SUNDAY FUNNY

You don’t need to speak or understand Yiddish to find this funny!

4 Jewish brothers left home for college, and eventually, they became
successful doctors, and lawyers and prospered.
Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together.
They discussed the gifts that they were able to give to their elderly
mother, who lived far away in another city.
The first said, “I had a big house built for Mama.”
The second said, “I had a hundred thousand dollar theater built in the
house.”
The third said, “I had my Mercedes dealer deliver her a SL 600 with a
chauffeur.”
The fourth said, “Listen to this. You know how Mama loved reading the Torah
and you know she can’t anymore because she can’t see very well. I met this
Rabbi who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Torah. It took
twenty rabbis 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute £100,000
a year for twenty years to the temple, but it was worth it. Mama just has to
name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it.” The other
brothers were impressed.
After the holidays Mama sent out her “Thank You” notes.
Milton – Bubbeleh, the house you built is so huge, I live in only one room,
but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway.
Marvin – Mine Shayne Kindeleh. I am too old to travel. I stay home. I have
my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes and the driver you hired
is a Nazi. The thought was good. Thanks.
Menachim – Tataleh, you give me an expensive theatre with Dolby sound, it
could hold 50 people, but all my friends are dead. I’ve lost my hearing and
I’m nearly blind. I’ll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the
same.
Dearest Melvin – You were the only son to have the good sense to give a
little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious.

HAHAHAHA!

HAPPY SUNDAY!

What are you Reading? by Carly

Yes, it’s Saturday … and I want to know what you’re reading! I’ll be starting Bella Jewel’s second MC Sinners book, Hell’s Knights.  It’s a very gritty motor cycle club book that hooked me on the series … well book 1 was, anyway! :) WHAT ARE YOU READING? Tell me, then head on over to my Facebook Fan Page and tell me again!

Happy Saturday! :snoopydance:

College Apps & Empty Nest Soon! by Carly

wd7Weird, right? We went from a house-full of four to down one … and now we’re sending out college applications for my youngest.  My baby! I can’t believe she’ll be gone next year.  WAAH! We have two graduations this spring.  My oldest is graduating college and of course the high school graduation.  The oldest doesn’t plan to move back home, so we really are talking empty nest.  On the one hand, we talk about spending more time in Florida, and picking vacations that don’t revolve around school vacations … on the other … WAAH! I’m not ready! At least I have another year!  Who’s gone through it? Love it? Hate it? Mixed?

Guest Marquita Valentine & Giveaway! by Carly

I’m so happy to have Marquita Valentine back to talk about her latest release, ONLY FOR YOU.  I’ve read it.  It’s awesome.  I’ll let her tell you all about the book, the New Adult genre, and her hot, hero, Cole Morgan!

WELCOME BACK!

I’m so stoked to be back at Plotmonkeys to celebrate my latest release, ONLY FOR YOU. It’s the second book in my new adult series, Boys of the South.  There’s been a lot of talk about the new adult genre: what it is, what it isn’t, and why you should take a chance on it.

Feel free to ask me anything you want in the comments below. I’ll be happy to answer!

But first things first, let me share a picture of our very handsome hero, Cole Morgan:

iStock_000001690757_SmallCole’s a bad boy bartender, working just to get by while taking care of his little sister… and he just so happens to date Country Music Princess, Violet Lynn aka Violet Rae Givens.  Sounds like something straight out of a fairy tale—only she’s the one with the money and fame, not him.

Unfortunately, fame and fortune take its toll on their relationship, and when Violet’s ex-boyfriend (and first love)comes back, heart set on winning her back…well, you’ll just have to read ONLY FOR YOU to see how it all pans out.

But don’t worry, I promise a happily ever after for two of the three main characters in ONLY FOR YOU.

Thanks for hosting me in the jungle today, ladies!

GIVEAWAY!

To ce image for carly_edited-1 lebrate the release of ONLY FOR YOU, I’m gifting one lucky commentor with the LIVE FOR YOU (BOYS OF THE SOUTH #1) and ONLY FOR YOU (BOYS OF THE SOUTH #2).

Blurb:

Loose ends left loose for too long tend to strangle.

Cole and Violet knew it wouldn’t be easy. They knew their relationship would take work. But when the press finds out about Violet Lynn’s newest boyfriend, they start digging. And when his past come to light, exposing all of his family’s secrets, their relationship begins to fray.

Country Music’s Golden Boy, Jaxon Hunter, has it all, except the girl that got away. What she saw, she really didn’t. What she thought happened, he allowed her to believe for reasons so insane that no one would ever have believed him if he had confessed. But now that everything’s out in the open, he’s going to do his damndest to convince her that he’s the only one for her.

Now Violet must choose between Jaxon— her first love and the guy she thought had cheated on her—and Cole—the guy who helped her heal and love again.

Or will one of them make the decision for her?

I wish I could give you a fascinating blog today but the fact is, I’m wiped out.  This has been a very busy busy week and I’m barely keeping my head above water.  Have to get ready for Yom Kippur and the holiday this weekend … and I’m seriously fried and exhausted, so forgive me!  Are you having a quieter, more relaxing week than I am?
