GEORGE HARRISON POP UP EXHIBITION TO TAKE PLACE SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26 IN LOS ANGELES TO COINCIDE WITH BOOK LAUNCH
GEORGE HARRISON - THE VINYL COLLECTION Vinyl Box Set Includes Thirteen Albums From 1968-2002, plus 12” Picture Discs
(Los Angeles – February 24, 2017) The Harrison family is proud to announce the release of George’s autobiography I Me Mine – The Extended Edition  (Genesis Publications) and George Harrison - The Vinyl Collection (UMe) box set featuring all of the musician’s solo studio albums in one collection for the first time today, the eve of what would have been his 74th birthday.
George Harrison’s I Me Mine was originally published by the specialist book publisher, Genesis Publications in 1980.  It became the first of many collaborations between George and Genesis founder, Brian Roylance. In conversation with his friend and former Beatles press officer Derek Taylor, and in a first-person commentary that accompanies his songs, Harrison's own words recount everything from his upbringing in Liverpool, to early Beatlemania, his spirituality and philosophy.  This new extended version of the book now spans the complete length of Harrison’s career in music, told in his words and through 141 songs with hand written lyric sheets faithfully reproduced in full color. Now stretching to 632 pages it features lyrics to more than 50 songs not previously included, as well as new photographs, many unpublished until now.
To commemorate the book’s release Genesis Publications will be holding a pop-up exhibition and store at Shepard Fairey's Subliminal Projects, Los Angeles on Sunday, February 26.
The exhibition will include reproductions of George Harrison's handwritten lyrics and personal commentary on his songs, pictures from the family albums, and original portraits of Harrison by Shepard Fairey.  Rare limited editions on display will include: I Me Mine, Songs by George Harrison 1 and 2, Concert for George, Fifty Years Adrift and Live in Japan.
A special I ME MINE package has been created for the exhibition, consisting of the new book, a poster and book bag; the first 100 customers will receive copies signed by Shepard Fairey.
George Harrison - The Vinyl Collectionincludes all twelve of George’s studio albums with exact replicas of the original release track listing and artwork. Also included in the box set are George’s classic live album Live In Japan (2LP), and two 12” single picture discs of ‘When We Was Fab’ and ‘Got My Mind Set On You’.  All the discs are 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and are housed in a high-quality two-piece rigid slipcase box. The original analogue master tapes were used for the new re-masters and were cut at the legendary Capitol Studios to ensure exceptional audio quality throughout.  The individual albums from the collection will also be available separately, with All Things Must Pass as a limited edition title.

+++ 20 Minute Loop album + poster art by Sara Lautman (The New YorkerThe BelieverThe Pitchfork Review).

Twenty years of 20 Minute Loop is celebrated today with the release of Songs Praising The Mutant Race , the San Francisco-based band’s first album in over eight years, an achievement marked not only by gray hair, ringing ears and creaky knees, but a shit-ton of songs, stories and shows.

The album features stripped-down re-workings of favorites from the band’s catalog – check out the video for longtime favorite “Mercury Vapor” via BLURT , as well as one brand-new song “Giftgas,” which addresses the Holocaust in the context of a pop song with masterful creativity, sensitivity, and reverence. Atwood Magazine has premiered the track along with an extensive editorial discussing its meaning.

Formed by Greg Giles (vocals, guitar) in 1997, and joined by Kelly Atkins (vocals, keyboards, flute) shortly thereafter, the core duo of 20 Minute Loop follows-up the release of five albums, with this, their sixth, and arguably most passionate, recording yet.  The seemingly permanent shelving of 20 Minute Loop due to impossible scheduling, newborn children, and brain-rotting graduate studies, has now given way to Songs Praising The Mutant Race , which offers up stripped down and reinvented versions of ten favorites from the 20 Minute Loop catalog, one cover song, and one never-before-released tune. The record proves that bands may die, but songs don’t. The collection breathes with both the wisdom of age, and renewal.

Inspired by the reactions of longtime fans at a series of intimate house concerts that 20 Minute Loop performed upon initially reforming in 2014, Songs Praising The Mutant Race finds the group recording as a trio in very similar circumstances: live in the room at Ninth Street Opus studios in Berkeley.

In re-imagining, re-arranging, ironing out, and stitching this material back together, the band wanted the songs to shine without being burdened by too much production. Here we have the songs and singers laid bare, accompanied by overdubs from mostly acoustic instruments, including viola, trumpet, flute, accordion, wineglass organ, and more.  The result is a perfect depiction of the vibe from one of the living room concerts that inspired the record, with the band’s visceral lyrics and accompanying tempos taking on a woozy, syrupy overtone that makes these songs feel fresh. Sonically, these new versions focus on the vocal interplay between Giles and Atkins, who sound more like they were born to sing together than ever before.

“Singing with Greg has been the single most important musical relationship of my life,” Atkins explains. “It truly feels like ‘coming home’ for me. The nimble instinct that you have after singing with someone for 20 years is a once-in-a-lifetime treasure.”

That special vocal combination is especially affecting on the album’s opening number and first single “Mercury Vapor,” about which Atkins explains, “The re-do of this song includes Caitlin Tabancay Austin adding a third harmony, which absolutely brings the song to life. It’s frenetic, neurotic and makes me feel like I have a nervous tic every time I sing it – but in a good way.”

As a band that came about and went away in the age of the Compact Disc, 20 Minute Loop is very excited for Songs Praising The Mutant Race to be its first album issued on vinyl, and they are doing it with style. In addition to the usual formats, fans can purchase a beautiful vinyl edition of the album with a jacket illustrated by Sara Lautman, whose work has previously appeared in The New Yorker, The Believer, The Pitchfork Review, The Awl, and other publications.

Songs Praising The Mutant Race by 20 Minute Loop is out now. Members of 20 Minute Loop are available for interviews. Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.

BILLIE EILISH RELEASES NEW TRACK "BELLYACHE"

BILLIE EILISH RELEASES “BELLYACHE” TODAY(DARKROOM/INTERSCOPE RECORDS)

LISTEN
"BELLYACHE"iTunes | Apple Music | Spotify | Amazon
Pop-phenom Billie Eilish has released her highly anticipated new single “Bellyache” today. Available on all digital platforms worldwide, this stellar new single is the third official release to come from the 15-year-old American artist, since entering the musical arena with her debut “ Ocean Eyes .”
Currently sitting at an impressive 40+ million streams, Billie has yet to announce a tour, release an EP/album but has managed to capture the ears, heads and hearts of music fans and the media across the globe with her alluring and self-described “gloom-pop.”
Her meteoric rise first began after innocently uploading “Ocean Eyes” onto Soundcloud (so she could send the track to her dance teacher for an upcoming school recital). Unbeknownst to her, the song quickly caught the attention of influential blogs, went viral and soon went on to become a veritable phenomenon, generating tens-of-millions of plays across various platforms, and gaining the attention and support from the likes Zane Lowe at Beats 1, Annie Mac of BBC Radio 1, Jason Kramer of KCRW.
Suddenly Billie was on the radio, receiving New Music Friday support from Spotify on a global scale and found herself being touted as “ Pop’s Next It Girl ”  by VOGUE Magazine. During Grammy weekend earlier this month Billie was featured as part of CBS’ Lexus Amazing Performances: Artist Spotlight alongside Grammy nominees Gallant and Lukas Graham.
Fast forward to 2017 and Billie is ready to invite us further into her world with “Bellyache,” a song she wrote in her bedroom with frequent collaborator and older brother Finneas O’Connell who produced the track at the home they grew up in, in Los Angeles.
“When I write, I try to become different characters,” exclaims Billie. “You can write a song about being in love with someone, but you don’t have to be in love with anyone. You can write a song about killing someone, but you don’t have to have killed people. ‘Bellyache’ is about doing one of those things but it’s mostly about regret and guilt.” She continues. “Becoming a character can be really fun; to put yourself in a place you would never really be.”
In stark contrast to the songs suggestive dark subject matter, the single trots along to bright acoustic guitars and uplifting tempo before spinning out into a gloriously messy bass boom, accompanied with lyrics “sitting all alone, mouthful of gum in the driveway, my friends aren’t far, in the back of my car, lay their bodies…My V is for Vendetta. I thought that I’d feel better. Now I got a bellyache.”
“Bellyache” is available now on Apple Music, iTunesSpotify and Amazon worldwide.

Alice Jemima Shares Video For "No Diggity" || Debut LP 'Alice Jemima' Out 3/3 On Sunday Best

Alice Jemima Shares Video For “No Diggity”
Debut LP Alice Jemima Out March 3rd On Sunday Best
Playing SXSW   “An undeniably powerful narrative” – NYLON
“A summer-ready pop song with hand-claps and a whispery melody you won't be able to shake.” – FADER
“Mesmerizingly Beautiful” – Idolator
“Dreamy introspection punctuated by pulsating rhythm.” – BUST

Just ahead of the release of her debut LP  Alice Jemima , that is due out March 3rd, 2017 via Sunday Best, English singer Alice Jemima is thrilled to share the artful video for her viral cover of Blackstreet’s iconic track “No Diggity”.Watch it HERE. The single, which appears on her debut self-titled album, was her initial breakthrough single which went viral and now stands at over 3 million plays. The video was shot in London and features freestyle skate crew High Rollaz.

In Jemima’s own words: “I first chose to cover 'No Diggity' after hearing Chet Fakers striped-back version of it - but I wasn’t planning to do anything with it, I was just playing around in my studio. But then I played it to my family and friends and they loved it, so I put it up on my Soundclound. I definitely didn’t expect it to get the amount of plays that it did in such a short amount of time, I’m still completely bowled over by that, and this is why it’ll be on my album.”
Furthermore, Alice Jemima will make her US debut next month at SXSW, her complete performance schedule is forthcoming.

Inspired by the likes of Shura and the xx, her efforts on this standout debut entice with alluring, beat-driven frameworks and addictive, saccharine vocals. The creeping “Diamonds And Bones”is whisper soft but full of foreboding; the pretty "Under The Radar" skips around a pulsating bassline, while the classic-sounding “So” marries an exploratory xx-esque guitar figure with percussive beats and Jemima's soft croon. “So” was also the song that helped shape the sound of her album “My voice can sound really young – it needs to be surrounded by the right things to really shine, so I found that beats and darker keys and minimal guitar fits around my voice nicely.”
Jemima’s debut Liquorice EP was released back in June to a receptive audience, with the lead track “Liquorice” being selected by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens as his Tip Of The Week and John Kennedy’s X-Posure Big One on Radio-X and to date has over 470,000 Spotify streams. Her subsequent single release “Dodged a Bullet” has now been play listed at Radio 1 and currently stands at over 755,000 Spotify streams. Jemima's initial breakthrough arrived in 2014 when her sultry cover of Blackstreet's “No Diggity” suddenly blazed its way to nearly 3 million plays prompting multiple label offers and a subsequent label deal with Sunday Best.

With a recent Ladyhawke tour support under her belt, as well as performing live on the Radio 1 BBC Introducing Stage at their summer Big Weekend live show in Devon and owning the stage at a packed out Big Top performance at both Bestival & Camp Bestival, 2016 has been an exciting year for Alice Jemima and with the upcoming release of her debut album, 2017 looks even more promising.
  Alice Jemima tracklisting:

1. Electric
2. Dodged A Bullet
3. No More
4. Liquorice
5. Falling Out Of Love
6. When You Dance
7. So

Let's Eat Grandma Announce Los Angeles & New York Dates Around SXSW Appearance

Let’s Eat Grandma Announce Los Angeles & New York Dates Around SXSW Appearance
I, Gemini LP Out Now Via TransgressivePhoto Credit: Francesca Allen
US Tour Mar 14 -18  – Austin, TX - SXSW
Mar 19 – Los Angeles, CA – The Echo
Mar 23 – New York, NY – Rough TradeLet’s Eat Grandma have announced their first ever Los Angeles show at The Echo, as well as a triumphant return to New York at Rough Trade. The dates follow their upcoming appearance at SXSW, with their showcases to be announced in the coming weeks. The British duo broke through last year with their debut album I, Gemini, out now on Transgressive. It was heralded by critics as one of the most wildly imaginative and original debut albums in years.
As thick as thieves, as sharp as knives, as like-minded as twins, wildly imaginative multi-instrumentalists and talented putative pop stars Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth, met aged four in their local infant school in Norwich and have been inseparable ever since. Let’s Eat Grandma was formed in 2013 when Rosa was given a second hand acoustic guitar for her birthday and Jenny adopted a battered old ukulele. Influenced by playing jazz and classical music both in and out of school and their own desire to explode the pop formula, they started writing a series of uniquely structured compositions. On a month by month basis their repertoire of instruments expanded and expanded to include the saxophone, the piano, mandolin, drums, synthesizers, harmonica, recorders and whistles, even if their audience initially was only each other.

The name Let’s Eat Grandma was chosen in a rush the night before their first ever gig, from an old grammatical joke which highlights the usefulness of a well placed comma. The name is ideal for a band that can sound quite sweet and poppy on first listen but who also have deeper, darker undercurrents.
Praise for Let’s Eat Grandma
Hollingworth and Walton, a duo from Norwich, U.K., have created a closed-off musical world with their songs. They craft duets with spooky, childlike timbres.”  –The New Yorker

“There's a darkness in this music and the stories, but also a real humor embedded in what they do.” -- NPR

“The teenaged duo Let’s Eat Grandma explore the nightmarish whimsy of nursery rhymes and folktales with a distinctively English flavor on their chilling and impressive debut” - Pitchfork

“With dark humor and boundless imagination, the young women of LEG return folktales to their original, oral habitats. Their first album and its accompanying visuals artfully balance innocence and know-how ― seriousness and make-believe ― slashing gendered preconceptions of fairy tales and their contemporary counterpoint: pop music.” – Huffington Post

“They craft subversive, unflinching experimental pop that includes nearly three-minute long instrumental intros and bouts of rap.” – Interview Magazine

“They make weird, enchanting pop music that cribs from fairy tales, hip-hop beats, and the classical music their parents played at home. They call it “psychedelic sludge-pop,” something that sounds as likely to come out of Willy Wonka’s factory as your headphones.”  --SPIN

"It's wildly unpredictable: like the neon-streaked imagination of a child paired with the expertise of someone much older.” -- FADER

The U$A’s longest-running homemade primitive electronic poetry & vibes trio launch another scotched taped nuclear audio front on humanity. The 2017 release Undertow finds the trio diving into new depths of the electronic and free jazz infected world. A world they created themselves from scratch, running over the course of two decades.
The vinyl edition comes with a double-sided foldout A2 poster featuring album artwork on one side and a compilation of gig flyers and imagery documenting twenty years of noise and troubled chaos on the reverse. A full download card is also included.
Formed in 1996 in Detroit, Michigan, WOLF EYES have recorded for Sub Pop, Troubleman Unlimited, De Stijl and most recently Third Man, as well as their countless self-released documents of audio destruction and micro-run slabs of noise. The band has an inzane history of collaborations, side projects and solo outputs. While staying consistently road-hardened they’ve shared stages with everyone from Sonic Youth to Anthony Braxton to Andrew W.K. to Aphex Twin to Morton Subotnick. The Wolf boys also continue to play gigs with all like-minded outsider stoner/loner freaks in the world’s basements, from whence this beast originally emerged.LOWER FLOOR MUSIC is a brand new imprint dedicated to the group’s cultural vision. The Lower Floor Music label will be curated by Wolf Eyes and feature both new and archival visions from the band as well as work by like-minded artists. Lower Floor Music will benefit from a world-wild distribution deal providing fans of electronic music across the globe access to Wolf Eyes’ sound-vision and like-minded community spirits. The idea of a home-basement for Wolf Eyes is not new. Since 1998 the band has generated a massive tidal wave of releases nearly adding up to over 500 titles; mostly limited from 2-100 copies. Released on American Tapes, Hanson, AA, Warzone, and countless other independent/homemade labels, these documents often vanished forever into the arcane crypts of collectors. WOLF EYES has the unending thirst to explore every shadowy sonic corner of the homespun audio universe. The band has just launched a BLEEP store which is live right now, check it out here.
"UNDERTOW" and "LOWER FLOOR MUSIC": direct expression from the rotten rat explorers to sink into the seams of your soul.

Additonally the band have announced a slew of tour dates in the U.S & Europe, check them out as well as the title track & album artwork below.

Xtra Mile Recordings and the unstoppable, explosive force of UK six-piece Skinny Lister are pleased to present the music video for the band’s new single, “Injuries.” Taken from its recently-released studio album titled The Devil, The Heart & The Fight , “Injuries” was filmed by notable MTV Europe VJ and Rockpalast host Ingo Schmoll at Joshua Tree during the band’s biggest U.S. headline tour late last year. Premiering now with Brooklyn Vegan , “Injuries” expresses one’s necessary need to press forward despite life’s many curveballs and overall setbacks. “’Injuries' is about following your heart despite the risks, doing what you want to do with your life, and overcoming the obstacles that inevitably get thrown in your way,” said frontman Dan Heptinstall. “Shit is thrown at all of us from time to time, and 'Injuries' is a celebration of picking yourself up and battling on, and turning those experiences to your advantage.” Check out the premiere of “Injuries” via Brooklyn Vegan HERE .

Additionally, Skinny Lister recently announced a number of headline shows and appearances supporting Flogging Molly in the U.S. during March and April. Beginning in Dallas, TX on Tuesday, March 21, the tour will take in 11 evenings and hit markets such as Houston, TX on Wednesday, March 22, New Orleans, LA on Friday, March 24, Raleigh, NC on Tuesday, March 28, and feature headline performances in Washington, DC on Thursday, March 30 and New York City on Sunday, April 2. A full listing of dates can be found below with ticketing information available on Skinny Lister’s official site HERE .

If their folk debut album ( Forge & Flagon , 2012) celebrated the sticks and their punkier second ( Down On Deptford Broadway , 2015) blinked in the bright lights of London; their rocked-up third, The Devil, The Heart & The Fight sees Skinny Lister going global. Pieced together while on the road, and recorded over five weeks in Newcastle Under Lyme’s Silk Mill Studio in May 2016 with producer Tristan Ivemy (Frank Turner, The Holloways), it is Skinny Lister’s most far-reaching, exciting and accomplished album yet. It’s a full-on rock record that splashes even more punk vigour and eighties pop elements across their fervent folk canvas, taking in hints of Adam Ant and The Clash. It also brings the folk storytelling tradition bang up to date with its brutally honest and close to the knuckle lyrics of real-life stories (‘Geordie Lad’, ‘Charlie’) and on-the-road mayhem, the Pogue-ish ‘Hamburg Drunk’.

A mature, vibrant and varied record, it mingles classic Skinny folk romances (‘Grace’, ‘Reunion’) with epic rock takes on rafter-rattling shanties (‘Beat It From The Chest’) and hearty Dexys-style tributes to the fans they meet on the road (‘Fair Winds & Following Seas’), plus a hitherto unseen darker side. Take the deceptively upbeat ‘Injuries’, Dan’s ode on the bruising nature of life, or ‘Devil In Me’, in which Lorna comes on like a particularly melodic Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction: “the devil in me will come for you and you’ll pay the price for not being very nice… you took my life, I’m taking yours, that seems to me a fair trade”. Gulp.

The Devil, The Heart & The Fight is like Skinny’s previous albums gone backpacking; expanding its horizons, full of adventure, discovering itself and doing things it regrets in the morning. Have heart, ye devils, join the fight.

Skinny Lister will be making the following appearances throughout 2017. Dates below with more to be announced soon.
