end of chapter 3: oh Henry, what are you doing worming these awful thoughts and ideas about youth and beauty into Dorian's mind? not much happened this chapter (a convo with Henry's uncle and a dinner party) but we shall see what is in store for these (obvious v gay) men next chapter

Dorian is so dramatic! Now setting up the premise of the importance of the painting. According to Dorian, beauty = youth, and nothing seems able to change his mind. Poor Basil, all he wanted was to paint a portrait of Dorian and he's opened up a can of worms I'm not so sure he's ready for.

I can't help but feel like the relationship between Basil and Dorian is very homoerotic, without straight-out claiming that it is. Basil is acting like he has a school-girl crush on Dorian and Henry is laughing behind his knuckles trying not to call him out on it.
