Part 1 finished! This book had a slower start than Words of Radiance. Not quite as slow as The Way of Kings, but something about it just didn't compel me even the way TWOK did, and certainly not in the way WoR did—now that was a page turner. Part 1 was mostly about exploring this new setting that everyone is in, and it's got a reasonably interesting plot to do so. But I'm more interested in what's coming up next.

This book is gradually building in violence and darkness and I hate it but somehow still love it?? The writing style is bugging me less and less as the story gets more and more serious. This book has a pretty slow start, but now we're in the good dark stuff and I'm really enjoying it :)
