Gah this is so, so, so good! If you are a fan of the author or any of her previous work, or you're just into ghostly psychological horror set in the 90s, you will love it!

I need some fluffy as a break and this is perfect! Loving it so far.

This story is wild but the body horror is strong and it can be difficult to take the story in too large of doses. I'm gonna need one more break before I finish this one.

I like the story but do not recommend it when you're feeling unwell like I am. It's just exasperating my nausea 🥺

This is so cute. I would've devoured an 80-book series featuring Lark and Swallowtail Island if I came across this in middle school!

Very cool - Aliens meets Pitch Black, but somehow more desolate.

I think I might have liked this better if I read it, rather than listening to the audiobook. The narrator uses the EXACT same voice for women and children - tone, inflection, speech pattern, etc. It feels patronizing. But the story itself isn't great either - just as I think characters couldn't be any stupider, they are, just as I think the story can't get more ridiculous, it does. It just keeps going!

I don't think I like book very much.

So far not what I expected... feels a bit arrogant, but I'm going to finish still (at least at this point I feel I will) to see if it becomes satire. Not enjoying it too much right now tho. Reminds me a lot of In the Mouth of Madness, and if it gets that weird it may just save itself.

Loving it so far! I'm super into this series and I'm into Opal and Nik!

Last half really picks up from a lackluster beginning.

Woo, thank you St. Martin's Press for approving me for Courtney Gould's new book!! The Dead and The Dark was one of my favorite reads in 2022, so I'm super looking forward to Where Echoes Die 😄
