This feels very King-inspired, even down to the SSDD reference, IYKYK, but it doesn't feel like in a rip-off sort of way. I'm enjoying this. Sort of giving me a little bit of Needful Things vibes due to the proprietor of the train store.

These journal entries, if that's what they in fact are, are revealing some very disturbing things that went on his Grandmother's life. So creepy actually, but in a subtle, quiet way. I've read the author was a bit inspired by classic European Horror films and I can definitely see that in the way this is told.
