OH MY GOODNESS! This is as good as I could have hoped. (I was a tiny bit afraid that I might be disappointed, and that is why I did not read it until now. I am NOT disappointed.)

I love it so far. I am not disappointed. As of page 146, I do not understand at all the negative reviews I have read. Are those people just that shallow?

The meeting with Herb was worth the price of admission. Wow! I am glad I have stuck with it so far just for that one chapter.

Surprisingly dull. And Vicky has appeared in so many books I didn't bother reading all the way through. But I am slogging on because there is something really well done in the writing, I think.

Finished 1 Cor. I believe the mistakes in punctuation have been corrected in a later edition, which is good. But even with the weird comma use, I still really like this translation.

Good. But I am tired of utterly self-centeredness being presented as the norm.

I couldn't wait for the library to get a copy. I bought one myself. Now I own volumes 1 and 7. Maybe I should get all the others, too?

Honestly, I don't trust this translation much. I have no grounds for making any sort of judgement, of course, but in spots it just sounds fishy to me. And since he says nothing about his translation decisions, I can't decide how what I am reading might for in with anything else I have read.

Finished Luke. I have finally found a single word that made me scratch my head, "Why did they translate that way?" 24:16 "but their eyes were *held*" Huh? But other than that one word, I continue to read this without thinking about the fact that it is a translation.

I continue to appreciate the overall plan of the book, while still disliking the frequent errors that wold have been weeded out by a good line editor.

The trouble with self-published books like this one is that there is just not enough editing and proof-reading involved. The story is good, and in general it is well-told, but if only he had had a good editor.

I am liking this very much. I continue to have a dread about the future of Peter and Bea, and I am nervous that it is going to end up being a crude anti-Christianity screed. So far it's not; it is just an honest look at how religious people do and do not deal with the details of life.

Last night my car was stolen, and along with it, this book. The car was found and returned to me within half a day, but THE BOOK IS STILL GONE!!! They stole my book. I am almost done and now I'm not sure how to handle this.

His ideas are good, but he writes so "academically" that sometimes I think this words have come unmoored from meaning.

For some reason, I am finding myself slogging through this one. I love it, but I seem to love it more in theory than in practice.
