Tei Shi Premieres Video For "Say You Do," On Tour Now!

TEI SHI PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR "SAY YOU DO" ON NPR'S FIRST WATCH
ON HEADLINE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR NOW
Photo Credit: JJ MedinaTei Shi is in the midst of her massive North American fall tour and to celebrate the run of shows, Tei Shi has dropped her new video for "Say You Do."

NPR premiered it as a First Watch, describing the video saying, "The clip follows Teicher riding around in a neon-lit limousine as manifestations of her various personas dance beside her, pushing up against the walls of the car and climbing over each other in crowded chaos. Bell says the limo represents an alternate reality in which she's removed from the pressures of modern life."
The video's directors, Bradly Bell & Pablo Jones-Soler, took some time to chat with NPR about the video. Bell spoke on the limo in the video, saying it "represents an alternate reality in which she's removed from the pressures of modern life. "It's a safe space where things can be complicated," Bell says. "Inside, she's allowed to explore all the different sides of her childhood, her influences, her art, and really blossom."
Tei Shi describes the video to NPR in her own words saying, "There's this idea that if you change, or evolve, or dare to be complicated, you're in authentic, but I'm a chameleon, I'm always evolving," she said. "There's power in saying, 'I have many versions of myself and I can tap into whatever I want.'"
2017 has been a huge year for the artist, debuting Crawl Space to critical acclaim, touring the world and receiving rave reviews for her fresh and dynamic take on pop music. All tour dates are listed below.
Crawl Space is out now on Downtown Records.

"The spindly compositions that Valerie Teicher records as Tei Shi are fierce in their modesty, making spare use of whispered high notes and loud screams."   The New Yorker
"Tei Shi may have been a long time coming, but "Keep Running" feels like the debut of an artist properly establishing her musical identity with plenty of potential for success."  V Magazine
"Swooning synth-pop and the latter's psychedelic soul" Stereogum
"Prepare your roommates for the impromptu karaoke sessions you'll be having to this song all year long." Cosmopolitan, 25 Albums to Obsess Over in 2017
"Tei Shi's debut full-length record is a self-excavation, an unearthing of former identities in the hope of transforming her current one." - Interview Magazine
"'Crawl Space' draws the focus in on Tei Shi's compelling and sultry vocals like never before" Clash Magazine
"Tei Shi's acrobatic vocals shine once again on "How Far,"... The track - which pairs gut-wrenching lyrics like "If it pleases you to see me struggle/ I will" with dreamy guitars and buzzing production - explores the thin line between love and destruction. And it'll stick with you."  FADER
""Keep Running," a silky slip of R&B pop, a little Jesse Ware, a little Solange. The video, directed by Agostina Gálvez, which you can watch below, features the Colombian-born singer back to brunette, in various satiny numbers, curving her body with the sensual ease with which she delivers her melodies."  Noisey
"Fluttering above light, synth-driven production, the singer's sunny vocals shine, asserting herself as both a prolific producer and acrobatic vocalist."  Out Magazine, Women In Power-Pop: 50 Musicians Taking Over
"Teicher's breathy soprano vocals steal the show; Aaliyah-like, they're the strongest instrument on the album."  BUST

DANIELE LUPPI & PARQUET COURTS RELEASE VIDEO FOR “TALISA” FT. KAREN O

DANIELE LUPPI & PARQUET COURTS RELEASE VIDEO FOR
“TALISA” FT. KAREN O

“TALISA” IS SECOND TRACK FROM CONCEPT ALBUM MILANO

ALBUM  PRE-ORDER  AVAILABLE NOW;
MILANO  TO BE RELEASED ON DANGER MOUSE’S 30th CENTURY RECORDS/COLUMBIA RECORDS OCTOBER 27Italian artist and producer, Daniele Luppi & Parquet Courts’ have teamed up for collaborative album, MILANO, out October 27th on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records.  The LP is inspired by mid-1980s Milan, with songs about misfits, fashionistas, outsiders and artists of the city, set against the backdrop of culture and creativity struggling to survive amidst rapid gentrification.  The album pre-order is available now: http://smarturl.it/MILANOalbum

Ahead of MILANO's release comes the Diego Araujo-directed video for “Talisa”, the track featuring Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O.  The upbeat, fashionable video is a homage to the memorable photoshoot scene in retro British-Italian film, Blow Up, whilst the song itself - written by Luppi and Karen O - is a love letter to Talisa Soto, a celebrated model, actress and close friend and muse of Gianni Versace.

Watch “Talisa” featuring Karen O here: http://smarturl.it/TalisaVid
Purchase and stream “Talisa” featuring Karen O here: http://smarturl.it/Talisa

Luppi says of the video: “After my initial input and references, mostly the amazing Antonioni’s Blow Up, I let Diego do his thing, the only caveat being I wanted to feel like we were in 1980s Milan.  Something seemingly quite out of reach since he was shooting in Quito, Ecuador, but he pulled it off: he found an Alfa Romeo collector, he created a Milanese subway sign and he stole the 25 year-old Betacams from the University of Cinema for the weekend shoot… Hopefully nobody will ever find out…”

Karen O adds: “When Daniele brought up the indulgent Milan, 80's fashion scene as an inspiration I immediately started scrolling through all the supermodels from back then and Talisa Soto stuck out as the best sounding name, I've always wanted to write a song with a woman's name as the chorus and “Talisa” had that hook about it.”

MILANO can easily be seen as the final volume of Luppi’s Italian album trilogy, sealing an expansive love letter to his homeland’s famed arts and culture. Whereas his last two records, Italian Story and Rome, pay homage to iconic grooves by The Marc 4 and soaring Spaghetti Western Era film scores, Luppi’s newest effort examines the gritty 1980’s New York Punk scene and its influence on Milanese music, fashion, and high-art.

SCANNER: Robin Rimbaud's 1st studio album in 8yrs out Dec 1st on Anna von Hausswolff's label Pomperipossa

Stereo Sanctity SCANNER- ANNOUNCES FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN 8 YEARS
‘FIBOLAE’ TO BE RELEASED ON DEC 1ST 2017
  VIA POMPERIPOSSA RECORDS
- HEAR "SAVAGE IS SAVAGE" NOW
- TO PLAY 22RPM FESTIVAL IN LONDON THIS SATURDAYOver the last twenty five years Robin Rimbaud – Scanner has traversed the experimental terrain between sound, space and image, connecting a bewilderingly diverse array of genres – a partial list would include sound design, film scores, computer music, avant garde, contemporary composition, large-scale multimedia performances, product design, architecture, fashion design, rock music and jazz.

Today he announces his first studio album since 2009,  ‘Fibolae’ , set for release on December 1st 2017 via the independent label run by Anna von Hausswolff, Pomperipossa Records.

Hear the first cut from the record, “Savage is Savage”https://soundcloud.com/scanner/savage-is-savage/

With a catalogue busy with commissions, soundtracks and strange projects this is the first studio album since 2009’s Rockets, ‘Unto the Edge of Rockets’ (Bine Music). In this time much has changed – he lost his entire family and left the comfort of a familiar city, London, to live in a former textile factory in the UK to re-invent his life.

‘Fibolae’  offers up a world that splinters between melancholia and penetrating energy. Combining digital technologies, software and live instrumentation it is both a rhetoric of mourning and a celebration of music to empower. Warm, organic, sensual, passionate and frequently angry, it’s an album that radiates with possibilities.

As to the meaning of the title,  ‘Fibolae’ ? There is none. It was a word that appeared to Scanner in a dream, at a time of great challenges in his life. The fact that his unconscious mind could conjure up such inventions that offer no history and context was appealing and yet it was suggestive, playful and open.

'Fibolae' is available to pre-order at https://pomperipossarecords.com/products/scanner-fibolae.

Scanner live dates:
07 Oct London, UK 22rpm Festival, St John on Bethnal Green

the church Release 26th Album - Man Woman Life Death Infinity - out Friday 10/6 - On Tour Now

the church Release 26th AlbumMan Woman Life Death Infinity out Friday 10/6 On Tour in N. America Now
"…the music of the church still sounds vital and challenging. They sound just as hungry and exciting as they did three decades ago."
ABC News

"There is nothing, or not much, that is obvious and instant about the church. Songs that at first pass you by flare into life once you've paid them proper respect and attention…no doubt why people care so deeply about them."
news.com.au

"Arguably one of the greatest Australian bands of all time."
Tone Deaf

October 2nd, New York, NY: One of the most indelible, progressive and passionately admired rock bands of our time, the church release another masterpiece of sonic exploration,  Man Woman Life Death Infinity . The ARIA Hall of Fame band's 26th album is their second with the rejuvenated line-up - Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes, Tim Powles and Ian Haug - and is released this Friday worldwide.
The past several years have been wildly successful for the church, pulling a 20,000 strong crowd at at Primavera Sound, a performance at SXSW, four North American tours and their first European tour in almost a decade. The band is presently touring in support of their new album in the states. Woven with classics spanning almost 50 years of underground glory, the set will feature selections from  Man Woman Life Death Infinity,  including the shape-shifting dreamscape of the first, exhilarating cut, ' Another Century' , and its imminent follow-up, new single ' Undersea' : yet another new dimension of chiming strings and kaleidoscopic images.
Man Woman Life Death Infinity  is where the revitalized quartet's freshly tuned chemistry reaches a new potency and precision: ten songs, 45 minutes, and a quantum leap into unexplored territory as strange as it is irresistible. Written in two separate sessions in March across Ian Haug's Airlock Studios in Brisbane and Tim Powles' Space Junk Studios in Sydney  Man Woman Life Death Infinity  is the first full length since the early 90s where the band have collected their song ideas before hitting the record light and just 'going with the flow'.  Co-produced alongside long-term audio accomplice Ted Howard at Rancom Street Studios,  Man Woman Life Death Infinity   delivers a more succinct release than 2014's  Further/Deeper.

Singer, lyricist and bassist Steve Kilbey explains this 26th full length offering is the church's 'water record'.  "I guess water is my element. I've always marveled at the sea and rivers and rain. It wasn't conscious at all but on reflection, it definitely is a preoccupation on this record. What that means, I don't know," he says. "This is an album we’re really looking forward to exploring live," he says. "The way I write lyrics is very stream-of-consciousness. I never question them until we perform live, so I discover them in time as much as the audience."

The Rural Alberta Advantage shares new track; tour starts this month

THE RURAL ALBERTA ADVANTAGESHARES NEW TRACK "TOUGHEN UP"
NEW ALBUM THE WILDDUE OCTOBER 13, 2017 VIA SADDLE CREEK
TOURING NORTH AMERICA THIS FALL
STREAM // EMBED "TOUGHEN UP"
The Rural Alberta Advantage -- Nils Edenloff, Paul Banwatt and Robin Hatch -- are excited to share " Toughen Up ," the latest single from their new album  The Wild , due October 13 via Saddle Creek (with Paper Bag Records releasing the record in Canada, Europe and the UK). The single, which showcases the band's versatility while still retaining the earnest RAA sound fans know and love, is available to stream or embed  HERE  and on  YouTube . Album pre-orders can be found HERE.
The band will also hit the road joined by Vancouver's Yukon Blonde for two months through North America beginning October 20. The U.S. dates include a two night stand in New York City, as well as stops in Washington D.C., AtlantaNashvilleLos AngelesSan Francisco and more. The full list of tour dates on sale now can be found below.
Change is constant. Certainly that's always been the case with the Rural Alberta Advantage. Through three albums, Juno and Polaris nominations, the steady hum of critical praise and the relentless miles of constant touring, the trio have not just been confronted with change, they have been wailing, pounding and sighing their way through it. Change hung over them in the melancholy nostalgia of Hometowns , shook them during the finding-your-feet urgency of  Departing  and found its way through their cracks in the turmoil of  Mended with Gold . Though it's always left a mark on the band, as they journey into The Wild, their fourth album, this perpetual change seemed to be casting a darker shadow. Maybe it's the fact that singer and songwriter Edenloff almost watched his childhood home of Fort McMurray burn to the ground. Maybe it's just that everyone in the band is getting older. Maybe it's just that we've all had a rough year. But never before has the band felt quite so surrounded by the heaviness of being - nor quite so determined to pull through.
