Space pirates!

This took…several turns.

Ramping up now! Still pretty fun! I truly love Honor. I can totally see why there are a billion books about her.

The 2nd of the 2 “supplemental” reads I got for this month’s book club selection. These have been fun in the shift between “space is a Gilbert & Sullivan opera!” To “space is an existentially character shaking experience/nightmare on a scale that can comfortably be called mythic.” Gosh I love books.

Oh good this has found yet another gear and that gear is achingly sad.

It’s kind of amazing this thing is dropping stuff like “The Catholic Church has their own inhabited star system” and “People do drugs now with the help of body mods and genetically encoded tapeworms” but then also gives you a character that has a stroke during space travel and now only remembers the words “peepee” and “poopoo”. Truly something you can ONLY get away with in prose.

“Ultramorphine”. Christ I love books.

This is kinda dry atm but I like Honor (and the set-up) so much I don’t really mind as much as I thought I would.

Happy birthday America, I started a wild ass book in celebration.

I already love Honor (and Nimitz) to pieces.

I’m already working from a place of bias with this because 1. It opened with a map and 2. It’s dedicated to the author of Hornblower.

This continues to rule but it def needs more Bobbie.

I’m deeming July 🪐Space Opera Month🚀 because the next book club book is a space opera. I figured that was as good a time as any to get back to The Churn.

Nice to see my first Wold Newton experience is just as insane as I hoped it would be.
