I selected this book because it was listed as one of the best horror novels of all time by the New York Times. So far, it’s a slow go; a little noir, but with a touch of “Moonlighting”.

Even though I’m really enjoying this book and the character of famous Decker, large parts of it seemed very unrealistic. For instance, would the FBI really form a unit that was focused on proving the innocence of prisoners? Would they make some members of that unit civilians? I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem realistic. I’m able to suspend my disbelief, though.

An amazing job of world-building.
