"Remember when you used to stay up super late writing songs? And you'd wake me up so you could play them for me first?" //
"You outgrow kid stuff like that."

So I'm interested to see how this plays out. Because in one sense, it's true; your interests do change throughout your life. However, it's NOT true that growing up means you can't enjoy fun things!

I really love the grandmother's ... poncho? wrap? not sure what it is, but it looks fabulous!

The main character is Susan. She is in her mid-40s and married with one son (now). She seems to be kind, but she is also paranoid and depressed. She wants to understand why her son did what he did, and wonders what she could have done differently or what clues she missed. The complication is that she can’t ask him about it.

I've barely started, and already my hackles are raised. I like the alliterative antithesis of "berry picking was a higher crime than bankruptcy." However, focusing solely on the pursuit of wealth leaves out other ambitions that may drive people and shape their definition of success (and thus, also shape their definition of failure).

So. We'll see.

I'm having difficulty keeping up with all of the different side characters. It's especially challenging in action sequences; I know there's a chase, or a fight, but I can't tell whether they're getting away or the pursuers are catching up, and I CERTAINLY can't tell who's winning the fight!
