(Available on Amazon.com, I-Tunes, Google Play and On Demand platforms nationally) has created an international media storm. News pieces about the movie have gone "viral" being picked up by over 1,000 web sites globally and have been viewed by millions. VH-1, BET, Reuters, World Entertainment News, NBC-Los Angeles and Reuters have featured "Compton" in their media.
Tupac Assassination: Battle for Compton is the third in the MVD distributed Tupac Assassination franchise, which all explore various facts and theories surrounding the unsolved murders of 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Tupac Shakur and former rapper Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace. "Compton" explores a new understanding of the killing of Shakur, and alleges that the shooting that occurred in Las Vegas September 7, 1996 was not a direct attempt on Shakur, but Shakur's fatal shooting occurred because of a takeover scheme against his record label (Death Row Records) CEO Marion "Suge" Knight, orchestrated by insiders to the Death Row label.
Just days ago the internet "broke" with news that the former CEO of Death Row Records, Marion Suge Knight, stated through his attorney Thaddeus Culpepper, that Knight endorsed the Compton explanation of the means motive and opportunities that lead to the 1996 shooting. "Compton", which was based on the books "Tupac187: The Red Knight" and "Chaos Merchants" was distilled for Knight into an outline entitled "Tupac Murder Facts" and read to Knight, who is incarcerated pending charges of killing a man in what Knight calls self-defense. Knight was quoted as asking "Who are these guys" and how they knew the details shown in Compton. Knight, an eyewitness and victim to the shooting then confirmed the accuracy of the story laid out in Compton as being true. (Culpepper claims the remarks were made "off the record" and not intended for public consumption, otherwise known as "leaked".)
Over the last 20 years there has been much in the way of speculation and innuendo about that happened to cause the threat on Knight and Shakur. Police have not solved the case. Some retired LAPD detectives have posited opposing theories on who may have been behind the murders, but no one yet has come forward with a comprehensive understanding and context to the homicides until now. Fans have raved that "Tupac Assassination: Battle For Compton" "wraps it up." Fan sentiment is that the story "just makes sense" and that once one understands the entire scope of the greater problem that eventually lead to the shootings, they aren't surprised by how the shootings happened- or why. Case closed.
Russell Poole, the Wallace case investigator who worked on the writing of the film, brought all of his investigation notes to the table for the directors Michael Douglas Carlin and Richard "RJ" Bond to review. Interviews with Federal investigators, prosecutors and informants drive the narrative of Compton to answer the simple question: "Were the murders of Tupac Shakur and Wallace part of a larger crime?"

The dual albums find the trio of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Steve McDonald showcasing two distinct sides to the band’s music: Death, a proper Melvins’ release and Love, the score to the Jesse Nieminen directed, self-produced short also titled A Walk With Love and Death. “This was a huge undertaking,” explained band ringleader Buzz Osborne. “All three things: the album, the soundtrack and the film are benchmarks for us.”
Drummer Dale Crover added, “A Walk With Love and Death is one giant, dark, moody, psychotic head trip! Not for the faint of heart. You'll sleep with the lights on after listening.”
The albums, which include guests Joey Santiago (The Pixies), Teri Gender Bender (Le Butcherettes/Crystal Fairy) and Anna Waronker (That Dog), were self-produced with engineer Toshi Kosai.
A North American tour is in the works for this Summer with dates to be announced soon.

Bob Gruen's ROCKERS at the Pearlstein Gallery/Philadelphia's Drexel University
The Leonard Pearlstein Gallery Presents:ROCKERS 
From taking early photos on tour with Ike and Tina Turner and capturing the early CBGB/Max's Kansas City scene, to hanging out with John and Yoko and covering current stadium rockers such as Green Day, Bob Gruen has always been at the right place at the right time. As Alice Cooper says, what makes Gruen's work so memorable is that "he always got the money shot." Gruen's photographs take the viewer backstage, on tour and into intimate moments - bearing witness to the rise of rock and roll and punk.
Gruen covered the New York City music scene, taking photographs that have gained worldwide recognition - Led Zeppelin to the Rolling Stones, Elvis to James Brown, Bob Dylan to Bob Marley and John Lennon to Johnny Rotten. Shortly after John Lennon moved to New York in 1971, Bob became John and Yoko's personal photographer and friend, capturing their working life, private moments and creating two iconic images - John Lennon wearing the New York City t-shirt and, standing in front of the Statue of Liberty making the peace sign. These years of close friendship and respect for the many artists he photographed set the stage for the exhibit, 'ROCKERS' that will be on display from Thursday, April 13 - Wednesday, May 26, hosted by Drexel University's Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. The exhibition will be on display in the URBN Center Annex's Leonard Pearlstein Gallery (3401 Filbert St.) and is free and open to the public Tuesday - Sunday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. The exhibition, which encompasses 124 photographs including 65 contact sheets demonstrating the pre-digital selection process and a "Teenage Bedroom" installation, is also supported by the Kal and Lucille Rudman Institute for Entertainment Industry Studies.
Bob Gruen will appear at the Pearlstein Gallery on Thursday, April 13 at 5-7 p.m. for the opening reception of ROCKERS.
On Wednesday, May 3, at 6 p.m. music journalist and rock and roll correspondent Rona Elliot will join Gruen for a conversation about his career and book signing for his monograph "Rock Seen".

As they head back to Australia to join the Ryan Adams tour Down Under, Middle Kids have shared a video for the song "Old River," from the self-titled EP out now on Domino. The video consists of footage the band shot whilst on this tour, giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life on the road for a rapidly-rising act in a foreign country.

The world renowned festival, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN, has announced the lineup for its critically acclaimed annual, weekend-long celebration, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN to take place on August 26 & 27 at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. AFROPUNK's presence in Johannesburg is no accident, it is a logical extension of how AFROPUNK creates connections throughout the Diaspora. Since its founding, the AFROPUNK Festival's meaning has stemmed from a desire to connect people who shared a mindset, first in the neighborhoods of New York, then throughout the U.S. and finally around the globe. That mindset is less concerned with the contrariness of genre than the strength and unity of otherness. Given its rising popularity, the festival will continue to keep its paid ticket as the most affordable in the country for the array of talent, and is also bringing back its earned ticket program, continuing. AFROPUNK's advocacy of cultural change, especially within its Brooklyn community. The earned ticket program, called AFROPUNK ARMY, gives fans the opportunity to volunteer for admittance. Last year AFROPUNK worked closely with partners to provide volunteer activities and projects for 25,000 fans to complete in exchange for a ticket to the festival (a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work will earn ONE General Admission weekend pass) this year. The volunteer program creates awareness for organizations and helps deliver a sustainable impact to communities in need.

The world renowned festival, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN, has announced the lineup for its critically acclaimed annual, weekend-long celebration, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN to take place on August 26 & 27 at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. The 2017 AFROPUNK festival continues to be a bastion of multicultural diversity that brings together a vast array of musical acts, art and culture with a lineup that this year includes Soul II Soul, Sampha, Thundercat, Kaytranada, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Clark Jr., Macy Gray, SZA, Serpentwithfeet, Sango, The Cool Kids, Kevin Abstract and many more w/ headliners to be announced soon. The festival will be home to a plethora of diverse acts from the UK, France, South Africa and US throughout the weekend.
With news of the announcement that later this year AFROPUNK will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, the theme of this year's festival is WE THE PEOPLE, a phrase that begins both the American and South African constitutions. AFROPUNK's presence in Johannesburg is no accident, it is a logical extension of how AFROPUNK creates connections throughout the Diaspora. Since its founding, the AFROPUNK Festival's meaning has stemmed from a desire to connect people who shared a mindset, first in the neighborhoods of New York, then throughout the U.S. and finally around the globe. That mindset is less concerned with the contrariness of genre than the strength and unity of otherness. Modern South Africa is proof of the victory of otherness over historical precedent, and of the country's desire to mold a society based on virtues that are at the core of AFROPUNK. Given its rising popularity, the festival will continue to keep its paid ticket as the most affordable in the country for the array of talent, and is also bringing back its earned ticket program, continuing. AFROPUNK's advocacy of cultural change, especially within its Brooklyn community. The earned ticket program, called AFROPUNK ARMY, gives fans the opportunity to volunteer for admittance. Last year AFROPUNK worked closely with partners to provide volunteer activities and projects for 25,000 fans to complete in exchange for a ticket to the festival (a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work will earn ONE General Admission weekend pass) this year. The volunteer program creates awareness for organizations and helps deliver a sustainable impact to communities in need.

YES Reveals 2017 'YESTIVAL' Summer Tour Plans During Live SiriusXM Event

In advance of tomorrow's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, YES revealed their initial summer touring plans live on SiriusXM last night during their exclusive in-studio audience event "SiriusXM Volume Presents an Artist Confidential with YES." The 2017 outing, called YESTIVAL, will feature a set list of greatest hits from all of the band's studio albums up to 1980, showcasing the storied history of one of theworld's most influential, ground-breaking, and respected progressive rock bands. "We are looking forward to presenting songs from each of the first nine studio albums, including some surprises," says YES guitarist Steve Howe. YESTIVAL will feature special guest Todd Rundgren and an opening set from Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy honoring the magic of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. The tour kicks off August 4 in Greensboro, NC and will travel across the U.S. through earlySeptember, stopping in such markets as Baltimore, Philadelphia, Brooklyn (August 11 at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk), Pittsburgh, Detroit, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles (August 29 at the Microsoft Theater), with more to be announced soon. Following the announcement of their first new album in over two decades, Ride is back today to announce several tour dates. In September the band will play a string of shows on the United States' West Coast, and on October 2nd they will play a show in Mexico City. Two weeks ago, Ride shared details on their new album Weather Diaries, which is set for release on June 16th via Wichita Recordings. The band also shared a new video for the lead single from the album "Charm Assault." Weather Diaries is available for pre-order on vinyl now in translucent red vinyl exclusively from the band's store, black vinyl, CD or digitally with limited signed merch bundles.
Produced by legendary DJ, producer and remixer Erol Alkan, Weather Diaries is packed with all the classic elements that made Ride one of the defining bands of the early '90s. Trembling distortion, beautiful harmonies, pounding rhythms, shimmering soundscapes and great songwriting all combine to make an album that's ambitious in scope, timeless and thoroughly addictive. The album will be released through Wichita Recordings and sees the band reunited with label co-founders Mark Bowen and Dick Green, who worked with Ride during the band's early years on Creation Records. It also brings the band back together with mixer Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers) who mixed their seminal 1990 album Nowhere and produced its follow up Going Blank Again.
After a lengthy hiatus, Ride reformed in 2014. Comprised of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence Colbert, and Steve Queralt, the band sold out headline tours around the world to a plethora of critical acclaim, as well as show stopping turns at festivals including Coachella, Primavera and Field Day. In July, in addition to the newly announced September dates, they will play a string of North American shows with tickets available now.

April 5th, 2017 — (Santa Monica, CA) — Feist will hit the road this summer for a series of intimate shows to introduce audiences to her new album Pleasure , which will be released on April 28th via Interscope Records. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s tour will hit Toronto, Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, and Chicago. A ticket pre-sale launches Thursday, April 6th at 10 am local time and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 7th at 10 am local time. Tickets can be purchased at listentofeist.com . Feist will also perform at multiple international festivals this summer, including Eaux Claires in Wisconsin.
Feist is touring in support of Pleasure, her fourth full-length and first album in six years. The eagerly awaited album is available for pre-order now. In 2004 Feist made her U.S. debut with Let It Die (featuring “Mushaboom”) which won the Juno Award for Best Alternative Rock Album, and garnered major critical acclaim. Her 2007 follow-up The Reminder debuted in the Top 20 in the U.S. and was hailed by The Village Voice as a “great batch of simple, precisely arranged love songs — expertly produced, delectably sung.” The single “1234” boosted the album’s sales to more than a million units internationally. Also including lead single “My Moon My Man,” The Reminder won Feist the 2007 Shortlist Music Prize (making her only the second woman to ever win the award).
After a several-year hiatus — during which she co-created Look At What The Light Did Now , a documentary about the making of The Reminder and her subsequent tour — Feist returned with Metals in 2011. Metals was her highest charting album, debuting at #9 onBillboard. It was named Album of the Year by the New York Times and won the Polaris Prize and four more Juno Awards.
