Now, Now Debut Music Video for "SGL" on Nylon
NOW, NOW DEBUT MUSIC VIDEO FOR “SGL”PREMIERING TODAY ON NYLON
PLAYING SELECT DATES ON THE WEST AND EAST COASTTHIS SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER
Now, Now are thrilled to share the Alexa San Román directed music video for “SGL,” premiering today on Nylon. The Minneapolis-based duo released “SGL” as a single earlier this summer, their first new material in over five years. NPR Music hailed it as an “instant classic” and named it to their list of 2017’s “Songs of the Summer.” The song has also been streamed over 1.5 million times since release, and hit the Spotify Top 10 Viral as well as the Global Top 20. Now, Now are on tour this fall playing new and old material as they make their way from Seattle to Washington DC with select dates and festival appearances. All upcoming tour dates are listed below.

With the release of “SGL”, Now, Now emerged from a transformative and transitional few years since their last shows played in support of Threads. As they wrapped up nearly three years of writing, recording, and then touring in support of Threads, KC and Brad were mentally and emotionally worn out. “We couldn’t find a way to recharge ourselves creatively,” recalls KC, and that lead to a feedback loop of writer's block and self-doubt. And so they took a step back, focusing their energy on songwriting and producing outside of Now, Now, or with different artistic mediums like Brad’s work in visual art for bands including Sylvan Esso, The National, Minus the Bear and War On Drugs. The break allowed them space to work on figuring out the bigger picture of who they were as artists and musicians, rather than staying trapped in tunnel vision, focused on a next album.
When all was said and done, Now, Now’s new songs have come out all the better on account of that soul searching experience. “I feel more confident and more like myself than I ever have,” KC shares. Having lived through the fits and starts together, Brad and KC describe their working relationship as more in sync than they’ve ever been before. “Our new songs happened so naturally after we stopped overthinking and started going with our instincts,” says KC. “We learned a lot about each other. More than anything we have learned to trust in ourselves.”

But this life has a pull for me; traveling for a living has been existentially good. It’s hard, and hard things are good, I think.” Taylor gave us a lyrical preview of “When the Wall Comes Down,” the closing track on Hallelujah Anyhow, when he included its first stanza in July’s album announcement. Foxygen Doubles Down On Opulence "AVALON"
Foxygen Doubles Down On OpulenceWATCH THE MONUMENTAL “AVALON” VIDEO
Casablanca. Citizen Kane. Shawshank. Some of the greatest visual masterpieces of our
time. And now, Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado has directed “Avalon,” a piece of moving
art that will surely stand as a landmark achievement in musical motion picture filmmaking.
Using some corporate funding from WeTransfer to pad an already excessive shooting
budget, Rado’s packed in enough Hollywood glitz, glamour and grandeur to choke a show
pony. As usual, frontman Sam France turns in a powerhouse performance. He’s got an
ageless shimmy and sashay. There’s even a wonderful little making-of documentary.
Foxygen will continue to tour the stage production of Hang across the globe through the remainder of 2017. You’ve still got a handful of opportunities to chance your life.Purchase Hang – https://foxygentheband.lnk.to/Hang

'Beyond Waves' is more than two years in the making and delves into family, wrapping up loose ends and learning to let go. Lead single, "Beyond Waves" that Billboard calls a "bohemian-tinged folk-pop track," touches on the birth of her son. On "Friend of the Family," Domino reflects on her relationship with her parents and reveals to Vice's i-D that the song "pays homage to these people who taught me so much about myself." The album was co-written with Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic), co-produced by Joan Wasser (Joan as Police Woman) and recorded jointly in Hudson, New York's Future Past Studios and Brooklyn's Strange Weather Studio.A stepping stone for Kirke, the album also pulls inspiration from the intersection of her two careers as a musician and doula. The album was mixed by Serban Ghenea, except “Dreams” and “Up All Night,” which were mixed by Greg Kurstin and Beck.Beck is currently in the midst of a headlining run, as always generating yet more of the most enthusiastic notices of his live career, including:“An electrifying Beck worth the wait at first Milwaukee concert in 20 years… at his sold-out show at the Riverside Theater Wednesday, he proved that in his case, time is irrelevant… His strongest songs are imaginatively created, impeccably executed, incredibly catchy and as alive as music can be… Beck also proved he’s still an innovative craftsman with two newer songs. ‘Dreams’ was awash in fuzzed-out synthesizers, celestial backing vocals and gentle acoustic guitar strums… And ‘Wow’ live was a wonderfully weird, and captivating, blend of hip-hop beats and dreamy pop melodies… Yet another song only Beck could pull off.”—MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL“You wouldn’t have known nine years had passed between Beck’s last Twin Cities concert and his rascally show Thursday night at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. At 47, the Californian hippie hip-hop rock hipster — who’s already due back Sept. 8 opening for U2 at U.S. Bank Stadium — looked as spry, slender and elfin as he did back in 2008… he and his seven-piece band walloped the audience with an almost nonstop string of funky, rowdy fan favorites… the harmonies soared… spirited and irresistible.”—MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE“Beck has a style and a sound that could suit any era and fit any occasion… He playfully eludes easy categorization, and remains one of the most distinctive songwriters of the modern era… On Thursday night at a sold-out Palace Theatre, all of Beck’s many creative sides were on full display, as he and his cracking seven-piece backing band delivered a lively 95-minute set that mixed his big radio hits in with tender, unguarded moments… he seemed rejuvenated, enjoying himself as much as he did during his alt-outsider early days. Beck can bring the party with the best of them, while also soothing your broken heart if you need it. He did plenty of both on his grand return to Minnesota.”—CITY PAGESFollowing an August 27 headline engagement at MusicFest NW in Portland OR, Beck will join U2 as special guest on The Joshua Tree Tour 2017. With humor and candor, She lays out how the 2016 election was marked by an unprecedented assault on our democracy by a foreign adversary. By analyzing the evidence and connecting the dots, Hillary shows just how dangerous the forces were that shaped the outcome, and why Americans need to understand them to protect our values and our democracy in the future.
The election of 2016 was unprecedented and historic. WHAT HAPPENED is the story of that campaign and its aftermath – both a deeply intimate account and a cautionary tale for the nation.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is the first woman in US history to become the presidential nominee of a major political party. She served as the 67th Secretary of State—from January 21, 2009, until February 1, 2013—after nearly four decades in public service advocating on behalf of children and families as an attorney, First Lady, and Senator. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother.
