LADYTRON’S HELEN MARNIE RELEASES NEW ALBUM ON JUNE 2ND VIA DISCO PINATA
About
Today, Marnie continues to develop her very own take on a modern pop sound through the release of “Lost Maps” taken from her album
Strange Words and Weird Wars
, out on 2nd June 2017 via Disco Piñata. TheLadytron frontwoman Helen Marnie, aka Marnie, releases the track “Lost Maps” alongside an emotionally charged video via Playboy HERE.
Comprised of ten pulsating tracks, Strange Words And Weird Wars showcases the most impressive elements of Marnie’s incarnation as a solo artist along with those that made her band, Ladytron, one of the most respected pioneers in electronic music; soul crushing synths are wonderfully accented by hook-laden choruses as Marnie boldly explores up-tempo electro dream-pop.The album is on iTunes pre-order, and you will instantly receive “Lost Maps”, "Alphabet Block” now and “Electric Youth” on 5.12.
The ability to effortlessly play with genres becomes more and more apparent as you work your way through what is such a sonically impressive record. Tracks such as album opener, the unashamedly melodic “Alphabet Block”, nods to contemporary electro-pop artists. While “Electric Youth” channels 80’s mall pop, think Pat Benatar via M83, a glorious guilty pleasure and one of the stand-out tracks on the album, introspection comes in the form of the shoegaze-inspired“A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night”, giving the air of an unreleased b-side from a cult vampire movie. And while the new single “Lost Maps” should be heard on dancefloors around the world, “Summer Boys”echos the hazy days of summer, dreaming big whilst reading stolenMills & Boons books.
Having moved back to Glasgow in September 2012 after many years living in London, Marnie continued to write music following the success of her solo project and subsequent album release in 2013. Influenced by life, love, loss, politics and all things 80’s pop, Marnie has created an album that has an intelligence and a depth behind what, on the surface, is a melodic contemporary pop record.

BAND TO PERFORM " LOVE IS MYSTICAL " ON ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! ON APRIL 5th
NEW ALBUM, LA DIVINE OUT APRIL 7TH ON CAPITOL RECORDS

Lead Single "Love Is Mystical" Hits Top 10 at Alternative and Top 5 at AAA Radio Cold War Kids premiere the video for their new track "Restless" today on Vevo- the clip was shot in LA and directed by Made By Shelly, watch it HERE. "LA people are typecast into two roles," says Cold War Kids front man Nathan Willett about the bands inspiration for the track and video. "The hungry single artist chasing their dreams or the happy couple that is compromised and settled. You're either edgy, moody, inspired or safe, soft and ineffectual. This is troubling to me. Where are the stories where love actually sets us free? What would it look like to live that way... to have the best of both worlds?" LA Divine - Cold War Kids' sixth album and first for Capitol Records out April 7th -pays tribute to Los Angeles in all its strange glory, embodying the Long Beach-bred band's endless fascination with their adopted hometown. Produced by their repeat collaborator Lars Stalfors (Health, Local Natives), the album opens with lead single "Love is Mystical," which was praised by NME for taking the band's "rousing and soulful anthemics to new heights." The single held the No. 1 spot for Most Increased Plays at AAA radio for two consecutive weeks and hit the Top 5 of the Alt 18 Countdown and Top 10 at Alternative and Top 5 at AAA radio. The song has more than 5.3 million Spotify streams worldwide and jumped into both Spotify's U.S. and Global Viral charts. Cold War Kids will perform "Love Is Mystical" on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 5th, airing at 11:35|10:35 c on ABC. Cold War Kids will celebrate the release of LA Divine with a Pop Up event in Los Angeles (April 6th), an iHeart Radio Album Release Party featuring a 60-minute live performance and Q&A that will stream and broadcast live across iHeart Media's Alternative Radio Stations (April 7th), performances and signings at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach, CA (April 8th) and an in store performance at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, NY (April 10th). All details on the Rough Trade event can be found here. Those whopre-order the album will receive instant downloads of "Love Is Mystical," "Can We Hang On?" and "So Tied Up" Ft. Bishop Briggs which TIME calls "enticing...a fast-paced toe-tapper with a stadium-sized arrangement... as far as angsty, passionate anthems to conflicted love affairs go, this one ticks all the right boxes." The band just wrapped a sold out North American headline tour and will also joinYoung The Giant on the "Home of the Strange Tour," beginning August 2nd in Louisville, KY. The run will include a performance at Central Park SummerStage and continue on through the end of September. Full itinerary and tickets for all shows are available at coldwarkids.com . AMBER COFFMAN SHARES NEW SINGLE “NO COFFEE” FROM HER FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM CITY OF NO REPLY
AMBER COFFMAN SHARES NEW SINGLE “NO COFFEE”
FROM HER FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM CITY OF NO REPLY
Singer/songwriter Amber Coffman answers the age-old question is love stronger than that morning jolt of caffeine with the release of her new single “No Coffee” from her upcoming debut album City Of No Reply due out on Columbia Records this June. The song is a bright lament and intricately layered ode of real longing. There’s a bop to her delivery that makes “No Coffee” another example of the singer’s subtle emotive power and the perfect counter to “All To Myself,” which drew praise last fall.
Former guitarist/singer for ground-breaking indie band the Dirty Projectors, Amber wrote and recorded her solo album in Los Angeles. She’s quietly become one of the most intriguing and sought-after vocalists, delivering notable performances with Bjork and David Byrne on separate Dirty Projectors collaborations (Mount Wittenberg Orca and “Knotty Pine,” respectively). A host of cutting-edge artists from the EDM, hip-hop, and indie worlds have also enlisted Coffman’s talents for their own projects. Artists she has collaborated with include Major Lazer, Rusko, J.Cole, Snoop Dogg, Velvet Underground impresario John Cale, and Frank Ocean on his recent album Blonde.
Amber’s formidable vocal presence makes “No Coffee” another flawless effort from the emerging solo artist.

The Tennessee songwriter’s fabulous self-titled debut is available on CD and limited-edition green vinyl now in the Merge store, your favorite independent record store, and digital outlets. In its glowing four-star review, The Skinny raves, “There’s not a single song here that won’t have you reaching for the repeat button at some point.”
To mark the occasion, Hames shares a new music video and more European shows! The music video for “I Don’t Wanna Go” was shot in the California desert last month and features many of the musicians who recorded the album with Hames: bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, The Greenhornes), drummer Julian Dorio (The Whigs), and guitarist Adam Meisterhans (The Weight).

Coco Hames on making the video:We shot the video in my spiritual home of Joshua Tree, CA. When I am there, I stay with my friend David Catching (Eagles of Death Metal, desert host, and king) and we record whatever we feel like. I'm so peaceful and at home there, which I think is noticeable in the video too; I'm not much of an actor, and what you see is me purely content! I have a rotating cast for my live performances, but the musicians who recorded the album with me were there. We all go way back, and I was just blissed out to be with my friends. David let me drive his car, and Will, the director, had me up before dawn to get the good light. I've never had so much fun.
If you happen to be in Nashville, celebrate today’s album release with Coco Hames at Grimey’s, where she will be performing a free all-ages show at 6pm. Those in Europe can catch Hames’ live show later this year in the cities below with more to come!
