Middle Kids Share New Video for "Old River"

MIDDLE KIDS SHARE VIDEOFOR “OLD RIVER,” WATCH HERE
ANNOUNCE NEW NORTHAMERICAN TOUR DATESPhoto Credit: Maclay HeriotMiddle Kids have just wrapped their first extensive North American tour – a resounding success which saw a late night TV debut on ‘Conan’; sessions with KCRW and KEXP; a packed SXSW schedule including shows for FLOOD, KUTX, KCRW, and Waterloo Records; and a sold out show at Baby’s All Right to close the 2-month run.
As they head back to Australia to join the Ryan Adams tour Down Under, Middle Kids have shared a video for the song "Old River," from the self-titled EP out now on Domino. The video consists of footage the band shot whilst on this tour, giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life on the road for a rapidly-rising act in a foreign country.

Middle Kids will be back on US soil this summer. The band will open for Sylvan Esso at Prospect Park Bandshell as part of Celebrate Brooklyn, signaling the start of a brief North American run including stops at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Osheaga in Montreal, with many more shows to be announced. Current itinerary below:
MIDDLE KIDS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATESWed July 26 || Brooklyn, NY || Celebrate Brooklyn at Prospect Park Bandshell *
Sun July 30 || Detroit, MI || Mo Pop Festival
Thurs August 3 || Chicago, IL || Lollapolooza
 August 4 - 6 || Montreal, QC || Osheaga Music Festival
* with Sylvan EssoLed by singer-songwriter-guitarist Hannah Joy, with Tim Fitz (producer and multi-instrumentalist), and Harry Day (drums) rounding out the team, Middle Kids combine echoes of the infamous female-fronted indie rock bands of the 90s and early 2000s, like Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, and Belly, with thoroughly modern production and a deep love and respect of the songwriting process. The band’s anthemic sound is a combination of hooky tune craft, ripping Music Row-inspired slide guitar leads, and soaring melodic vocals. Middle Kids shine especially bright live, where an added gear takes them from 0 to 60 in quiet-to-loud dynamics with hair-raising emotional impact. There’s a contagious joy to this new band - wide-eyed and optimistic, but with an emotional rawness that touches the nerve of even the first-time listener.
Since "Edge of Town’s” original release in 2016, the song has accrued a staggering 5 million plays on Spotify - a bonafide streaming hit. The song currently sits at the top of the Sirius XMU chart, and has been championed by non-comm and commercial radio stations such as KEXP, KCRW, WXPN, WFUV, WEQX, WWCD and many more.
"the sort of tracks that seem simple on the surface but reveal new flashes of brilliance with each pass, often in the form of an artfully slashing guitar riff or a passionately bellowed vocal from lead singer Hannah Joy.” - Stereogum

"a fusion of sharp, swirling indie-pop flirts and stadium rock anthem aims. And at the centre of this inthralling identity wrestle there’s Hannah Joy, steering the ship with shape-shifting vocals that sway from brooding self-analysis to euphoric elation” - Rolling Stone Australia

"Hannah's voice is a little Stevie Nicksie and the jangly guitars sound like they're lifted from an interstitial scene in Singles, but you know sometimes you hear a song and you just like it.” - Noisey

The world renowned festival, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN, has announced the lineup for its critically acclaimed annual, weekend-long celebration, AFROPUNK BROOKLYN to take place on August 26 & 27 at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. The 2017 AFROPUNK festival continues to be a bastion of multicultural diversity that brings together a vast array of musical acts, art and culture with a lineup that this year includes Soul II Soul, Sampha, Thundercat, Kaytranada, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Clark Jr., Macy Gray, SZA, Serpentwithfeet, Sango, The Cool Kids, Kevin Abstract and many more w/ headliners to be announced soon. With news of the announcement that later this year AFROPUNK will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, the theme of this year's festival is WE THE PEOPLE, a phrase that begins both the American and South African constitutions. AFROPUNK's presence in Johannesburg is no accident, it is a logical extension of how AFROPUNK creates connections throughout the Diaspora. Since its founding, the AFROPUNK Festival's meaning has stemmed from a desire to connect people who shared a mindset, first in the neighborhoods of New York, then throughout the U.S. and finally around the globe. That mindset is less concerned with the contrariness of genre than the strength and unity of otherness. Modern South Africa is proof of the victory of otherness over historical precedent, and of the country's desire to mold a society based on virtues that are at the core of AFROPUNK. More info on the Johannesburg festival coming May 11th. You can check the full WE THE PEOPLE statement from AFROPUNK below.
Given its rising popularity, the festival will continue to keep its paid ticket as the most affordable in the country for the array of talent, and is also bringing back its earned ticket program, continuing. AFROPUNK's advocacy of cultural change, especially within its Brooklyn community. The earned ticket program, called AFROPUNK ARMY, gives fans the opportunity to volunteer for admittance. Last year AFROPUNK worked closely with partners to provide volunteer activities and projects for 25,000 fans to complete in exchange for a ticket to the festival (a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer work will earn ONE General Admission weekend pass) this year. The volunteer program creates awareness for organizations and helps deliver a sustainable impact to communities in need.

WE THE PEOPLE:We, the people built this land. Our flesh and blood is present in its buildings, its roads and its bridges. Our souls are its spiritual cornerstone. Our culture is its foundation. Our being nourishes this land - as our ancestors' beings nourished it before us - yet the land has not always reimbursed us.
We, the people recognize the bullshit of the powerful. The injustices they committed in the past have never disappeared from view. The inequalities they perpetrate are there for all but the blind.  The inadequacies they've paid forward to a future age are appearing over the horizon. Unless...
We, the people have a code:No SexismNo RacismNo AbleismNo AgeismNo HomophobiaNo FatphobiaNo Transphobia
We, the people commit ourselves to uphold and fight for the rights enshrined in our code. Let us honour those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and hold accountable those who curtail our liberties. Let us walk in the footsteps of warriors who came before us, and strive to create a society based on fundamental human rights. Let us rewrite the universal laws and educate the errant minds.
We, the people have the will to heal the divisions that threaten to reduce our dreams to ashes. We believe in resurrecting the creative power of our diversity. We open our hearts and minds, and dance to the rhythm of a brand-new future. Together. Brave and compassionate. And beautiful.
May the Goddess protect we, the people.

Following the announcement of their first new album in over two decades, Ride is back today to announce several tour dates. In September the band will play a string of shows on the United States' West Coast, and on October 2nd they will play a show in Mexico City. Two weeks ago, Ride shared details on their new album Weather Diaries, which is set for release on June 16th via Wichita Recordings. The band also shared a new video for the lead single from the album "Charm Assault." Weather Diaries is available for pre-order on vinyl now in translucent red vinyl exclusively from the band's store, black vinyl, CD or digitally with limited signed merch bundles.
Produced by legendary DJ, producer and remixer Erol Alkan, Weather Diaries is packed with all the classic elements that made Ride one of the defining bands of the early '90s. Trembling distortion, beautiful harmonies, pounding rhythms, shimmering soundscapes and great songwriting all combine to make an album that's ambitious in scope, timeless and thoroughly addictive. The album will be released through Wichita Recordings and sees the band reunited with label co-founders Mark Bowen and Dick Green, who worked with Ride during the band's early years on Creation Records. It also brings the band back together with mixer Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers) who mixed their seminal 1990 album Nowhere and produced its follow up Going Blank Again.
After a lengthy hiatus, Ride reformed in 2014. Comprised of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence Colbert, and Steve Queralt, the band sold out headline tours around the world to a plethora of critical acclaim, as well as show stopping turns at festivals including Coachella, Primavera and Field Day. In July, in addition to the newly announced September dates, they will play a string of North American shows with tickets available now.

FEIST TO PREMIERE SONGS FROM NEW ALBUM,  PLEASURE , WITH SERIES OF INTIMATE SHOWS IN MEXICO CITY, LA, SF, NYC, AND MORE    GRAMMY-NOMINATED SINGER-SONGWRITER WILL ALSO PERFORM AT MULTIPLE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS THIS SUMMER   NEW SINGLE “CENTURY” FEATURING JARVIS COCKER AVAILABLE NOW
2841843_20170404192043_1397737058
April 5th, 2017 — (Santa Monica, CA) — Feist will hit the road this summer for a series of intimate shows to introduce audiences to her new album  Pleasure , which will be released on April 28th via Interscope Records. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s tour will hit Toronto, Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, and Chicago. A ticket pre-sale launches Thursday, April 6th at 10 am local time and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 7th at 10 am local time. Tickets can be purchased at  listentofeist.com . Feist will also perform at multiple international festivals this summer, including Eaux Claires in Wisconsin.
Feist is touring in support of Pleasure, her fourth full-length and first album in six years. The eagerly awaited album is available for  pre-order  now. Those who pre-order the album will receive the title track “Pleasure” as well as the newly released single, “Century” featuring Jarvis Cocker.  “Century” premiered today as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1. Listen to “Century”  HERE .
Pleasure builds off the warm naturalism of the Polaris Prize-winning Metals and emerges as Feist’s most formally defiant and expansive work so far. And while each album is a departure from the next, Pleasure finds the four-time Grammy Award nominee again showing the extraordinary depth of her artistry.
What critics have been saying about “Pleasure:”Pleasure’s all but guaranteed to deliver on the promise of its title: smooth and smoked out by its user’s past life as a punk screamer, Feist’s voice is a cause for euphoria in itself.”
Vulture “Lulling us into a false sense of standard-Feist-acoustic-guitar-security, the track swerves all expectations to reach its final form as a garage-y stomper that will improve the life of every teen girl whose hands and earphones it finds its way into. There is no higher compliment I can give.”
Noisey “It’s some of the most adventurous, compelling music the Canadian singer-songwriter has released, beginning sparely before erupting into jagged, bluesy fireworks.”
—  Entertainment Weekly “’Pleasure’ is an intriguing foretaste of what’s to come: surprisingly lo-fi, bluesy, and ferocious on a PJ Harvey wave while maintaining the understated grace and fortitude that has always marked Feist’s best records. It’s just familiar enough to trigger blissful recognition and just weird enough to have me scratching my head.”
—  Stereogum
In 2004 Feist made her U.S. debut with  Let It Die  (featuring “Mushaboom”) which won the Juno Award for Best Alternative Rock Album, and garnered major critical acclaim. Her 2007 follow-up The Reminder debuted in the Top 20 in the U.S. and was hailed by The Village Voice as a “great batch of simple, precisely arranged love songs — expertly produced, delectably sung.” The single “1234” boosted the album’s sales to more than a million units internationally. Also including lead single “My Moon My Man,” The Reminder won Feist the 2007 Shortlist Music Prize (making her only the second woman to ever win the award).
After a several-year hiatus — during which she co-created  Look At What The Light Did Now , a documentary about the making of The Reminder and her subsequent tour — Feist returned with Metals in 2011. Metals was her highest charting album, debuting at #9 onBillboard. It was named Album of the Year by the New York Times and won the Polaris Prize and four more Juno Awards. To date, Feist’s music has sold over three million units worldwide and amassed more than 500 million streams.
