that give the song precisely the havoc Tweeddale imagined." - Bitch Media
"It's fuzzed up, 90s-indebted indie rock that'll make you wanna mosh and destroy stuff and do shots and headbang and run real fast and ride your bike with your hands nowhere near the handlebars." - Noisey
"Their 2016 record Babes Never Die teems with the muscularity of "Killer Bangs," but it's tighter and louder and sustains the adrenaline through rocking anthems like "Ready for the Magic," "Walking at Midnight," and "Sea Hearts." "Justine, Misery Queen" and "Sister Wolf" fuel the 90s-nostalgia fire, referencing the power cum sweetness of Juliana Hatfield and the Breeders, which feels particularly impressive for a duo." - Chicago Reader
"With growing anticipation surrounding the release of their new album, Babes Never Die, Honeyblood are giving fans the insanely catchy pop-punk track "Sea Hearts."NYLON, 24 Best Must Releases of the Week
"These shreddin' Scots have cashed out the dreamier guise of their self-titled debut for more jagged edges on this boldly-titled follow-up." Under The Radar
"Beyond the punk snarl salt and the saccharine melodies, though, Honeyblood's arguably greatest achievement is a stage presence much too big to be from just two people. Tweeddale has a hand in that, with her side of the stage banter, but when drummer Cat Myers channels her inner John Bonham on her kit you'll find it hard to look away. She wears an innocent smile, but she's a downright ferocious percussionist, lending Tweeddale's vocals the muscular grooves that drive her words home."  - The Key WXPN

Mysteryland USA 2017 Unveils Genre-Bending Lineup featuring headliners G-Eazy (Friday), LCD Soundsystem (Saturday), Major Lazer (Sunday) + many others!
Bethel Woods, NY - Celebrating its fourth annual stateside residency and 25th year in existence, the world’s longest-running electronic music festival, Mysteryland, will open a portal to an extraordinary world this June 9th - 12th, 2017, inviting fans to enter the gates of Bethel Woods, New York. Embracing its roots as home to the legendary Woodstock festival, the masterful creators behind Mysteryland USA have completely reimagined the musical landscape of Bethel Woods for this year’s edition, assembling an all-star cast of emerging artists alongside a master class of talent.
Captivating the Catskill Mountains this summer will be the smooth flows of G-Eazy, closing out Friday and the first night of Mysteryland USA. Also joining the roster of headliners are Brooklyn’s own LCD Soundsystem performing on Saturday night amid rumors of a forthcoming studio album and following an epic comeback tour in 2016, plus the always-electrifying Major Lazer, who will undoubtedly leave revelers wanting more during the grand finale on Sunday night. Setting the stage for an insanely dynamic weekend, the headliners offer up a taste of what to expect as Mysteryland USA expands this year’s curation beyond the realm of traditional dance music to include a more diverse selection of music genres, satisfying festival aficionados across the board.
Supporting headliner acts include the sultry horn swagger of Colorado’s Big Gigantic juxtaposed against South Africa’s explosive, rave-rap orchestrators of dance Die Antwoord, plus the imaginative sounds of prodigal producer Porter Robinson colliding across the grounds with relentless beats delivered by kingpin of trap music, RL Grime. Recently dubbed “hip hop’s most intense truth tellers” by Rolling Stone, Killer Mike and El-P complete the full list of 2017 headliners, dominating the stage together as fierce rap duo Run The Jewels.
Mysteryland USA turned to the concrete jungle of New York to further complement the incredible lineup, bringing illuminating live-act Bob Moses, electro-chill producer Jai Wolf and Founder of Fool’s Gold Records, turntablist and driving force in the electronic-rap movement A-Trak to the fields. Rounding out the list of top names include Eats Everything, Baauer, Louis The Child, Cashmere Cat, futuristic beat architect Clams Casino, Duke Dumont, Robert Delong, Elohim, Skream, Hot Creations label frontman and 2017 Mysteryland stage host Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Ekali, tastemaking queen of bass Anna Lunoe, acid house DJ/producer Boys Noize, Ghastly, and Snails.

Annie Hardy (Giant Drag) Announces Solo Debut Out 4/7 + "Want" ft. Don Bolles (The Germs), Stephen McBean (Pink Mountaintops, Black Mountain)

Annie Hardy (Giant Drag)

Announces Solo Debut Album Rules
Out 4/7 on Full Psycho/American Primitive Records

" Want " ft. Don Bolles (The Germs) + Stephen McBean
(Pink Mountaintops, Black Mountain) Revealed Today

“edgy pop” - The New Yorker

“If Kurt Cobain and PJ Harvey had a daughter she might write fuzzy quaaude-rock
tunes like this duo’s charismatic Annie Hardy” - SPIN

“The austerely funereal, organ-pumped ode “Batman” (named after the superhero onesie Silvio was wearing the day he died) echoes the fragile, childlike yearning of Daniel Johnston” - LA Weekly

“After my son died, it all had to come back out. … Writing these songs saved me.” - Annie Hardy

“It’s Mazzy Star for perverts, basically.” - Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield

“Annie Hardy packs a punch, from her gauzy guitar tones to her arresting stage
presence to her potty mouth.” - The Los Angeles Times

Annie Hardy began her illustrious career as lead singer, songwriter and guitarist ofGiant Drag over a decade ago. She returns to the public eye with her debut solo effort titled  Rules  on Full Psycho/American Primitive Records with contributions from Don Bolles (The Germs)Stephen McBean (Pink Mountaintops, Black Mountain) and Petra Haden (The Dog) on “Jesus Loves Me”. Written during a period of time during which she lost both her baby to SIDS at 17 days old as well as the baby’s father, her boyfriend Robert Paulson, the record is simultaneously beautiful and tragic. On Rules Annie trades in the grunge-pop grooves of Giant Drag for experimental art-punk, exposing her fragility in a way she never has before.

Lead by brooding synth organ and raw vocals, “High Forever” embraces the idea that one has to cherish the happy times as the highs always wear off. A masterful punk storm of primal prose “Shadow Mode” is about wanting someone to come save you but they’re not willing or able to do so. Written in one very quick, flowing take in her garage " Want " is a pleading, open wound of a lead single featuring Don Bolles from The Germs on drums and Stephen McBean from Pink Mountaintops and Black Mountain on guitar.

Lead single " Want " is out today.

Often compared to bands such as My Bloody Valentine and PJ Harvey, Giant Drag played Coachella and the Reading and Leeds festivals as well as touring with Scissor Sisters, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Jesus and Mary Chain and many more. After surviving two years of incredible personal loss, Annie Hardy returns to release a powerful poignant solo debut. Stay tuned for more news and opportunities to see her live coming soon.

New Studio Album Spirit Available Globally on March 17th on Columbia Records; Pre-Order Available Now Press Assets:  https://sm01.box.com/v/DMWTR
(Columbia Records; New York, NY; February 9, 2017) – Iconic, multi-platinum selling musical pioneers Depeche Mode have debuted the music video for their new single “ Where’s The Revolution ” today. Watch the video, directed by the band’s longtime creative collaborator, Dutch photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn, here: http://smarturl.it/WTRvideo

Following in Depeche Mode’s tradition of releasing forward thinking, cinematic videos, “Where’s the Revolution” is threaded with a dystopian vibe, punctuated by a muted color scheme and an army of marching dancers. Set in a harsh industrial landscape, the video provides a perfect visual commentary for what Dave Gahan referred to in a recent Rolling Stone interview as an album “…about humanity, and our place in that".

The release of the video follows a major social media announcement yesterday that the band will be handing over their Facebook page to their fans for a year.  Any fan interested in becoming the page’s administrator for a day can now apply at takeover.depechemode.com. The band will be recruiting hundreds of curators from their diverse fan base – one curator per day for 365 days.

Where’s The Revolution” is the first new music from the band in four years and the first offering from their upcoming album,  Spirit.   Available now for preorder,  Spirit  will be released digitally and physically worldwide as a standard 12 track album on March 17th on Columbia Records.  The band will also release a 2-CD Deluxe version of the album featuring a special 28-page booklet of exclusive artwork and photos, along with 5 remixes created by Depeche Mode, Matrixxman and Kurt Uenala, collectively entitled the ‘Jungle Spirit Mixes’.  The vinyl version of  Spirit  will be released on two 180 gram LPs, featuring the standard album and a special SPIRIT etching on the 4th side. Pre-order  Spirit  from digital retailers here:  smarturl.it/Spirit

Spirit  marks the band’s first collaboration with producer James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco (Foals, Florence & The Machine, Arctic Monkeys) and serves as the follow up to the band’s blockbuster 2013 album  Delta Machine  which debuted at #1 in 12 countries.  The album has already garnered critical acclaim in early previews, with Q Magazine calling  Spirit  “the most energized Depeche Mode album in years”.

Depeche Mode will support the release of the LP with an extensive world tourgiving both new and lifelong fans alike a chance to experience the band’s stunning live shows. The first leg of theGlobal Spirit Tour, on sale now, will see the band play to over 1.5 million fans at 34 shows in 21 countries throughout Europe. The tour kicks off May 5th in Stockholm, Sweden and will stop at stadiums across Europe before continuing beyond summer with shows in North and South America. “...a renowned, groundbreaking force… Varmints is a knockout, the kind that makes you see cartoon stars.” - Pitchfork
“one of the most exciting debut albums of 2016” - Buzzfeed
“Anna’s music sounds to me like a very talented and curious child was let loose inside an exhaustive and very large sonic candy store. And then the result was encrusted with gemstones. Very bad for your teeth but great for your ears” - John Grant
“There's more than a fair chance that the set of Meredith sounds one hears first will be nothing like the next, common threads being a love of compositions that build and a comfort with rhythm and textures which places her in both the contemporary classical community and the experimental electronic music camp. Neither allegiance is tenuous.” - NPR Music

She’s building something even more spectacular for the year ahead, including the dates for her US Debut, and there’s never been a better time to catch this unique artist.

What people are saying about Memories Are Now
“Hoop has been a free spirit, but with Memories Are Now, she understands exactly when to use the bridle and bit on these wild, wise songs.”  [4/5] -  Mojo

Memories Are Now is built on stacked voices, sparse rhythm and twisted folk shapes, but the execution varies pleasingly, from the Native American blues of “Cut Connection” to the autumnal bucolia of “Songs Of Old.”  [8/10] -  Uncut

Daringly astute and gleamingly sincere, assertive and eloquent.” [8/10] -  PopMatters

“One of her best albums to date. Stunning." -  The Sunday Times

“An admirably sharp and focused collection of songs." [4/5] - Record Collector

“This project has an air of rebirth to it. Hoop and her producer, Blake Mills, have worked to minimize her trademark lush arrangements to make Memories more reminiscent of a live setting. The spare “Animal Kingdom Chaotic” is built around fingerpicked string-work and typewriter clicks. Its Americana-leaning follow-up, “Simon Says,” relies only on a lightly distorted six-string, an upright bass and Hoop’s layered harmonies.” - PASTE
