I don’t much care for the pre-pandemic narrative, goes on too long and I’m already anticipating the connections…

few novels are expert enough to make their author’s opinion of humanity so painfully apparent…

while this novel is precisely written and I will be finishing it, Mr. Savage’s viewpoint is so… savage as to make his story almost superfluous. he tips his hand in scenes like at the end of IIIX— exchanges to which we shouldn’t be privy.

this is a riff on the remake D.O.A. with Dennis Quaid & Meg Ryan, remember that? nifty little movie.

the f-word on this page is jarring not as a vulgarity, but as an indication this is no longer a 60s television show we’re reading about— if ever it was. So what is it, then? not sure the author knows either… but what I’m sure of is it is are damned entertaining— best novelization ever?
