This kind of shit feels like the book is skirting "hot mess" category.

With so much focus on the flames, everyone had ignored the logs, the kindling. In some ways, it's easy to see why. White rage is not about visible violence, but rather it works its way through the courts, the legislatures, and a range of government bureaucracies. It wreaks havoc subtly, almost imperceptibly.

Framing is one of the most important things the media does, I learned in my Women in Politics class an era ago...

This was a failure. Many headlines and discussion since have been. I do have hope though--at least in them being called out for this type of bias.

May be questionable parenting (but really so far not really), but listening to this with my kid in the car who is usually in his own world. He asks "who is telling this story?" I tell him NB,"why do you like listening to him?"
"Yes!" With a big smile and nod.
