Extremely funny to me that there is a narrative reasoning behind having unpainted Space Marine minis.

1. I appreciate how Mechanium focused this one is. And 2. Further appreciate how the whole gimmick of these so far have been “what if the orks weren’t a huge joke?”

Abnett is great because he gets you in the door with the Space Marine stuff but then also goes “btw this is also an Imperium court drama” and you’re just going “well, hell yeah it is, Dan!” He’s the best.

So if Hyperion was him riffing on Canterbury Tales, and Fall Of Hyperion is like his Dante “lowly man bears witness to extraordinary/metaphysical events and chronicles them through verse” riff, that would make this one The Odyssey, right? Like I’m not just pulling that out of nowhere?
