The sudden narrator change at 70% really threw me. I get what they're doing and why but not a fan. But still determined to finish this book. It's a solid 2 stars so far, not terrible but I just don't like it. I should've dnf'd it a while ago but at this point I feel like I just need to finish it lol

I just don't understand how this took off like it did. I honestly find it a drag. It's not bad but like... it's not really very good either? I had been so looking forward to it based on what I heard. It reminds me a bit of Kavalier and Clay, has similar vibes, and I gave that 2 stars. Meh is the word of the day for it.

Weirding me out man, I'll try to finish but it's weirding me out with the animal chapters. What was that rabbit one?! Nightmarish.

So sweet and heart-warming.

Gay and trans lead with a fantasy mystery. The art is really good, with sparing use of color for special sequences, showing how the deep dark is affecting the main character. Very good so far, I see how it was nominated for a Michael L. Printz Award for young adult literature.

Cute so far. I love the coloring. I saw a review that recommended this for summer and it's a bright sunny summer day right now so why not.

I got the book from the library and the audiobook - I'm going to listen along as I read and so far I'm enjoying it! It's nice being back with these characters, they're all so likable. Looking forward to seeing Sori and Nathaniel get back together finally!!

This has a lot of the same cute vibes as KPop Demon Hunters, I'm glad I wound up reading this because of that show. And because of the tiktok that recommended Axie Oh for if you're a fan of KPop Demon Hunters lol

Well, it's made me cry.

This is the cutest, spookiest middle grade novel, with just as much action and spooks as the first so far. We just got to the buried castle, of the title, and I'm looking forward to whatever adventure Eve and her friends go on within it! Also can't wait to experience Halloween in Hallowell - at least I hope Banbury doesn't end the book before then, because I want that joy!

It's so YA, powerfully YA, not much actually happens, but I find myself just constantly smiling as I read it? It's so painfully cute and adorable. Loving this so far, and so long as the ending holds up I think this is a solid cozy four star YA romance.
