The last 50 pages sucked. It's not that it's written badly, but this is portion of the story is not why I bought this book. I want to read about an attempt to stop an assassination, not read about Jake's sex life as he learns why his new girlfriend never had sex with her husband.

The book has slowed down quite a bit the last few chapters, likely because there is a four year gap between Jake saving the janitor and his attempt to stop Lee Harvey Oswald. It's still a really good read, but I wish there were a bit more going on right now.

11/22/63 is so much better than the last two King stories I read (Lisey's Story & Full Dark). King really surprised me by killing of the Yellow Card Man, who I'm sure plays a more important role than I can even begin to guess. The last chapter (with Jake playing cribbage in order to stop a hunter from accidentally shooting a young girl) was a real feel good moment that brought a smile to my face.

How ironic that Jake's alias's date of birth is April 22nd, exactly 79 years before the day I read that birthdate. I do have to criticize King for one thing, though; how dare he insult Purple People Eater by Sheb Wooley. That song is the bomb, dammit! I thought the murders going on in town were a reference to John Wayne Gacy, but those murders happened long after 1958

I'm enjoying the ride quite a bit thus far; I'm curious where King is going. I know that if i were Jake, there's no way I'd take the trip after discovering that every trip "resets" everything. You could go back 5 years, save Kennedy, and then some stranger wind up going back and inadvertently "resetting" things to the point where Kennedy dies again. No way I'd spend 5 years doing something that could be rendered null

I've only read about a half hour, but I'm already liking it a hell of a lot more than the last two King novels I read (Full Dark and Lisey's Story). Sadly the main character is only just now discovering the time machine, so I have to wait until I start reading again before I get a hint of where King is really going. My guess is the lead character will try to save the janitor's father later in the novel.

The action is enjoyable but I find myself confused about how Grandpa deduced Vanessa was the traitor. How did he know she's a narcoblix? Is it something he's always known that we just weren't told about?

I was beginning to think that Coulter really was a traitor, but now I'm thinking Errol (or someone else) has found a way to take over Coulter.

The Fablehaven series is such a fun series to read. I think I've already deduced where they mysterious object the kids are searching for is hidden. Mull made a point of referencing the fact that Kendra never found the entrance to the house's turret, so I'm thinking that's where they'll find the object they're looking for.

It's been almost 10 months since I read the first book in the Fablehaven series, so I was afraid I'd be a bit lost when I started this one, but thankfully that fear was unfounded. I really like Mull's Fablehaven series.

Martin reminds me of my idiot uncle Jimmy. He's an asshole who goes out of his way to make all of his own problems worse. There's just no talking sense into either one of them.

Ugh, I can't stand Martin. Pride is one of my least favorite sins because it prevents you from using your brain. He could probably possibly prevent his blindness if he'd just admit there's something wrong wit him.

As is usual, I find the friendships in the book far more interesting than the romance. I could care less about May's relationship with whiny Martin, all I care about is the growing friendship between her and Genny as well as her repairing the rift that is developing between her and Tobin.
