Why is this male narrator MUMBLING

Loving the drama. The Henrys are a mess. Author does a great job in succinctly describing the events in a way that's still relevant to the Woodvilles and the other players we've come to know

That kitchen scene with the blindfold is *chef's kiss*
And it turned into the Hattie show for a little bit, but that's to be expected lol I still like her

I get if people are disappointed by this, but I am really enjoying the subject matter. It's more historical biography with limited resources since women weren't really written about. There's a lot of extrapolating in how people "must have certainly" felt about things. But the politics of it all and how these women tried to navigate it are really interesting

Definitely more of a history about these certain women, not necessarily about witchcraft. There's some needless details (imo I don't need to know the expenses in that much detail) to prove the authors point. But also some extrapolating on how people "felt" about certain things. But it's to give them more character and improbable. Really liking this so far

Interesting so far! This will probably be more of a biography than about any actual witchcraft history, but still pretty interesting to see these women highlighted. Also author is doing her best trying to help me keep these names and people straight

Elias is an elegant jewel thief that returns them to their rightful country. I see this as an absolute win tbh

Also this is the miscommunication trope to the MOST - like Max is constantly trying to explain but Laurel literally just doesn't want to listen. She might as well put her fingers in her ears

Everyone in this is the corniest mf you will ever meet and that includes emo Max bc he's somehow in love with her despite said cornyness

Honestly idk why Maya isn't worried about her dad learning Sam's a naked butler over the fact that he's a ski instructor?? Like one of those jobs is definitely not posh lmao

Maya's narration is a bit too "quirky / whimsical" for me, but I do like their chemistry a lot

How is there a book like this with no conflict

Pacing is a bit slow, idk how they're going to drag this out for the rest of the book. But I do like the characters a lot so far. The woman narrator has a terrible man voice 😭

Bella's fun. Kind of a girl boss though, but somehow I still like her
