look i know people are divided over this book, but the truth of the matter is that I am SO EASY to please, and this book has all the dystopian ya tropes that my little heart wants so... yeah, I'm loving it.

I've really gotta get my shit together and organize all my shelves plus figure out a review template to stick to, and ideally meet more people on here to share books with ahhhh. How am I supposed to write a Protag that is a book blogger when I know -0.4 things about it?? I'm a SHAM.

This is like... probably my second favorite book of the year, I'm not even kidding like.... Tied with One of Us is Lying. Like it might be even better, who knows. But so far the writing is... Like i can't describe how much FUN I'm having reading this book it's SO ENTERTAINING and so well written and aHHHH WHY CAN'T I WRITE LIKE THIS OMG.

Oh, you know what this book reminds me of??? The Secret History!!! "“I loved them. I loved them with everything I had. ” Tell me that's soooo not like, TSH or The Raven Cycle or something like that. Only prob not as good.

This book is so wild I genuinely don't know how I feel? I don't LOVE it by any means... The narrator seems pretentious and unreliable (which is interesting but frustrating). A lot makes me roll my eyes, but also the prose is beautiful... Maybe it's all intentional to piss me off??? IDK. I read a comment that was like "Twilight done poorly" lmao savage but... True. Except the prose is better than Twilight.

Penn always said he trusted him; the two people who let him down could have been Ella and Grant (plot twist!!) and it WOULD be very Billy Loomis for it to happen... also how did Jensen know what happened + he "unerringly" went straight to the window when the bird was thrown. Then again it could be a red herring but... Who knows 👀

my NEW theory is that simon killed himself. like.... no offense he was obsessed with ways to turn a school upside down, and wanted it to be creative so... this is a creative way to turn everything on its head. a suicide that ruins four people's lives. the ultimate way to keep himself alive, while successfully torturing everyone else –– personal and effective and no one would ever see it coming.
