Mr. Cline aspires to so little, it’s tragic.

Mr. Cline’s ethics & morality are borrowed and hollow, as removed from reality as his fantasies.

sheesh this is dark

feats of interviewing & curation, but lazy writing

secondary characters speaking in parentheses is a flag

uh... anybody who doesn’t recognize the faun should not be reading this book

ugh not sure I can muster the interest for another expose of rich NYC assholes

first person unreliable, then court transcripts, now third-person limited omniscience. haphazard.

this is the kind of book you can read down the middle of the page

“a grotesque number of little briquettes of fried chicken.”

first of all, they’re at Burger King. they’re chicken nuggets.

second: how many wouldn’t be “grotesque”— is there a tolerable number? I don’t believe the writer thinks so.

third: “briquettes” implies little.

this much lazy & assumptive writing— even worse, in an excess of words —does not bode well on page three.
