The Grammy Award winning musician released an animated music video for the song on October 19th. See the video here. Echoing influences from his time as a composer over the past few years, the music of the new record paints a cinematic soundscape. BLUE LIPS is the intended companion to Tove Lo’s Top 10 second album Lady Wood . The complete Lady Wood Story is told across each album’s 2 chapter’s – Fairy Dust and Fire Fade off of Lady Wood , and Light Beams and Pitch Black off of BLUE LIPS. The provocative, critically acclaimed album included “cool girl,” the worldwide platinum single whose video has netted over 48 million YouTube views to date. “cool girl,” was one of five songs from Lady Wood that were featured in Fairy Dust , the raw and bold 31-minute film that accompanied the album release, in which Tove Lo made her acting debut alongside “alter ego” co-star Lina Esco (Kingdom, Flaked).

Shabazz Palaces have delivered a powerful new video for “Since C.A.Y.A.,” [link here] the elastic and transportive track from the group’s acclaimed Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star. The new visual stars Shabazz Palaces’ Palaceer Lazaro with footage shot by director Kahlil Joseph, cinematography by Marcus Reposar, and is helmed by returning collaborator Stephan Gray (“Dawn in Luxor”).
DIY calls the “Since C.A.Y.A” video “glitchy and disquieting...The Thundercat-featuring track gets a black and white visual to match; all crashing waves, pixelated distortion, foreboding tunnels, and writhing snakes (seevideo premiere October 30th).”
“Since C.A.Y.A.” features dazzlingly funky bass licks by the magnificent Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner and was produced by Knife Knights (aka Ishmael Butler and Erik Blood), recorded and mixed by Blood at Protect and Exalt Labs: A Black Space in Seattle.
Last week, Shabazz Palaces’ “Tiny Desk Concert” performance premiered on NPR Music.
NPR Music’s Rodney Carmichael says of the performance, “Palaceer Lazaro lays the ground rules for all present to enter the group's metaphysical headspace. And, man, talk about being transported to the other side. It's impossible not to envision the Seattle studio, Black Space Labs, where Shabazz's otherworldly soundscapes emerge to provide the ideal backdrop for shining a light on the fake...Leave it to hip-hop's unorthodox lot to conceive an ambitious pairing that launches the narrative's protagonist on an interstellar journey far from home. It's the perfect proxy for the growing sense of alienation we're all suffering, to some degree or another, in today's space and time...While the premise of Tiny Desk usually involves artists stripping down their set, Shabazz Palaces' entire steelo is about unplugging from the metaphorical matrix, and sometimes a hybrid of digital-analog plugins is exactly what it takes to navigate alternate dimensions [see more at NPR Music].”

Tera Melos premiere the official video for "Warpless Run" from their recently released third album Trash Generator today via NPR. The clip features world record holding Super Mario Bros "speedrunning" player Darbian (more about that in a moment). The song itself is an album standout featuring guest vocals on the coda by Rob Crow of Pinback. Watch & share the video HERE. (Direct YouTube.)

About the video and "speedrunning", vocalist/guitarist Nick Reinhart explains:
"Speedrunning is when a human beats a video game as fast as possible. It's a FASCINATING practice that involves tons of bizarre in-game science to make these runs as fast as humanly possible. Darbian is basically the Michael Jordan of Super Mario Bros (SMB1). His speedruns are legendary. Darbian is the current Super Mario Bros Any% world record holder, and has been many times in the past ("Any%" is a record category that allows the use of every trick in the book in order to complete the game).
"For a stretch of time, Darbian was working on the SMB1 'warpless run' world record. This is where you complete the game without using any of the warps (located in world 1-4 and 4-2). During one of these runs Darbian mentioned how there are things you don't get to see throughout the Any% runs. One thing in particular is world 3 and world 6. Those two worlds are set at nighttime and they have a very different look from the rest of the worlds. He talked about how they're the coolest looking levels that we never see because we're all too busy trying to beat the game as fast as possible. That really resonated with me, so we wrote a song about it! (and we got Rob Crow to be a part of it!)
"We had this wacky idea to try and recreate one of Darbian's speedruns with a made-up Tera Melos-style video game. I gave our longtime visual collaborator, Behn Fannin, a call. Then I wondered, 'it would be pretty cool if we could actually get Darbian in the video..." I figured there's no harm in asking, so i sent him a message and he was into it!! Next thing you know, Behn sends us this video game he had made from scratch plus a duplication of Darbian's live Twitch stream layout. It blew our minds. And finally, we got to have the legendary Darbian speedrun our own video game, in which the soundtrack is one of the weirdest songs we've ever written."
Trash Generator, the trio's third full length, is an astonishing blast of confidence and rejuvenation. It sounds as if the 4-year downtime since their last album has recharged the band with an entirely new sense of purpose. The performances are brilliant and sharp, the songs concise yet intricately detailed, and the album production deftly captures the band's strength as a live unit. Their dalliances with mellower psychedelic phrases on their previous two albums, X'ed Out (2013) and Patagonian Rats(2010) are significantly trimmed and instead utilized as colorations within a swirling maelstrom of righteous aggro punk-jazz abandon. As such, it sounds like Tera Melos has fully metabolized their pop tendencies and found a way they can coexist with the band's iconoclast origins. Tera Melos -- guitarist/vocalist Nick Reinhart, bassist Nathan Latona and drummer John Clardy -- have learned to stop worrying and just be Tera Melos.
In the downtime since their last full length, Reinhart remained active in multiple endeavors: contributing guitar to Death Grips' The Powers That B and Bottomless Pit albums + the I.L.Y.'s (Zach Hill and Andy Morin's other band), Big Walnuts Yonder (with Mike Watt, Nels Cline andGreg Saunier), Portugal.the man and many others. Latona completed a college degree he'd put off for 11 years. Clardy became and integral faculty member at the School of Rock in Dallas/Ft. Worth, inspiring young musicians with his real-world approach to learning music.
"Wth this record it was 100% let's not concern ourselves with what we should be doing at this point in the band's lifespan, and just fully focus on what makes us happy," Reinhart says.

Industrial metal pioneers Godflesh will release their new album Post Self on November 17 via frontman Justin K. Broadrick's Avalanche Recordings. Over two years in the making, Post Self explores the less metal side of Godflesh, taking in their formative influences to conjure something more informed by late 70's/early 80's post-punk and industrial. The album deals with themes of anxiety, depression, fear, mortality, and paternal/maternal relationships.
Godflesh's last album, A World Lit Only By Fire , was released in October 2014.

Tuesday, October 31 -- Today Langhorne Slim shares a music video for his single "Zombie." The video was directed by Joshua Shoemaker and shot in Nashville, TN. It's an absurdist take on a typical relationship music video where Slim dates a zombie and finds himself stumbling through horror tropes. Inspired by classic horror films such as Scream, Psycho and The Shining, the video premiered via Nerdist who note, "this folk ode to dating a Zombie is the perfect Halloween song."

On November 10th, Langhorne Slim will release his newest LP, Lost at Last Vol. 1 via Dualtone. Since announcing the album he has shared several singles and tracks by way of 3 EPs -Never Break, Life Is Confusing and most recently, Funny Feelin'. "Zombie" continues to enjoy support at Triple A and non-comm radio and is the #1 most added album at Americana with airplay from core stations like KCSN (Los Angeles), KCMP-The Current (Minneapolis), KDHX (St Louis), KTHX (Reno), KRSH (Santa Rosa), WMOT Roots Radio (Nashville), KPFT (Houston), WMNF (Tampa) and more. Alice Cooper To Appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On Halloween

Tomorrow, on Halloween, Alice Cooper will, as might be expected, have a multi-media presence. After all, Alice Cooper IS Halloween. He'll be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with special guest host Dave Grohl, while SiriusXM will be repeating their Town Hall interview with him throughout the day, and, of course, Alice's "Nights With Alice Cooper" radio show, broadcast throughout the US and Canada on terrestrial radio, will be Halloween-themed.
Cooper's latest album, Paranormal came out this summer on earMUSIC and can be ordered via Amazon and iTunes today. The album features two songs written and recorded with the original members of the Alice Cooper band and also boasts guest appearances by ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons, U2 drummer Larry Mullen andRoger Glover of Deep Purple. Paranormal was produced by long-time collaborator Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Deep Purple). In addition to the new studio album and the two new recordings from the original Alice Cooper band, fans will receive a bonus of 6 live tracks recorded at one of Cooper's 2016 shows in Columbus, OH.
Alice Cooper has recently announced a North American 2018 tour kicking off on March 1st. Full list of tour dates below.
