Yeah, ok, I get the hype - this is a fun story. Or it may have just caught me in the right mood a few months after replaying LA Noire and recently having watched LA Confidential and Babylon lol

Why is this so hard to keep reading?? It's well-written, moves fast, protagonist is likable (and has the same name as me!), Julia Child is a side character... but guys - I just don't want to keep reading this. I'm going to, because I got it from NetGalley and I feel bad when I don't finish books I request from there. But I don't particularly want to.

I should want to devour this. I think others happily will.

The main character is ridiculous. She's supposedly a wildly popular influencer and the author spends a LOT of time on the character's social media skills...which are just random pics with the dumbest, longest hashtags?? At one point she randomly posts about a random store, takes her 3 seconds, and the owner, days later, is raving the MC "is really good with social media!!"

Even if I weren't a fan of the video games, I would still enjoy this story - it's an exciting historical fiction story is a less commonly used setting and Era, with lots of action and intrigue and engaging characters. I'm loving this, honestly.

Was not planning on starting yet another book right now, but I just got this from NetGalley, and it apparently releases soon and is archived not long after that, so I'm reading this now.

Apparently I'm super in the mood for it, though. Read the first chapter in like 2 minutes lol

I'm really enjoying this audiobook so far. Mara Wilson is a great narrator for the MC.

Just 10%!!! in and there's already inconsistencies! She'd been with her ex, who recently dumped her at the alter, since freshman year of college, and yet she mentions in an aside that she once dated a lawyer? When?? As a teenager in high school?!! I suppose, but gross. At least it's moving along at a clipped pace. Like 10% in 10 minutes.

Don't know why I started this, I'm in the middle of enough reads but it caught my eye. It is not starting strong though... exposition dump from the influencer MC to a rando who happens to be a "wise" Catholic priest (MC is not Catholic and wise in quotes due to him coming off as a fairy godmother trope). Also too many walls of text for having just started this book. We'll see if I finish...

Very cute and a surprisingly strong focus on the animals that I'm into?

Reminds me of Alexis and Mutt from Schitt's Creek, if Mutt was the vet instead of Ted lol and if they were all supernatural. Plus adorable animals oh my gosh. This is adorable.

Got this audiobook ARC from NetGalley. Just started but had to comment on how great this narrator is. Zura Johnson is on my list of favorites already and I just started this!
