What we have here is a never-ending deluge of sensation. Whew! and wow!

Very exciting. I'm on the edge of my seat.

Enjoying it.

Mis-used words aside, I am really enjoying it.

Something in the style struck me as odd. I could not find the word for it. Was it amateurish? No, not really. There is a strong narrative voice, with observations, beliefs, and something to say. I do not encounter that in most modern fiction.

Whew! Finished chapter 3. The steam-powered "battle" up the shoot was quite exciting!

I love reading. I am not fully myself when I go for a long period without reading books.

"And near this tree on the rocks on the ground was the nest of the terrible Anzu bird." That sentence Is even better in situ at the end of its glorious paragraph.

It got much easier to read with chapter 13, which was very interesting indeed. I am so glad this book exists.

It is becoming more difficult to read, as his style is wearing on me. But still interesting.

I just finished Judith. I have always enjoyed this story about the brave and clever woman who saves her people in an utterly unimaginable way. The translation continues to be good, but there were several missing punctuation marks in this book.

I started this book several years but misplaced it. I have found it and I think I could pick up where I left off. Maybe. We'll see.

Finished Tobit, one of my favorite books of the lighter and fluffier books of the Bible.

Surprisingly good.

WHEW! Oh my goodness. I just finished chapter 30, and that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is what we call a "Climax." whew!

So far so good.

I especially like that, even this far into the book, I do not know the author's stand on theological matters. He must have amazing discipline--or an amazing editor.

I find myself having a little trepidation about the two bad guys--it is so easy to turn such characters into caricatures. But overall the book continues to interest.

In order for the universe to exist, there must be an outside observer. I just read that idea in this book, and thought it myself for the first time last night on the way home from work. Interesting coincidence.

Repetitive but good.

A lot of fun so far.
