I am only on page 11 but I am enjoying it. I have laughed a few times, and that makes me happy.

I have finished reading Esther with great joy.

Repetitious but good.

I like it thus far.

I contnue to admire this translation greatly. It just disappears as a translation, leaving me with a text to read for its own sake.

Just finished Ecclesiastes. I love its clear-sighted, non-romantic, anti-sentimental point of view. It is a goo antidote to so many happy happy Christians. - - More to he point, I continue to enjoy this translation.

Proverbs is good in this tanslation, but not as good as the minor prophets.

I nderstand why this is often considered the best novel ever.

I had stopped for a while, but I am back at it.

This is my "read during lunch" book, but it is a bit more gruesome than the rest and I'm at a spot where I may not want to keep reading it while I eat.

I am enjoying it very much.

In subtle ways that I hardly notice, I sometimes forget I am reading Tolstoy and think it is Dostoyesvsky, and then I find myself thinking, "Wait, that doesn't seem quite right."

So many characters, but he delineates each so well that even I can keep them straight. (Normally, I get confused easily.)

I am finding it delightful so far.
