Adonis is in a wheelchair. He was born without legs. He works very hard to prove to people that he is not less able because he is in a wheelchair.

Rebekah is disabled. She uses a wheelchair. As a child, she did not feel like her disability was a limitation.

This is SO GOOD. The information is clear and thorough and accessible. I'm really hoping it has some effective suggestions for how to reduce the masculinization of violence and domestic abuse.

This is something that ought to be talked about more. I don't know how to make that happen.

Kind of irked because I can find the different editions but not the button that says 'Switch to this edition' any more. Ugh.

I struggle with part of this concept. I feel no obligation to produce wealth for somebody else, but ... I find so many things incredibly interesting and meaningful. And so I'm always trying to decide what I want slightly less than other things, what's important but not AS important. That makes it a little less heart-wrenching to let go of things I care about.

There is a LOT of this sort of expository dialogue from the narrator to the reader. The world building is very complicated, and sometimes it feels like every single detail is a Very Important Thing. It's wearying.

'I know that Cestra was once a daughter of the Line of Tristan, a distant relative of Tor who was never Called, but when she took her title, she shed allegiance to her bloodline, forever abandoned its colors and sigil, and became the Regent of Shadows.'

Nothing about which knowledge gets emphasized and which knowledge is deemed unimportant, or about who gets to make those decisions.

*sigh* super-wangsty. :(
