this is so hot

at risk of sounding pretentious, I think when you constantly read without thinking and without introspection on what you're reading, even in the briefest fashion, you're doing what you're reading (and yourself) a great disservice. obviously, some books don't necessitate deep thought, but there's always something to take away. and yeah people look for escapism, but that doesn't mean you can't stop and smell the roses.
