I love the description of her time at the Castle and with the Master, of her lavish dinners that can't satiate and of Mr. Russo driving her back and forth to the studio, how she always falls asleep, so can't recall the way. There's something of the fae about it...

I was thinking this book reminded me in certain ways of A Curse so Dark and Lonely...and then it hits me. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling!! Whoops, missed that memo 📝 😄

Not totally following everything going on, the perspective shifts are a little wonky for me, but overall a solid dystopian set-up.

I am really enjoying this.
Hence why I try to avoid ratings/reviews until I read something.
When I was growing up, I played the violin and danced, as does this MC.
I think that is definitely helping me connect with this.
It's sort of like a love letter to the healing power of artistic expression.

The Snowpiercer comp is totally accurate so far.

I love that this is a seafaring adventure, but not a pirate adventure, you know?
Like sometimes you want to sail the seas and encounter wild things, yet not be a pirate.
These characters are explorers and researchers and it is a fun, fantastical change of pace!

An odd set-up, but I'll go with it...

This is so good. I'm super into this mystery.
I have some theories, but am actually hoping their not correct because I like the characters involved. Also, enjoying the continuing story-lines of our main group of recurring characters, DCI Jonah Sheens and his team. Particularly Juliette and Ben, love them!

I think in between reads I created a new story-line in my head...

I have really, really connected with this one.

It makes it completely more mysterious, they didn't know the dead girl at all! Like what the heck?! She's dead in your library!?
