ANNOUNCES U.S. TOUR DATES,
INCLUDING ALBUM RELEASE SHOWAT BABY'S ALL RIGHT
FIXED FOCUS DUE APRIL 7, 2017VIA ERNEST JENNING RECORD CO.
STREAM // EMBED "KISS IT GOODBYE"
Ernest Jenning Record Co. is thrilled to announce  Fixed Focus , the debut album from Saint Pé(Ian Saint Pé, longtime Black Lips and Diamond Rugs guitarist).  Noisey  shared the first music from the new album with their premiere of " Kiss It Goodbye ," calling the track "a reconfiguring of his old band's rock 'n' roll ideal." Fixed Focus is due April 7, 2017, and is available to preorder  HERE . " Kiss It Goodbye " is available to stream or embed  HERE .
Saint Pé has also announced a run of U.S. tour dates, beginning on April 7 at WMFU's Monty Hallin Jersey City, NJ, followed by an album release show on April 8 at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY (with labelmates Las Rosas) and dates in ClevelandChicagoSt. LouisAthens, andNashville. The full list of tour dates is below.
In 2014, after 10 years of touring the world (literally every continent but Antarctica!) in Atlanta's legendary Black Lips as well as the critically-acclaimed Diamond Rugs, guitarist and vocalist Ian Saint Pé needed a change. As he put it, "The only thing you can't change is time, So it was time that changed me. I loved the Black Lips, but I needed to enjoy new environments. So I got a brand new bag: Saint Pé."
He packed up his gear and moved to Nashville, where he settled down in a log cabin formerly owned by country legend Roy Acuff. Before long, that home had also turned into a studio, and with the help of a number of Atlanta-based friends, Fixed Focus was born. It's less a departure from the sounds of the Lips and Rugs as it is an informed continuation of them that maintains all the hooks and pop sensibilities of his previous acts, while refining them with a bit of Nashville class and a hint of the darkness that 10 years on the road imbues upon the soul.
From singalong stompers "Street Lights," "Got The Look" and " Kiss It Goodbye " to Southern Gothic explorations like "Burning Bright" and "Carbon Maker," Fixed Focus is a fully-formed solo debut that sounds more like an album from deep into an established career.
Recorded by Saint Pé himself, Fixed Focus was then mixed by Matt Boynton (Kurt VileMGMT) in New York City and mastered by Joel Hatstat in Athens, GA.
With his first record finally in that brand new bag and new songs already on the way, Saint Pé plans to spend the foreseeable future back on the road with this latest project, bringing his new sounds to plenty of familiar faces.
Fixed Focus tracklist:1. Street Lights2. Renowned Movement3. Kiss It Goodbye4. Dawn of Tomorrow5. Carbon Maker6. Sweet Laurel7. Got The Look8. Southern Sunshine9. Spun and Spurn10. As of Late11. Yesteryear Gone12. Burning Bright

MORE ON SWEET SPIRIT:
Ironically, the eight-piece band Sweet Spirit started as a solo project.
Austin singer Sabrina Ellis was going through some distressing times: the band that she fronted for several years, Bobby Jealousy, with her then husband was disintegrating along with their relationship. Everything Ellis was working toward was suddenly in free-fall.

She started Sweet Spirit to hone her ability to write and perform on her own. “It was supposed to be focused on me writing solo, and performing with the guitar,” she says. But it didn’t stay that way for long.

When Ellis started Sweet Spirit, she was still writing and performing with her longstanding garage punk band A Giant Dog. AGD Co-founder Andrew Cashen was intrigued by Ellis’ new emphasis on soul and country and pop music as touchstones for Sweet Spirit and quickly climbed on board the project. “I’m very comfortable doing loud and fast,” Cashen says, “so this is uncharted territory for me.”

Together Ellis and Cashen began turning out songs at a breakneck pace. They assembled a core band of four more members, rehearsed religiously, and started playing gigs around town. Immediately they began turning heads and packing clubs.

Within six months they had gotten noticed by one of Austin’s most famous musical residents, Britt Daniel of Spoon. In October of 2014, Daniel asked the band to perform at Spoon’s “secret” tour kick off show at the cramped rock club Hotel Vegas for their latest record They Want My Soul, and Sweet Spirit was quickly thrown into the local buzzmill.

As Austin accolades continued to pile up into 2015, Sweet Spirit was added as an official SXSW showcase act without a full-length record or ever having applied. National attention from Esquire, the L.A. Times and other outlets solidified their status as Austin’s “next great rock band” and earned them a spot as the opener on 12 Midwest and West Coast Spoon tour dates.

Meanwhile, the band released their full-length debut Cokomo, as well as a two song collaboration with Daniel, receiving praise from Stereogum, Consequence Of Sound, SPIN, and other outlets, and leading to two more national tours.

In between shows, the band found time to work with producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Deer Tick) on their sophomore full-length St. Mojo. The new record comes out on April 7, 2017 on Austin label Nine Mile Records and features a bigger, more dynamic set of songs. Lead single "The Power" has already become a fan favorite at live shows, while the Queen-esque track "The Mighty" and Prince dance funk of "I Wanna Have You" take the band is exciting, unexpected new directions. Guest contributions from members of Grupo Fantasma, Mother Falcon and A Giant Dog help expand the band's already considerable sound.

New York, NY - [February 15, 2017] - Blondie has unveiled a new video for "Fun,the first track from their 11th studio album Pollinator (BMG) -  PRESS HERE  to watch. The video for the frenetic track, which premiered via  EW.com , opens with a space traveler hurtling through the galaxy amidst trippy, kaleidoscopic animation. After landing on Mars, a celestial rave led by Blondie ensues where everyone is welcomed, accepted and celebrated. Directed by Dikayl Rimmasch (Beyonce's "Lemonade," Formation World Tour), the "Fun" video serves as an escape from the current tension and division gripping the U.S. and beyond and features imagery representing Blondie's experience of New York City's '70s music and club culture inspired by the acclaimed photography of Blondie songwriter/guitarist Chris Stein.

"The band was really welcoming and open," says Rimmasch. "Debbie is beautiful and beautifully enigmatic. It was amazing to be on the other side of the glass from her when those 'Debbie moments' happened it felt like I had stepped into a parallel dimension."

With arrangements that are fast and fun, lyrics that are romantic and teasing, and infectious synth-stoked hooks that will have everyone on their feet, Blondie's sound and sensibility is as fresh on Pollinator  as when they first topped the charts. "This is music as it's supposed to be," says Debbie Harry, "Filled with spirit, fun and true soul."

The band has enlisted an eclectic group of songwriters for their most collaborative album to date. Those offering their own interpretation of the band's legacy are superstar Sia, Blood Orange frontman Dev Hynes, British singer Charli XCX, Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio), Nick Valensi (The Strokes), Johnny Marr (The Smiths) and Canadian movie blogger and indie rocker Adam Johnston (an Unkindness).
