Where I'm from, you start with the trailer, then add-on rooms made of grey cinder block walls. I used to call it colonia architecture :D

Besides soft-serve ice cream, their menu was mostly Little Bighorn-themed combos, including the Big Bighorn: a triple Angus beef burger and a bacon-wrapped hot dog, surrounded by sweet potato fries.

I suspect, if this were a regular novel, I might find plot and characterization thin. As a graphic novel, with the lovely distractions of great art, it's fun.

The narrative device--each chapter told by a different, non-recurring character--is bizarre, but I'm still enjoying it.

Another Tor freebie. For the most part it has seems that Tor uses its free ebook program to push pretentious, boring shite that isn't selling well. But Bolander's No Flight Without the Shatter made me cry; it was so lovely. So rather than downloading the freeby and ignoring it, as I usually do, I'm reading this one.

If I hadn't just [re]read the Red Rising series, this might, maybe, not seem so derivative. But I did, and it does. It feels like it's trying desperately to hit all the emotional plot points of Red Rising, but in a fluffier, YA tone.

Despite that, it's moderately entertaining.
