I'm enjoying this. It is a slow burn, but I'm really enjoying the characters, particularly Violet.

I'm sad for Olivia, of course, but it seems like she may get some answers now that she's actually at Gallant, and Hannah seems like a kind woman. Better than the matrons.

This is such a quick read! I love the different angles we're getting this story from and particularly enjoy the Horror movie scenes which are included.

Wow, this reads hella quickly.
We haven't advanced as much in the Horror plot as I would like ((assuming it's coming)), and there's not a ton of distinction between Past and Present in the audio version, like it says it at the top of the chapter, but it feels very one note. These are small quips though, overall, it's entertaining. Looking forward to finishing up tomorrow.

So, yeah, I saw what was happening here way before our MC, but why would she even think of what is actually going on here. I feel for her actually. Just awful.

Hahaha, I know that's not necessarily a popular opinion, but May Cobb's twisty, risque Domestic Dramas always seem to work for me.
I don't watch any Reality TV, but I have a feeling that I'm getting the same dopamine rush that viewers who love those shows are getting. It's just pure entertainment, so far from my own life it's not even funny, but it is. LOL

SMG's writing is just so easy for me to get into.
I'm loving both timelines in this, one in 1998 and the other, 1908, I believe.
Both equally compelling to me, but for vastly different reasons.

Minerva, in 1998, has made some real progress towards getting to examine the documents she wanted for her thesis. I think things will heat up after she starts digging into those!

Honestly, yet again, this feels like the slowest moving book ever...

This couple is hard to figure out. I feel like one of them is heavily manipulating our MC to make her a fall woman, but which one???

I feel like Magaret White and Vera Smith would have had a great time trying to out Jesus-talk each other. My goodness, she is insufferable. I don't know how Herb stays with her! Poor Johnny, just trying to recover. Glad he let her know it's less than helpful.

I forgot how quickly Johnny was open about his abilities after waling up!

I'm liking the set-up so far. It feels like it's going to be a perfect tone for the start of my Summer reading.

I restarted this from the beginning.
Hoping the fabulous narration of Steven Pacey will save this for me. So far, admittedly, it is going better.
