25 - Legoshi thinks he doesn’t have a problem. He leaves with the panda counseling him to test himself with a small animal porno. His eagle friend is waiting for him, not wanting to eat the old man’s finger either.

Wow! I feel like the story went 8 to overdrive with the panda character.

24 - turns out the panda is a doctor and Legoshi is his next patient. I guess it doesn’t turn out well when you suppress the need to eat herbivores. He’s here to stop Legoshi from going off the rails. Fainting at the black market is the warning sign.

23 - Legoshi and Bill get into it because Bill wants to do it! Legoshi is disgusted and runs off... because he’s drooling. He’s found collapsed by a killer panda bear...

22 - Legoshi goes to town with the other carnivore production crew. He didn’t realize they weren’t going straight back to the school. They get lost and end up in the black market. There is a herbivore with bitten off fingers and price tags on the leftover fingers.

21 - a herbivore is attacked and eaten in the city. It makes tensions arise between the two sides on campus. Legoshi meets a grey wolf girl who is being bullied. She’s in the actor pool of the drama club. She’s really sweet!

20 - one of my favorite chapters so far in this series. About a hen who sells her eggs to the school. She sits next to Legoshi who eats her eggs and her eggs only unknowingly! It was so adorable!

19 - Legoshi and Haru go to lunch together. She sees their height difference but he wants to get close to her. Looking in her eyes, Finally he learns her name.

18 - a meteor festival celebrating dinosaurs is about to start, it’s for couples. The rabbit girl gets bullied. Legoshi walks up and the bully girls run! But I liked how she stood up for herself before he did.

17 - fallout from the article and the very intense “real” performance. Talking to his friend we learn Legoshi is in love... and we see that rabbit sleeping with Louie! Gahhhhh!

Honestly not much plot. We waited for the bugs to escape but the storytelling is getting obviously better.

29 - Zen attacks the bug ball with his mallet after his crows went to war against it. Ran spots Otaro and pulls him away... but can she save him?

28 - the people are evacuated but its Hibi telling Ran he likes her with all her faults that I loved. Strong otherworldly people are called to the city to help. The bugs will be there soon.

Zen goes to the mayor to evacuate the city!

27 - Ran watches the foxes battle the bugs looking for Otaro. Finally he is revealed and the bugs for into a huge bubble and head to the human world with Otaro at the center.

The Storytelling is incredible. Subtle scenes that link together for a solid narrative! Why didn’t it flow like these before this volume?!

26 - Ran runs away and Hibi follows! She heads to the battle ground. The bugs keep getting free but the sorcerers’ magic keeps closing around them. The crows and foxes fight those that get free but Ran has made it hard on them taking away fire.

25 - Ran eventually learns about Otaro being the bag guy threatening them. I liked how Hibi was incorporated and Nio too. She told her it’s too late and he has to be burned. Ran wasn’t having that and killed all flames in the city.

The bonus story where Ran makes Nio big so she can take a bath is cute! Bromance but with girls.

Ran camps out with her brother Jin and Sango. It’s cute. The village is full of bugs... there will be war when they break out. A bunch of crow kids transfer to Ran’s school. They make her quiver and shiver...?!

We check in on the sisters who saved the villagers. The Dr feeds them with the help of a whole host of others.

We see after Jin shifted for the first time he stayed with a boy for 2 years when he rescued him. After beating some thieves he shifted back to human so had to go home. They met again in school! And are friends now.

172 - The elves gather. Fue overwhelms his elf. Yami gets Finral up to save his brother!

Clearly a setup volume preparing to battle the elves in earnest. A couple of neat reveals.

171 - Leo fights to his limit but is suppressed. And Fug wakes up?! Yes!

170 - 171 - Yami is buried and Charlotte escapes with the two knocked out elves. Then we catch up with other magic knights and their fights.

169 - Yami battlesthe blue rose captain Charlotte. Her magic is fixed due to the elf. He holds his own. Her sister comes and freaks us... Yami tells her to leave it to him.

168 - we go back to right after the wizard king died and see Yami’s reaction. He battles two elves and puts them out. Then starts with a third...

167 - Asta convinces Rades and the 2 he revived to help save the country. Pretty funny and just like him!!

166 - William is gone. Patry took possession of his body now. Rades ability evolved and he can control souls now?! Felt like a recap...

165 - turns out it was Asta’s new spell cancelling sword that pulled Luck out. They head out with Henry in the castle and battle 3 elves in the next town using his sword. But they plan on killing all the townspeople.

164 - They go to the Black Bull castle and find it collapsed. Of course Asta is friends with Henry already because he doesn’t have magic. They learn Gauche is an elf but must be fighting it since he left w/o killing them. Charmy is pissed her garden is gone... and feeds them with a meal spell to refuel their magic!

163 - They pop Luck out of it! He remembers his friends and it overcomes the elf spirit’s rage.
