Chapter 2 got to feel like a bit of slog with so many words discussed that are frequently misused or abused. Chapter 3 has some of that vibe so far, too, with many questionable bits of usage (eg "an historical..."? No, because the 'h' is not silent).

All manner of minutia in the recent pages and footnotes: ice cubes, dairy, childhood recollections, toast, diagonally sliced toast, etc. And the moment he realized he was an adult.

I described a bit of this book for my spouse, on the wondering about shoelaces, and she said it sounds like my kind of book (dripping with sarcasm). I supposed it is - a book filled with stupid sh*t. :-)

This book is supposed to be funny, and I am mildly amused by the banality of the first chapter. It's a lot of text to describe thought processes behind a few small carried bags while approaching the escalator. The footnote about buying adult magazines from a young female clerk did bring an actual smile (in a kindle book you don't see the footnote unless you click it, so I think I'll be doing that in this book).

She's going back to Edouard's after Marcus's passing, having received some background and instruction from Raja et al.

Yesterday we had Little Scherzo by CPE Bach and Allegro by WA Mozart. Today there were two pieces by Mozart: Andante, and Presto.

The steamer's engine exploded. Jim finds Huck in the water with him and saves him, and they catch up while fleeing north, trying to figure out what to do now that they hear a war between n and s has begun

The plan of selling Jim to her money and then having him escape didn't work out quite so well. They're running as hard as ever, having managed to get on a steamer on the river.
