Gideon Thorn is fast becoming one of my favourite characters in fantasy.

I. Love. This. Series.

And I am actually so sad at the death 9f characters.

I just love this book.

The prose is ever improving, the characters are constantly growing, and Quaintrell is becoming more and more confident as a storyteller. The Echoes Saga may not be perfectly polished, but I can see why he has become one of the leading names in indie fantasy.

A terrific and addictive start to this third novel!

There is good stuff here, but it's not a fun book to read. Still, King's attention to detail and his masterful skill of writing fully realised and believable characters is on full display, even though ultimately it all comes together to feel slightly disappointing.

I had planned to finish this tonight, but I'm too tired.

Yeah, I love it when a series is even better upon reread!

The Echoes Saga is great fun! It's as addictive and as fast to read as it is well paced, has the flavour of a superior animated fantasy show, and has increasingly interesting lore. This is a reread but I'm enjoying it so much more the second go around. Is the prose great? No. But when it's this entertaining, it's fine.

This is in so many ways a very old fashioned fantasy novel, and I admit that it would be tricky to recommend to many modern readers who may take issue at some of the gender politics and attitudes presented within Kerr's world, but I respect her choices and love this book a lot. It feels like a story torn from the pages of history, with depth, deep emotionality, and complexity.

It's very hard to put this book down

Very, very hard to put down! This series will not be for everyone, but I love older fantasy.

Whilst I take a short break from the brilliant, but long, To Green Angel Tower, I decided to finally revisit an old favourite. Deverry is a fantastic series, and the more I read the more I am convinced it was an influence on Hobb. Beautiful writing, the atmosphere is palpable and the characters engrossing.

This book is breathtaking, even greater than I recall! My favourite trilogy of all time is only bettering with age!

I really ought to put this down and get back to work 🤣😅🤦‍♂️

This is a massive book, but I'm just so excited to be reading it again. I just want to switch everything in my life off until it's over!
