Musical pioneers WIRE will release their 15th studio album Silver/Lead on March 31, the eve of their 40th anniversary. However this is an album with its sights firmly set on the future. On April 1, 2017, the anniversary of the band’s first gig as the “classic 4 piece” at the Roxy Club. London, WIRE will be giving a headline performance at the Los Angeles edition of the band’s boutique city festival DRILL : LA, a unique festival to mark “40 years of not looking back.” Wire have announced the addition of Mikal Cronin with a string & horn ensemble and Wand to the upcoming DRILL : LA festival taking place March 30 - April 2 at The Echo and Echoplex. Tickets for DRILL : LA are avaialble HERE.

The idea being to bring together the best overview of both classic left field artists and new and emerging cutting edge talent. There will be several more DRILL : FESTIVALS taking place this spring, each featuring unique line ups. Details of the festivals will be announced shortly. Updated info can be found at www.drillfestival.comOn Silver/Lead, Colin Newman and Matt Simms’ guitar work is alternately jagged and luminous, while bassist Graham Lewis’s ear-catching lyrics are vivid yet oblique. Meanwhile, drummer Robert Grey provides a virtual masterclass in percussive minimalism. But it’s how the various instruments mesh together that really counts. And Newman’s production creates a sonic space in which even the smallest gesture is accorded some recognition.Highlights include the optimistic dazzle of “Diamonds In Cups,” with its almost T. Rex-style buzz and chug, and the moody swing of “This Time.” Elsewhere on the musical spectrum, there’s the menacing widescreen grandeur of "Playing Harp For The Fishes" and breakneck-paced guitar pop of "Short Elevated Period."Wire are one of the world’s most ground-breaking bands, their influence acknowledged by bands as diverse as Blur, Sonic Youth, R.E.M. and Savages. But they have never been interested in exploiting past glories. For Wire, there is only ever one possible direction: forwards. So it’s perhaps not surprising that over recent years, they’ve played strings of sold-out shows, achieved career-best record sales, and been cited as a strong influence by yet another generation of bands.Wire’s last three albums garnered nothing but rave reviews. From 2013’s strangely beautifulChange Becomes Us (“It’s fantastic.” – Pitchfork) to the crackling motorik of 2015’s Wire (“It’s all really well turned, potent and crisp.” – The Guardian), and last year’s punchy mini-album Nocturnal Koreans (“It's a cracker and sounds defiantly modern.” – The Quietus). Consequently, although it may be being released on the band’s 40th anniversary, Silver/Lead is an album which has nothing to do with the past and everything to do with the future.

Molly's timeless and stunning voice is the first thing you'll notice on Please Be Mine. It's smoky, with an incredible range, effortlessly evocative of her early influences. Burch Burch grew up in LA with a writer/producer father and a casting director mother - her childhood was filled with old Hollywood musicals and the sounds of Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone which bleed through her sound. After finding her voice in adolescence, Burch packed up to study Jazz Vocal Performance in Asheville.
After relocating to Austin after college, Burch began to write her own music in earnest, with the lovelorn Everly Brothers and Sam Cooke as her songwriting guides. Burch and boyfriend Dailey Toliver connected with Dan Duszynski of Cross Record, and they recorded all the songs on Please Be Mine at his idyllic studio in Dripping Springs, TX.
Please Be Mine is Molly Burch's debut full length and is available today on Captured Tracks. Check out a full list of live dates below and stay tuned for a complete list of showcases at this year's SXSW.

Laura Marling Shares Music Video for "Next Time" + Album Out March 10

Watch "Next Time" HERE
"Next Time" is the latest taster to another richly accomplished record by the peerless young British musician. As a body of work, Semper Femina follows a loose, lyrical thread of feminine exploration. It drops a light on an unspecified 'muse' of Laura's, and sweeps in and out of focus on how the acclaimed musician views femininity as the years pass. It's not a concept record per se, but that aforementioned thread unravels and reaffirms throughout the record's duration. "Next Time" follows "Soothing" by introducing Laura as not only artist but as director too. A final self-produced video is due to be shared later in the Spring. Pre-order Semper Femina here:http://smarturl.it/lauramarlingwebsite As well as being able to pre-order the record, in collaboration with Kobalt you can also "pre-save" the record to your Spotify Library. Using new, innovative technology, simply by following a link and signing in with your Spotify login the album will be automatically added to your collection when it's released. Pre-save Semper Femina on Spotify here:http://smarturl.it/SemperFeminaPS Following the release of Semper Femina, Laura hits the road in support of it. The eleven-song album arrives Feb. 24 via Ipecac Recordings. An article that discusses the band’s origin and recording sessions accompanies the pre-release listen.
“When the Melvins toured with Le Butcherettes, Teri would come out at the end of the set and do ‘Rebel Girl’ with us,” explained drummer Dale Crover. “It was almost always the highlight of the show! From doing that, we knew there was some chemistry between us that was worth exploring. We became close friends with both Teri and Omar on the tour and came up with the idea of starting a new band with them.”
“Omar caught up with us on the Melvins’ tour because he is an admirer. Through the travels, the Melvins and Omar connected as well,” offered Teri Gender Bender. “Sometimes, Omar and I would fantasize loudly of hopefully being able to form a power together. Before we knew it, we were writing music in the studio (both in El Paso and L.A.) and birthed a magical little gem that I am extremely proud to be a part of.”

London O'Connor shares new music video + Playing Brooklyn 2/22 + Official album release
LONDON O'CONNOR SHARES "NOBODY HANGS OUT ANYMORE" VIDEO VIA NPR
DEBUT ALBUM O∆ OUT TODAY

Today, self-produced American songwriter London O'Connor officially releases the re-mastered version of his debut album, O∆, via New York City-based record label True Panther Sounds. To coincide with the album release, London also shared his self-directed music video for his melancholy ode to the smart phone-obsessed internet generation, "Nobody Hangs Out Anymore." London shared the video via NPR and spoke with them about the song.
Along with the release, London will be performing his first proper headline shows in NYC and London. On February 22nd, he will be headlining Rough Trade in Brooklyn on with Honduras and Quiet Luke. Early arrivals will be treated to the O∆ VR experience, where attendees will have the chance to explore a virtual expanse scored by London's ambient/spatial music. Directly following NYC, London will be heading out on a West Coast run of dates alongside BadBadNotGood and Hodgy, playing San Francisco, Santa Ana, and Los Angeles.
A few days before he plays the second release show at The Montague Arms in London on March 21st, London will play in support of Glass Animals at their sold out show at O2 Brixton Academy on March 16th. Following the UK plays, London will make his Paris debut at Les Bains on March 23rd.
O∆ is now available on all digital and physical formats. A deluxe version of the vinyl is also available which arrives with a 3' x 5' signature O∆ flag. Order the deluxe edition, download the album and stay up to date with London at CircleTriangle.Earth. Check out the full album details, upcoming live dates, and learn more about London O'Connor below.

Upon self-releasing O∆ on SoundCloud and as a free download, London's diary-like accounts and immediate pop songs wooed both critics and fans alike. His energetic live show atop his one-of-one light cube impressed on both sides of the pond just months after the initial release of the album. His first chapter "OATMEAL," the present and relatable "Nobody Hangs Out Anymore," and the I-hate-everything anthem "GUTS" were instant streaming favorites that all wound up getting play on BBC Radio 1 and American non comm radio stations. While the epic album closer "SURVIVE" found a whole new meaning when a room full of music lovers and industry folk in France sang along in sync with O'Connor mere days after the tragic events at The Bataclan Theatre.
O∆ is a post-any-genre narrative told through vivid and visual production he made from the contents of his backpack while sleeping on floors and couches in New York City. It details the suburban world he grew up in and fled from in Southern California years before. The cinematic album also acts as a rallying cry and arrived hand-in-hand with a direct message from O'Connor: "If when you hear it, you feel like its talking about where you live, then I want you to leave."
The original version of the album lingers on the internet along with a tweet of his cellphone number "if you're from nowhere I'm here until my cell phone explodes 858 232 9290." The creative direction of London's body of art and the viscerality of its themes to overcome one's environment liken the symbol, O∆, in the eyes of his fans to one perceived like the emblem for the Rebel Alliance. While London travels and crafts his second album, a remastered version of O∆ is now available physically and digitally on True Panther Sounds.
"A singular talent" - The Guardian
"Effortless and blissful, like falling asleep in the grass" - Dazed

Karen Elson Shares New Track "Call Your Name" Sophomore album Double Roses To Be Released April 7th on H.O.T Records Ltd SXSW + New York City + Nashville Live Dates Announced
English-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Karen Elson shares her new single "Call Your Name," which was produced by Jonathan Wilson and Pat Carney. Currently streaming on Noise y it will be released Friday, February 17th. Elson says about the track, "Originally, when I wrote 'Call Your Name,' I wanted it be a duet, but I realized that the song is about the two sides of me; the dark and light battling each other. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror and realize that no-one, in essence, can save you from yourself! It's also a question of my identity, who am I when you strip away the smoke and mirrors." Listen to "Call Your Name" via Noisey HERE Karen Elson is heading to Austin, TX in March for SXSW. She has also added a special performance with M. Ward in Nashville on March 21st and will celebrate her album release in Nashville at Third Man Records on April 4th and at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on April 7th. Elson will release her sophomore album Double Roses on April 7th, via H.O.T Records Ltd. Elson, who released her debut The Ghost Who Walks in 2010, was recently signed by the LA-based label for the US and 1965 Records (PIAS) for the rest of the world. First album offering, "Distant Shore" features Benmont Tench on keys and Laura Marling on backing vocals. Hear it here. Double Roses was recorded in Los Angeles, at the world-renowned United Studios (neé Ocean Way) in Hollywood, with producer Jonathan Wilson (Jackson Browne, Father John Misty, Conor Oberst). The album features collaborations with an array of musical talent, including Pat Carney, Father John Misty, Laura Marling, Benmont Tench, Pat Sansone (Wilco), Nate Wolcott (Bright Eyes), Paul Cartwright and Dhani Harrison. The title Double Roses is taken from a Sam Shepard poem that appears in his journal collection Motel Chronicles.
