A lot of missed opportunity with this. Things are addressed, but not really dived into. The racism, the homophobia, the magic system is just *whatever* - it lacks the depth it wants to have. And its not even scary

Everett is just so blah, I keep forgetting their supposed to be into each other until Douglas makes some random ass comment about how hot he is. Maybe im just too old to get it lol
