I’m enjoying this but also struggling to approach the drama of the plot with Victorian sensibilities rather than my own. It’s hard for me to channel that attitude and summon outrage because our respectable young lady is going ON THE STAGE and she wants REVENGE. The author is so quick to defend her and explain everything when I’m already like, “OK that seems fair”. The 21st century reader reaction is so different.

General thoughts during my reread: Wow, Marianne is really terrible in the beginning! I loved Rosamund Pike's audio version and I think it really makes the book better to hear it. (I feel like there was an article going around about Austen writing her books in a way that makes them best read aloud but I don't remember...) Anyway, still good fun!
