OMG, that scene of what happened to Harper at Briarly was terrifying 😳

Ughhh, so William Bellair, aka Billy, was an absolute monster too. So evil. I wonder if he was that way naturally, or if a spirit of the house was possessing him in some way? Is so, I would say the spirit won...

Oooo, the history of the house is so bad. Mr. Grady, the original owner, along with his accomplice, Ms. Dubois, did horrible things to people. No wonder it's haunted!!

I love that Harper has made a new friend.
She really needed someone and Dayo seems so cool.

Slow burn Literary, not always a fave Horror subgenre for me, but I do love the setting and am anxious to figure out what direction this is gonna take 😅

I'm loving Gonzalez's writing style. It's definitely Literary Horror, which isn't always a go-to subgenre for me, but it's working very well in this case 🖤

This is a really straight forward story so far, and I like that about it. No gimmicks.

The fact that this book wasn't marketed as Daisy Jones & the Six for Horror Readers is a damn shame, because that's exactly what this is. Absolutely you must listen to the audio to get the full effect. It's like listening to a Behind the Music episode.

Still surprised by some of the elements in this -- I wasn't expecting this to be THAT kind of story. I'm intrigued to see what's really going on here, if we do in fact find out. Maybe it will be open-ended?

I'm so into this right now. I love the overall tone of the writing and the way small things are being revealed along the way. No matter what happens, I'm just hoping for a little peace for Olivia. She deserves a family and some love.
