Blitzen Trapper Premiere The Title Track From New Album 'Wild and Reckless' with Consequence of Sound

Blitzen Trapper Premiere The Title Track From New Album Wild and Reckless with Consequence of Sound Album out November 3
US Tour Kicks Off November 2 in Atlanta, GAOn November 3, the Portland, OR-based Blitzen Trapper will release  Wild & Reckless , a new album born of their staged musical of the same title and also a compaion to their 2008 breakthrough album Furr. Today, Consequence of Soundpremiered the album's title track and said "the song is the equivalent of an adrenaline shot of invincibility — the kind of anthem people turn up loud in the car as they’re speeding off to some unknown destination, the wind’s blow their only guidance." Stream "Wild and Reckless" via YouTube:https://youtu.be/OFkqthth0n4
"Wild and Reckless is about looking back on the crazy days of youth and wondering how you survived those sketchy times with danger eternally nosing at your heels," explains frontman Eric Earley about the song. "And when you look back now there’s this feeling like, I’ll never be as alive as I was then. Reality will never seem that vibrant and embraceable. Whether that’s true or not isn’t important, it’s just a feeling, life’s intractable ability to hoodwink us into seeing the past as a shinning corona, even when there’s only darkness at the center." Wild and Reckless is now available for pre-order via iTunesAmazon, and their website. Recently, Entertainment Weekly premiered the video for "Rebel," the first single to be released from the forthcoming album.  The album Wild & Reckless was born from the stage production that the band spent the better part of a year producing. The half musical, half rock-opera dealt with heroin abuse, desperation, true love and western power structures. The story evoked a bygone era of Portland with this sci-fi love story, featuring a rock-and-roll score that paired unreleased songs with favorites from the band’s catalog.  Following the success of the production, the band took 7 original songs from the production and developed the theme further into the 12 songs that comprise the new album Wild & Reckless. Frontman Eric Earley also sees the record as a companion and extention of their 2008 album Furr. "Wild and Reckless is something like a cross-eyed stepchild to Furr, in that it chronicles the darker dystopian stories of rural and suburban west coast death-drive via a riffing psychedelic landscape. Ten years after Furr with all its talk of murder and the end of the western world, it seems there's more to tell." Blitzen Trapper is Eric Earley (songwriter/singer), Erik Menteer (guitar, keyboard),Brian Adrian Koch (drums, vocals), Michael Van Pelt (bass) and Marty Marquis(keyboard, vocals). Wild & Reckless was produced by Eric Earley and Michael Van Pelt and was recorded by Gregg Williams at the Trench, in Portland, OR.  It was mixed by James Brown (Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon, Blitzen Trapper's All Across This Land) at The Union. The band will embark on a national tour with select support from Lilly Hiatt this winter to celebrate the release of the album. THE SHINS SHARE STOP-MOTION ANIMATED VIDEO FOR “CHERRY HEARTS”

THE SHINS SHARE STOP-MOTION ANIMATED VIDEO FOR “CHERRY HEARTS”

WATCH THE SHINS’ PERFORMANCE OF “CHERRY HEARTS” ON
THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN  HERE

EXTENSIVE WORLD TOUR CONTINUES THROUGH DECEMBERThe Shins have released their new stop-motion animated video for “Cherry Hearts,” watch the Stefano Bertelli-directed clip made entirely out of paper here. Earlier this week, the band visited The Late Late Show with James Corden for the television debut performance of the song. The Shins will release a “Cherry Hearts” single bundle on October 13, which will include the original album recording, the flipped version which is foundationally identical yet sonically different, and the RAC Remix.

The Shins continued their extensive world tour last month, which runs through December. The band played a sold-out show at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre on Saturday and will play the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO tonight. The east coast run of US dates kicks off in Washington D.C. on November 2 with shows in New York City, New Orleans, and Atlanta before heading overseas. See below full itinerary below.

Produced by James Mercer, The Shins’ fifth album, Heartworms, was released March 10 to a wave of acclaim: Entertainment Weekly called Heartworms the “band’s boldest album yet” and “a rewarding and singular addition to the Shins’ catalog,” Rolling Stone lauded its “home-brewed feel, heavy on Beach Boys grandeur, New Wave kicks, squiggly synth-pop and warm-weather soft rock – with lyrics tenderly balanced between midlife malaise and youthful romanticism. The result is some of the most charming music he's ever made,” while Time magazine opined “Heartworms works on a grander scale, with ornate sonic tableaux.”

Heartworms  is available everywhere now via Aural Apothecary/Columbia Records.

ALBUM TO FEATURE 13 PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONGS & 12 RE-RECORDINGS OF BEACH BOYS CLASSICS
Wild Honey World Tour to Continue with Dates into 2018

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 5, 2017- Legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee,Grammy®Winner, New York Times Best-Selling Author, co-founder and chief lyricist of The Beach Boys,Mike Love, is set to release a special double album on November 17 through BMG. Entitled Unleash the Love, the albumwill feature 13 previously unreleased songs and 12 re-recordings of Beach Boys classics. The album is produced by Grammy®-winning producer, Michael Lloyd. To listen to the title track off of the album, "Unleash The Love," click here: http://bit.ly/2wyosO9. The album will be released on digital, double CD, and 2LP formats. It will be available for pre-order on October 27- once pre-ordered, fans will be able to stream and instantly download 3 album tracks (Do It Again, Darlin' and All the Love in Paris).
For more than fifty years, Mike Love has been the lead singer and front man of The Beach Boys taking the sounds of America's band to every corner of the globe- playing for crowds of up to 750,000 fans. Mike has co-authored more than a dozen hit singles, cementing The Beach Boys as one of the only artists to have produced twelve Top 10 Singles within 5 years. With iconic and timeless tracks like "Good Vibrations," "Fun, Fun, Fun," "I Get Around," and "Kokomo," The Beach Boys have created some of the most performed songs in pop music history.
Unleash The Love is a testament to, and continuation of, Mike Love's remarkable career. The new tracks range from rock, gospel, R&B and pop and celebrate Love's journey to find personal love and peace. Love's history with Transcendental meditation anchors a number of songs including "Ram Raj" a song celebrating the divine; "Pisces Brothers," a tribute to the late George Harrison and the experiences they both shared in India in 1968 and "Cool Head, Warm Heart" a breezy pop song, which borrows its title from a saying by Maharishi Mahesh. The album also includes a prayer for the planet "Only One Earth." As with all of the unreleased tracks, a sense of concern is infused in every song: to change what you can, to transcend, and connect to the planet and all its inhabitants through the power of love; which some say is the most powerful force in nature.
"I've been working on these unreleased songs on and off for many years now and I'm excited to share them with the world," said Mike Love. "As a writer, I kept gravitating to this idea of love, in all forms. Romantic love, unrequited love, lasting love, spiritual love, love for the planet, and what the absence of love can do to us as a people. This album is my way of communicating what the world needs now is love sweet love. And the hope is if we all can unleash whatever love is inside of us, we can collectively make this world better."
In addition to the collection of Mike Love original songs, the special double album features new versions of classic hits recorded by members of The Beach Boys touring band such as "California Girls," "Help Me Rhonda," "Good Vibrations," "Do It Againfeaturing Mark McGrathand John Stamos, as well as"Darlin'" featuring AJR.
Earlier this month, the paperback version of Mike Love's New York Times best-selling memoir, GOOD VIBRATIONS: My Life as a Beach Boy hit shelves. The book is published by Blue Rider Press, a member of Penguin Group (USA). Pick up your copy here.

RSVP: www.facebook.com/events/271709973321968 ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Explore the thinly veiled world of your subconscious and the psyche of modern society through a unique and powerful collection of surreal, controversial & provocative international artists. Modern Panic VIII is Curated by James Elphick, founder of Guerrilla Zoo. This year we are proud to feature one of the most influential and important photographic artists of the 21st century. For over forty years Roger Ballen has explored the recesses of what we call reality, his version an entropic mirror to our own.  A sacrament of what it is to be strange, Ballen has always defied the rational, pushing boundaries with effortless finesse. More recently his works have dipped into the mainstream through collaborations with rave-rap group Die Antwoord.                       This year we feature the works of over 50 artists. Among them:  Sam Hamilton (aka Toonpunk) is a political artist whose work of Julian Assange giving his infamous speech at the Ecuadorian Embassy in 2012 has become the poster for the ‘Free Assange’ campaign supporting the non-profit website that publishes secret information, news leaks, and classified media, WikiLeaks.

Ellie Pennick will exhibit her controversial sculpture of Prime Minister Theresa May. Far from shy about tackling matters such as politics and society, she often sexualises her pieces for satirical perspective.   New York-based Ronald Gonzalez will bring a glimpse of the confrontational and estranged, exploring a dissolute image of human perversities and misfortune.  Emily Robinson explores mental illness and taboo subjects relating to the body and the human condition, in particular Body Dysmorphia Disorder and the effect it has on its sufferers.  The fine art photography of Ben Hopper has often gone viral due to his thought-provoking images. Closely collaborating with local and international performance artists, Hopper galvanizes with a stunning series of contorted portraits.

Mehreen Hashmi’s paintings are a narration of her emotional struggle as a survivor of sexual abuse in Pakistan, and a statement about the psychological and emotional impact of abuse on children, as well as adults.  Iain Macarthur’s surreal and beautiful illustrations examine ordinary people in an unusual way, embellishing on subtle hints to transform faces into something entirely bizarre.  Our poster design this year was created by the talented Natalie Shau, whose digital masterpieces are inspired by Gothic horror fiction, fairy tales and Russian literary classics.

The Modern Panic exhibition series is inspired by the work of the Panic Movement, birthed by the artists Alejandro Jodorowsky, Fernando Arrabal and Roland Topor, who created provocative live arts events in France during the 1960s. The works’ intended aim was to slice through the bourgeois art world and to be the catalyst of thought liberation within the viewer. Modern Panic follows in the footsteps of this movement, and exhibits the new wave of modern provocateurs. We will be adding more artists to the line up over the coming days and also our ground breaking live arts programme. Stay tuned for further announcements!////////////////////////////////////////////

the Jesus Lizard Announce First Tour In 8 Years!

THE JESUS LIZARD CONFIRM US TOUR DATES IN DECEMBER

The Jesus Lizard have confirmed a December tour of the U.S.  The band - who have not played live since 2009 - will kick things off in Nashville, TN on December 8. They play New York City on December 10 and Los Angeles on December 14.  These newly confirmed dates are in addition to the band's previously announced appearance during the Day For Night Festival happening in Houston, TX December 16 - 18. The complete list of tour dates is:
12/8 - Cannery Ballroom - Nashville, TN *12/9 - Metro - Chicago, IL *12/10 - Irving Plaza - New York, NY *12/14 - The Fonda Theatre - Los Angeles, CA *12/15 - The Independent - San Francisco, CA *12/16-17- Day For Night Festival - Houston, TX
* = tickets for all headlining shows are on-sale Friday, October 6.
The Jesus Lizard formed in late 80's Austin, TX after David Yow (vox) and David Wm. Sims' (bass) previous band Scratch Acid broke up.  They started the Jesus Lizard withDuane Denison (guitar) and a drum machine and recorded their debut EP Pure with Steve Albini in 1989.  A move to Chicago prompted the firing of the drum machine in favor of Mac McNeilly (drums) and in 1990 the band recorded their first full-length, Head , for Touch and Go.
While the labels "seminal" and "legendary" are often applied too easily, they both accurately describe the Jesus Lizard.  They released five more remarkable LPs before disbanding in 1999, the last being 1998's   Blue . During that time, they toured endlessly and issued not only the critically acclaimed studio LPs but also assorted singles, EPs, compilations and a live album.  Pitchfork has said of them: "the Jesus Lizard raised a bar that few bands have reached since...Rarely does a band have each member adding something essential to such a united, ferocious whole."
December's tour will no doubt remind everyone that the Jesus Lizard excelled not only in the studio but on stage.  The band is indeed matchless in that capacity. Stereogumhave called them "one of the greatest live bands ever" and The New York Times has used the words "extravagantly good" while Rolling Stone speaks of the band's "shattering live performances."
2008 saw the band regroup and the following year they toured the world with dates that included a slot at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and All Tomorrow's Parties in the UK and upstate New York.  No plans exist for any performances beyond this December slate.

2017 international tour dates now underway

Strange Peace  is available now from Sub Pop Records (Worldwide, ex-Canada) and Royal Mountain Records (in Canada)Toronto-based noise punk trio METZ have created a short film entitled Making Strange Peace, which captures the band during the recording process of their new album with engineer Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago.

Entertainment Weekly premiered the film, and had this to say, “Strange Peace, is not only their best yet, but one of the year’s best rock releases. Now, in a new video EW is excited to premiere, you can go inside the feverish sessions that yielded the wild LP [see October 4th story].” METZ also recently shared a new video for Strange Peace’s lead single “Cellophane.” As described by director Shayne Ehman, the visual depicts a sphere where “consciousness is split, and a world of contrast unfolds. The resulting disembodiment disperses one’s spatial awareness and new kinds of empathy develop. Two become three, and it’s only half the story [watch here].”

METZ’s international tour schedule in support of Strange Peace is underway, with a show tonight, October 4th in Brooklyn at Music Hall of Williamsburg. The tour currently runs through December 16th in Houston at Warehouse Live. During that run, METZ will serve as direct support for Modest Mouse on October 10th and 11th.

Additionally, METZ will play shows with Uniform (October 2nd-8th), Protomartyr (November 2nd-8th), Brian Case (November 9th), Drahla (November 12th-24th), newly-signed labelmates Moaning (December 7th-16th), and Cherubs (December 15th). All of their current tour dates follow.

METZ have also scheduled a Pitchfork Live performance for Thursday, October 5th at noon EST.
