Wait...is the new order the Tea Party? This book is filled with metaphors and I can’t help thinking that’s another one.

This chapter is called Irascible Glass Chicken, which would be a great screen name.

I love that the Thunderhead is a cocky jackass, but I also love how that makes sense. An all-knowing, perfect computer would be completely full of itself.

Sometimes I feel like this description of Aza also applies to me “she’s like mustard. Great in small quantities, but a lot of you is a LOT.”

Don’t read this book after watching the Black Mirror Episode “Arkangel”. Aza’s mom will freak the hell out of you if you do.

I hate Lysander bc he’s the most tedious of the narrators in this never ending book and bc I don’t understand his motivations.

Dickens! Love! Also, the Bond references around Daniel Craig’s small part as “freeing stormtrooper” were awesome.

The two trooper discussion about how this movie is Nothing Like the others is one of the best things I’ve ever read.

I find it infuriating that BB8 speaks in a code. If I wanted to solve the code, then it’s a cool puzzle. But if I don’t want to solve it, can’t you give the code break in the back? I shouldn’t have to miss out on enjoying a story because I don’t feel like solving a code...

I love that the reds are painted as having the more conservative views. Feel like that’s intentional...

Darrow is a pirate. Neat. Yarrr. Also, I find myself skimming along until the next Darrow narrated part. Why did he feel the need for multiple narrators?!

“The psychological experts of capitalism”. What a great term for the monsters who make stores unnavigable mazes in order to up sales.

Weeping Angels (the office clerk) and now Silence (Martin’s elongated creatures)? Night Vale channels Doctor Who.

“A firm handshake of a man.” That is a brilliant descriptor. I can visualize that so easily.

On computer ownership: “...giant corporations who controlled the availability of information, helpfully colluding to fix prices for consumers, and thus keeping information freely available to those who could afford it.” Love this commentary. Information access isn’t equal and never has been.

Nothing indicates “shit’s about to go down” more than the phrase “summon the Howlers”. I love these books.

Reading his books is like visiting with an old friend. Comfortable, warm, and well-spoken. (BTW, all my friends are well-spoken in this analogy).

4 books before I realized the “au” in their names refers to gold. And it took the introduction of a Copper with the honorific “cu”. Sigh...I’m slow.
