Thus far it's a pretty slow read. I feel like it was a mistake for Lovegrove to start the novel in the middle of a fight instead of allowing us to get to actually care about the characters first. Thus far I have no connection whatsoever to David.

Not much longer now. I accidentally read a spoiler about what happens to three characters, so I'm wondering how on Earth with only 11% of the book left that will come to pass *and* the characters will manage to take care of Dracula. I'm wondering if somehow Dracula survives.

There's been a LOT of set-up, but it looks like the attack on Dracula is finally about to begin.

Dracula is getting really good now. I was surprised Lucy died the way she did, but of course now she's back (according to Van Helsing) and feasting on children in the streets. I'm really looking forward to where this is going.

It's so disappointing to me that because Dracula is now a household name that I don't get to experience the WTF feeling that readers of Dracula likely experienced when they first read the book. The bat, the sharpened teeth, and the garlic are all vampire staples, but I can't help but wonder what people in the late 1800's were thinking as they were reading this. I know Lucy is turning, but what did they know?

I'm still not sure what to make of the book now that it's shifted away from Harker's POV. What exactly is Dracula's plan with Lucy and the psycho? It's disappointing that in this day and age we know all about vampire abilities because I'm sure when this was written, a lot of people were confused as hell about what was happening.

The day of the assassination has finally come. I'm really interested in seeing what King does with it. Does he stop Oswald and the future becomes better or worse? Does he kill Oswald, only to find out Oswald wasn't the killer or wasn't the only shooter involved? Does he fail to save Kennedy at all, or does he wind up in jail for killing Oswald? There are so many ways King could take this.

"Dracula" continues to be a much different book than I expected. I wasn't really expecting the book to shift away from Harker's POV, but it makes sense that we'd hear from his fiance. I'm curious how the guy at the asylum fits into the story, though. How does a nutcase that eats live birds play into all this?

The book's been getting pretty good lately. Thankfully since Clayton made his appearance, the Jake/Sadie relationship hasn't been half as boring. I'm curious what's going to happen once Jake stops Oswald. I'm kind of expecting him and Sadie to head to the future, only to discover Oswald wasn't even the shooter. There are so many possibilities that I'm curious to see where King is going to take things.

Not at all what I was expecting; kind of amazing how little I know about the story of Dracula. I was expecting Harker to be a vampire hunter, not just a lawyer who goes to Drac's castle and winds up trapped. Guess I was confusing him with Von Helsing. I'm just now at the part where Drac saves Harker from his "brides".

Boring ass Sadie is back, but that's actually a good thing. I really was not expecting her boyfriend to abduct her right as Jake was about to find out whether Lee was alone or not when he attempted to murder that racist general. At first I thought "oh yeah, that just happened to happen at just that time" until I remembered one of the big plot lines of the book is how obdurate the past is.

Except for a brief little hiccup in which Sadie once again appeared, I really enjoyed what I read today. It's fascinating reading about this version of Lee Harvey Oswald and makes me very curious to read more about him. I'm wondering how much of King's interpretation is based on fact and how much is purely fictional.

So much more interesting now that the boring ass Jake/Sadie romance is done. Romance completely bores me, so all the details devoted to the two of them made for very slow reading for me. Still not a lot of action going on, which is surprising given the plot.
