I learned yesterday that a movie adaptation is due for September, and Sarah Paulson is play Xandra. Perfect!

How odd for a book series to get better with each book, rather than the usual diminishing returns that most suffer. I'm enjoying this one above and beyond the first.

In light of the impending Veronica Mars miniseries on Hulu and Rob Thomas stating that the books are about 80% canon, I decided it'd be a good idea to reread them.

I am very uncomfortable with a nonfiction book about something that happened in 1894 lowkey using the word “mansplaining,” especially since it was used only semi-correctly

Honestly, for a book published in 1954, having two queer-coded characters written respectfully is really frickin cool.

I was slightly underwhelmed by We Have Always Lived in the Castle and I loved the Netflix series so much that I was afraid the book would ruin the miniseries for me. However, I recently learned that the book is quite a bit different, so I decided to read it.

It (weirdly enough) seems more like the '50s horror film The House on Haunted Hill right now, and I'm wondering if one took inspiration from the other.

This book is so unputdownable, omg
