Great book for beginners, simple and to the point without any personal essays to bog it down (so far at least). I always like getting different nuances of interpretations

There is a lot of reliance on this masculine / feminine / elemental energy, and odd numbers being out of harmony (reliance on typical family and heteronormative structure) that has me rolling my eyes a bit - history is still interesting though

Tons of interesting stuff in here. Culture and numerology and how it can affect readings - not all of it I really buy into, but definitely interesting history

Every card (even the Tower, though they at least acknowledge an exception for "towers that don't deserve to fall") comes down to "break down the system of oppression that you are in, and try to fight it." Every card, every time, boils down to that, according to the author

For something that's supposed to be more multicultural a lot of the inspiration is ancient greek/roman lol

Very interesting, well researched (to me anyway). It seems to really interpret some cards (like Emperor) as always a force for good, but we'll see what they think of the Tower lol

A lot of missed opportunity with this. Things are addressed, but not really dived into. The racism, the homophobia, the magic system is just *whatever* - it lacks the depth it wants to have. And its not even scary
