I am fully obsessed with this book!!!!

It's going to take me 6 months to listen to this but I'm so glad to return to the world of Daevabad!

I was just planning my next read when I accidentally read the first page... AND I WAS HOOKED.

I'm SO excited for this book! Thank you to Simon & Schuster for the ARC!

The index at the beginning of this book scared me but I'm glad I kept reading. This book is somehow so cozy and enjoyable. I want to read it forever!

The way this fluffy graphic novel just attacked me in the heart about disability...

"Dorothy Sayers, who fancied herself a medium as well as a novelist"

I'm sorry, what?? Where the heck is this coming from? Why does the author feel the need to smear Sayers' name like this?? I'm no Sayers scholar but I have NEVER heard that she considered herself a medium or had any interest in spiritualism. This seems like in direct contrast to who she really was as a person and I can't understand this choice.

The pain I’m experiencing realizing I’m only 28% of the way into this book and everything is probably about to go wrong PLUS this is only the first book so I’m going to have to wait forever for the sequel! 😭

It’s really confusing to me that this was published chronologically out of order. I should’ve read this one BEFORE #5.

I’m sorry but the fact that the main character is hiding her ulcerative colitis from her best friend is stupid and not the disability rep I was looking for.

I’m enjoying this book more than I expected but there’s a plot hole that keeps bugging me. If one of your ex-lovers didn’t tell you she was pregnant, dropped the baby off on your doorstep, and then completely cut off contact with said child for 17 years… why would you still be Facebook friends with her? And if they’re still FB friends, why doesn’t she recognize said child from your FB posts??

A Georgette Heyer reference? Bravo!

This book is hilarious and made me laugh out loud MULTIPLE times. However, this reread I noticed the casual references to violence ("boxing ears") a lot more and it doesn't sit right with me.

Only Tolstoy would have the audacity to write two epilogues with over 10 chapters each. 😂

I wish Tolstoy had lived to see WWI. What would he have thought of all his military theories then?

I’ve been reading for over 500 pages and it has just now occurred to me that when my translation is referring to Prince Andrew they mean Prince Andrei… Again, have been reading for hours and hours, only now realizing this. 😂
